Nissan just recycled the 2000-2001 maxima commercial with a front grille from the 2002 model and made it into a 2002 Maxima commercial. I am thinking of buying a 97 Maxima 5 speed though. I heard the 95-99 Maxima were more reliable and fun to drive than the 2000-2003 maximas

@355LTM weak body? this car is built tuff, im a big guy and i can sit on the hood without it even trying to dent in, civics have weak bodies, u put your hand on a civics hood and the hood bends in.

i think they filmed the 00-01 first and when they did the slight redesign they probably filmed it again with tha 02-03 model

im confused the front looks like a 02-03 but the back looks like a 01.

Yeah I agree with you. The front looks like a 02-03 and the rear looks like either 00-01 or it can also be an 02-03. The shifter does look like a 00-01 shifter. Maybe they used two different cars for this commercial?

I played the video slowly again and I noticed the wheels are 02-03 wheels. The shifter still looks like an 00-01, but the rest of the car sure looks like an 02-03.

but cant be had with a 6spd and weighs 180 more pounds. I agree though, an obsidian black I35 with dark windows is eye catching. I'd love to swap a 6spd into an I35.

It is just a 02-03 commercial.I don't think Nissan had the slogan SHIFT_ in 00 or 01.

Actually, I forgot "Driven" too, which was actually before Shift, and After "Built for the human race" Cars Like it: 0 was for the MAXIMA ONLY, and was still used with "Shift_", which they also showed.

I would have to say either the '89-94, which was considered a good looking car in its day. I hesitate to say the current new Maxima. I think the front is gorgeous and unique, but the rear looks like a used bar of soap.

I certainly agree with you. I have own many maximas before and my favorite one is the 97-99 SE 5 Speed.

If you look carefully, the front of this Max is an '02-'03 model while the rear end, dashboard and shifter are from the 00'-01' models

theres no way to tell about the shifter, the back does kinda look like it has smoked trim around the lights but due to the lighting conditions, u just might not be able to see the altezza tails.
