WNAC was originally with CBS from June 1948 to January 1961. From that time in '61 to March 19, 1972, they were with ABC. When WCVB-TV signed on and had to take ABC affiliation, CBS moved back to Channel 7 and kept that affiliation through the next two call letter and ownership changes until taking NBC in January 1995.
Remember this guys voice as a kid ..He was the nightime booth announcer on Channel 7 Boston ..I think his name was Boozier Mcormick or something like that
The '7' logo of the first slide looks like it was the basis for the second half of WNJU-TV's (Ch. 47) logo as used from the early 1970's to the mid-'80's (the '4' part coming from that of WAPA-TV in San Juan, P.R.).
Actually, Cut #1 was likely between 1969 and 1972, as "Marcus Welby, M.D." debuted in 1969 - and WNAC switched network affiliations from ABC to CBS in 1972.
Ah. Actually, I'd've thought that logo to be more like c.1967-68 - as from what I've read, WNAC was the last of the network-affiliated Boston stations to go color. As for the slogan "Your RKO General Station" - WOR-TV in New York used that one within the same (1966-68) time period.
Well the logo was marked '66, and as I wrote in the 'About this Video' block above, this is something I put together myself. Just to give an idea of an old ID. The audio track is positively not from any later than 1971, and the logo is circa '66, perhaps it was early '67. I added the building and then combined the audio and image. It may not be perfect but it works for me.
I vaguely remember finding out that WOR was once RKO. But by the time I saw the station, it was just using the ID 'WOR-TV 9, Secaucus New Jersey'. Shortly after changing to WWOR, they were removed from my cable system. All NYC was, as well as RI and then most NH.
this was when 7 was with ABC i think. then in 1982 they became WNEV.
that video is also posted on here somewhere

Hence, Channel 7, at one time or another, was affiliated with all three networks.

No, as mentioned aforehand, the announcer on both these clips was Leif Jensen.

Sounds like Leif Jensen to me.I remember recording announcements with him and the booth was like a fog chamber from cigarette smoke.

You worked with Leif Jensen at WNAC and/or WNEV?

Yes when it was still WNAC right out of school in 1975.

The (#1) audio is '69 to no later than 1971, but the logo is circa '66, possibly a bit older.

Well . . . whatever works, works. 'Twas an interesting layout, though.
