2010 Roush 427R Mustang Review

While my 2007 Mustang isn't a 427r, I've got the roushcharger, a big ass intake with a vmp tune, 3.73's, and pypes muffler deletes and it sounds just like this thing, and I bet it's faster too. All for under 30 grand. Would still love to have this car too though, my car obviously doesn't have the handling aspect.

You probably saw a standard GT, the Roush 427R package is an additional 15k on top of the GT price.

ooo yes it mega sucks! We have Croatian Kuna and you have dollars. 1 dollar is 5 kuna! No,we dont use Euro coz we r not in the EU. Just for comparison: average pay is 5000 kuna,and the GT500 is 650 000 kuna! While in US av pay is 2500$ and GT500 45000$! Nice proportion,aint it???

438 horsepower at the crank, which translates

to about 427 hp at the wheels.. (i believe..)

Either way, it's still one bad-ass mustang..

just driving miles on suspension doesn't make it great, the method one uses to measure it's performance is what refines it. So, I think it's dumb to just brag about the miles they drove to perfect it.

Porsche refines engines without them leaving a room, they run tracks from around the world without traveling 3 meters. Then they'll test it on the real track.

I'm just sick of these tuner cars. Look at these cars used and they are expired as a riced out civic......just my observations.

The amount of miles driven on the suspension shows how much time is taken to refine the suspension. So of course they would brag about how many miles they drove to perfect it. Most suspensions are designed on a 4 post suspension rig that can only test high, mid, and low speed dampening. Then the car has to be driven for adjustments like toe out, camber, caster, and scrub radius. The only way to get the proper suspension set up is on a simulator and driving. Miles do matter!

yeah see, that stuff sounds good, i'm just saying that miles aren't everything, but if you are measuring all the outputs the changes do then that is great, the advertising of this car is just all fluff I think, that's all.  Giving the impression that they slaved over the suspension is what they want you to think, where as I doubt they invested that much technology into it. Does it handle well? Better than most, but not near some cars.

The main problem of the Mustangs compared to other cars is its center of gravity. I've worked on a couple of Roush cars and see that they don't redesign the suspensions but refine them with better dampers, progressive springs, and different alignment settings. One thing I would do is redesign the suspension in total and lower the center of gravity without affecting the bound and rebound of the suspension. This would greatly better the car rather than just upgrading a few parts.

Exactly! That is why the Corvette is far superior to many other performance cars, ie. the GTR or Mustang. It is the base design that affects how a car will perform. That's why I hate when people compare a Shelby GT500 to a Corvette. But I really wish that when I get my engineering degree, I could work for Shelby or Roush and redesign the chassis modifications for the Mustang to compete with the Vette. But then again that would go against the cost effectiveness of Shelby and Roush.
