Slurs are when you sing all of the pitches between two notes as you go between them (like, the sound a saw-harp would make if you bent it while playing on it). Three examples are at 0:36 0:38 0:58 This song is filled with them (O:

It doesn't have as much to do with "being into music," as it does with being classically trained (O: I don't presume for a minute that they are the same thing.

And besides, reading that over... I actually had a really bad brain fart. I meant "fall off," not "slur," I'll try to clear that up now:

slur: when you sing/play one note to the other without a break in between (but, there's no jazzy scoop, just one note to another... like "And I-e-I-e-I will always love you!")

glissando: when you sing/play two notes, and all of the notes in between (like the sound a race-car makes when it goes by)

fall-off: what I was talking about (O: What you were actually doing in the song. When you kind of drop the pitch at the end of a note.
