Wasn't he invited to Come to New Zealand,? but there was a last minute medical setback, and Robert Harris juniour came instead and sang and played his trombone beautifuly with us , the Dr Jaz band
i think for my funeral, i will add a stipulation to my will that my best friends and musicians "celebrate joyfully in public" (and of course, invite everyone else along)
look at my people. It's nostalgic in a sense seeing what i have come from. I mean i'm only 21, and i've never been to Louisiana but man look at my people, celebrating life. YOU DON'T SEE ANYTHING LIKE THAT IN CALIFORNIA!!
brother, you gotta go see New Orleans, even post Katrina it's a wonderful place! the source and roots of modern american music are here, and it's still a source to go to the "well" and be replenished!
'Nawlins is the only Southern city I love. Culture, music, INCREDIBLE cooking (unlike Atlanta). Must-see place. In my top 5 cities in the world without question.
I hear you. I moved from ATL to Los Angeles and stopped in 'Nawlins and did not want to LEAVE. However, someone convinced me to do so (I had a 6 month old baby) and luckily I heeded their advice - Katrina hit that year :)
'Nawlins is the one place I tell everyone to go to. So much soul and rhythm.
Everyone who has older videos of New Orleans before Katrina POST THEM!
Rich whites who kicked the black population out their homes after Katrina
are now loading up YouTube with videos showing the city 99% white,
trying to make people think it was always that way.
African-Americans YOUR HERITAGE WAS STOLEN along with your city.
POST THOSE PRE KATRINA VIDEOS to SHOW the rich influence
black culture had on New Orleans.
It makes me SICK what they've done to my favorite city on Earth!

I was at this second line, I had a blast dancing for about 2 hours straight. I don't like in NOLA but I love it.
