So, Blue Noah was a spinoff saga from Space Battlehship Yamato? It must have not done so well, seeing as how hardly anyone has heard of it, especially in America. And is its crew as dramatic and beautiful as Yamato was?

I am currently watch star blazer season 1 us version, plan to see all volume. I was just doing some research on why I never heard about this anime and got a link to think on google........ This intro blows and the ship is look pretty crappy... like the Argo better. But that just my opinion.

Comparing this to Yamato, the series doesn't excite me, the stories are too tame. Nothing iconic in design. Probably Nishizaki wants to recapture the popularity of Yamato, four years ago (this came out in 1979) but the resulted with a mediocre copy. Sorry if I sound bias (which I really am).

The "translations" for "Cruiser" are wrong...Uchu Senkan Yamato LITERALLY translates to "Space BATTLESHIP Yamato"

They are 2 diferent series, this is a combination of the intro song for space cruiser Yamato and the credits for Blue Noah; although in the promotianal video for Yamato rebirth, Blue Noah has a cameo.

This looks like an opening sequence from the Blue Noah/Thundersub anime, with the opening theme song from the original Yamato/Star Blazers anime for the audio track. BN/T and Y/SB are two completely unrelated anime series, but someone thought they were similar enough to put this little parody together. I assume you didn't see BN/T as a child in the original Japanese, so the opening for BN/T in your country may have also been different. I hope this helps your confusion!

nowhere!!! this is another anime series, there is no connection with star blazers. that's all an error, it's a misunderstanding because in usa was taken the same opening song of star blazers yamato but there is no connection.

that's not a 4th yamato series, it is a new anime

Regarding what Barricade said, that fact is incorrect. "Blue Noah" is Japanese (not Korean) and created by Nishizaki, who co-created "Space Battleship Yamato" (Star Blazers)
