What a wonderful job you did. Wow. I'm really impressed with your playing and singing. You should really stick with music becaue you're super talented. I wish you woud do a tutorial of this song and how to play it. The only one that I've seen is really ba and the guy goes way too fast and is not a good teacher.
so please think about doing one OK. thanks for posting this, really great job :)
dude.. im a guitarist myself.. this song is great for someone knowing that life means more.. its all about the ride. sorry man lol im ramblin but you do it well, i just love the song lol
If the Nico version was the only one I had ever heard I would say that it was not a very good song (lyrics aside). The AOL vid is definately THE version.
Dude you play the song very well. I really want to learn to play the song to. Can you tell me how you learned it?? Or even better if you find the time and the will to do so..could you maybe make a 9 a 10 min instructional video on how to do the strumming and how to grab the chords.
dude....this was awesome!!!!!! love the guitar playing and your voice is perfect for the song. I'm trying to learn it, but the fingerpicking pattern has me stumped. Anyway, really enjoyed this cover very much!
Great cover of definitely one of Jackson's earliest and best songs ever written! Plus your voice helps a lot, as you DO have sort of that Jackson Browne tone to your voice. Kudos to you, COUGARMAN8!!
hmm.. I used to like jackson's version better but once you listen to nico's a couple of times you really get into her intonation and singing in general.. well I did anyway
You had a great cover but just because of the comment in the side star 1 star. Bright Eyes singer Conor Oberst has written some of the most influential and unique lyrics of all time. Plus Cassadaga and many of his albums are recognized as modern masterpieces. More than I can say for Jackson Bowne. Still Jackson Browne and his AOL session of this song is freakiing sweet no doubt he's talented.
So, your cover is just about the best out there!!! Great job. I have been trying to learn this song on the Guitar but I am not so great at pickin it apart.
Not like you have anything better to do but, would love to see another how to Vid.
Yes, Nico's version is the best by far and yes Jackson Browne wrote the damned song. But this is a very good version of the song. Slightly modified but still very good.
Since everyone's mentioning the version they like best, with me, it's a tie. Jackson's version, and the Ian Matthews version. I actually heard Ian's version first, since I started collecting all his albums before I had all of Jackson's, and that's how I heard it. Ian's version is faster.
yeah! like 1carp said, its so weird how your musical taste is oddly similar to mine. i've recently gotten into Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, and i just noticed today that you have a cover up. How weird!
Nico??? Are you guys kidding??? Jackson Browne wrote this song when he was 16, and Nico got a hold of it (I don't know if he sold it to her or not) and butchered it. Jackson saved it and put it on one of his early albums, it really is a great tune and you played this beautifully.... FYI Duane Allman also played this song and the Allman Brothers carried it on.... Kevin
I agree with caporaleReyes. Something about Nico's version thats so enchanting. Kinda just grabs you. Both versions are amazing but I have to say I prefer Nico with her rare voice and that accent. lol
Glad to see you back Cougarman. It's uncanny how your taste in music matches mine. I've learned a lot from you tutorials, so thanks for all the work you've done. It's appreciated.

Agree with many others, man. You nailed this. One of the best covers on youtube. Must be from the south. And nico does suck.

Great job. No mystery about Nico though. Jackson
was having sex with her in New York when he was
nineteen and she was thirty. She was still pretty hot
IMO.

Sweeeet. Nice job. Hard song to do.
I believe the first time I heard this song it was on a Tom Rush album.

Personally, I prefer the guitar part better in Nico's version.
But I love Jackson's singing much better.

Bravo, sir. I do like J Browne's version, though I think St Vincent may have cut the definitive version (check her Dumbo Sessions).

great fingerpicking and good voice, bravo.
(anyway I must confess that the version of Nico is the most emotional one, maybe the foreigners accent, who knows)
