I don't think so buddy...He treats Bacall as if she's just some silly piece of fluff.He says something about her getting too much camera/microphone time.You get the feeling the interviewer thinks the little woman should just stand there,smile,look pretty,go shopping in Paris,and wear Leopard coats.He's there to interview Bogie.

You can kind of tell that the reporter didn't give too much thought to his questions or statements.He informs Bacall that she's from New York and was a model,as if she didn't know that.I do get the feeling that neither of them liked him very much,but tolerated him well regardless. I love these classic stars,they're so classy,talented and seem not to be phonies.

I have thousands of hours of studying Bogart and his movies but have never seen this footage. thank you for posting. Bogie was a homebody and was never to happy to go to Europe and defineity not Africa. With a little coaxing from John Huston and Lauren Bacall He was off shortly to the jungles of Africa. He looks somewhat happy in this interview to be going which surprised me. He would have been happier filming in California. Thanks again for posting.
