Saw V was not terrible. You act as if Saw 6 did such a great job, it was no damn different. Both DH and KG were great . But if I had to choose, I would rather for Hackl to come back as I think he did a better job, because Imo, Greutert did no better. Stick with editing. I enjoyed Saw 5 because of how Hoffman got involved from the beginning. It allowed you to catchup with some of the history from the original Saw. And yeah, Saw 6 explained a bit more, but dont act like KG did a huge improvement.

But that last drop was particularly drastic. Probably because of Paranormal Activity. And the publicity for Saw V was as good as hidden in theaters by the even more terrifying High School Musical 3.

Saw 5 showed alot. It showed how Hoffman was recruited! Thats the best of it all and it showed peter strahmn in some real action. All the saw have a purpose and 5 was a good installment if you really appreciate the story!

i dont believe that gordon is dead. the main reason for that is because if eric matthews could survive 6 months with no foot and he smashed his off in a brutal way rather than a clean cut like gordon and eric being alive for that long until he died then so could gordon, after his clean cut. Dr. Gordon is in all likelihood dead. A severed foot causes massive amounts of blood loss unless he cauterized it soon after. If Dr. Gordon is alive then I think he's the unknown-unknown apprentice. But my money is on the other Doctor - Jill Tuck. Some of those traps needed medical expertise to do it correctly (The Classroom Trap involving the abusive husband & his wife impaled with harpoons). Placing the harpoons in the correct places requires a good knowledge of human anatomy, ie a doctor.

Art Blank set up the classroom trap, i think they have unused footage or pictures of a scene of Art with the bow & the spikes. But it's true, a lot of traps require intense knowledge of human anatomy, like in the opening scene of saw ii with the key in the eye socket. But then again, some of the producers claimed jigsaw was "very educated". Maybe he studied human anatomy a bit. He seems amazed by it.

Well, I actually can still see this showing up in Saw V. I saw this documentary on the Blu-ray a few weeks back, and my eyebrow raised. After all, V will focus on Hoffman quite a bit, so it only makes sense that unseen flashbacks to IV will show up. Plus, this scene hasn't shown up in any extras features on any current DVD/Blu-ray of IV... though many are waiting for the usual "double dip" which MAY show up, though nothing has been announced.
