Excellent work. I think this would be extremely helpful for people who make a very short trip to the island. If you live there or go there often, I'd be interested in further documentaries. Something more helpful to people who plan to live there or stay long term. Of course, there aren't many such people. Thanks for sharing.
Aye, will probably start on the southerneast side & move northward. After the initial days ride, will probably plan some day trips to our favorite spots. Appreciated your caution concerning the currents & coral, very much needed. I almost drowned in 1972 while snorkling off of Manza beach me thinks. The reef current took us out & brought us back into the adjacent cove, just a real miracle we didn't endup as fish food nea.
same happened to me next to a wild beach closer to Mibaru. It almost dragged me across razor sharp coral reefs, the current is so strong you cannot fight it... Also have to watch out for poison fish you can die if you step on one, so it's better to wear special footwear
Highly JOTO Osher, very informative. I lived on Okinawa from 1971-74 & 75-78, Although many many bldgs & urbanizing has changed the Beauty of the Islands is the same eh? I'm planning a return trip in 2014 and was wondering if most of these beaches are accesible by motorcycle & is it possible to drive around the entire Island in one day, just a dream I've had for a very long time, Hi DOMO Nea.
yes it definitely seems possible, but I don't think there is a high-way the hugs the shoreline on the southern part of the island. But I guess you can do it in about 10-12 hours. All of the beaches in the video are accessible by bike (I drove by car to them).
I haven't seen it in 1975, but the island is definitely beautiful. I discovered the true meaning of "breathtaking" when I was there :)
Love it. makes me wanna go back, or better yet, go home (to Jamaica).
