P.S. how come Ben Browder could't be Crichton again? (or is it Crighton?) even though it's a parody, it would have been pretty cool, but as it is, it was still the best parody of the best show ever made, in this person's humble opinion. I was just curious, that's all.

@toasega: I Heard that is how they had planned it originally but, ironically enough, it wasn't flowing right because both Browder and Black were trying not to screw up. Then someone suggested that because it was Vala's fantasy it would play out better if Daniel was in the role of Crichton. So that is why Michael Shanks ended up playing the Crichton character in the parody. No matter what I think the was one of the better "skits' of the 200th episode.

@OlafurNeal It also uses the fact that Ben Browder and Michael Shanks look eerily similar. Again. One of my favorite lines in Stargate is when Vala sees Daniel and Col. Mitchell side by side for the first time.

Also notice how rare a scene with Vala and Mitchell together is -- that is, one where it isn't a bunch of cut frames. I don't think they can be in the same room without obvious chemistry, which undermines the Daniel love interest. Hah!

@Atarsamain Huh, I never thought of that. Another thought occurred to me as well, they might have also wanted to keep people from being constantly reminded of the two of them as Aeryn Sun and John Crichton because it could have undermined the validity of both Vala and Cameron as characters.

I personally thought that was absolutely ridiculous in a weird/funny way? Hard to explain. Claudia and Ben themselves did not think too highly of that scene. Claudia herself said at a DragonCon that they were walking a fine line in doing that coz she felt like they were making fun of FS, something she was proud of. But it's a lot deeper coz not only did a couple of cast go from FS to Stargate but so did the visual effects crew. Deep history betwen the 2 shows. Farscape all the way! LOL

That's because on Farscape JOHN/BEN Browder and Aeryn/Claudia Black are constantly standing next to each other -kissing, snuggling, whispering, fighting, driving each other nuts or pointing guns at each other :) They had the best romantic/passionate moments, intense dramatic/crazy comedic moments, tender/confrontational moments - sometimes in the same scene! Claudia and Michael's act on this Farscape spoof was a play on Claudia and Ben's act on the real Farscape show.

It was decided that because Daniel and Vala is sort of romatically involved in SG-1 Daniel would be playing John (or Ben or whatever you wanna call him)... this was decided just a couple of days before the scene was made. johns roll was originally written for ben, and michael (daniel) should've played Stark.
