The village officials there are quite staunch characters when it comes to village traditions. Lol.

I think it's appropriate for Little Edie to wear this costume. She already wears head covering daily, so this is just more extreme. I love your version of Little Edie's possible reactions to Muslim women. I think it's so consistent with the way I've perceived her--from watching Grey Gardens so many times.
