Wow what a crappy idea for a movie. How come the 'other' earth always looks like that standard NASA image of the earth, and how come it keeps showing up in different parts of the sky, fully illuminated instead of showing phases. A giant sprinkley donut in the sky would be more realistic.

This movie isn't about a different earth, its about the difference in men and women. See when women try to lie it eats at them until they have no choice but to fess up and tell the truth. (Most times this happens after sex.lol ) But men hold lies until they die. If Rhoda was a man and John was a female, he would've lived happily ever after with the woman whose family he killed, and wouldn't have thought twice to tell her. What people misunderstand about this movie is that this is NOT a movie about the science. In fact, this movie - as far as its message goes, is very much the same as any other movie that we've seen. The questions that are asked in this movie are questions we ask ourselves everyday - only in fewer words.

this movie was gorgeous... who the heck cares whether it could actually happen like that or not... it provided gorgeous visuals and a variety of questions about identity and human life. I adored this film, and would change absolutely nothing about it :)

Its a great movie. If you expect science accuracy then stay home. This movie is really not a science fiction film. The minor parallel earth plot element is really just a cue for certain philosophical considerations that form the structure of the drama.

It is a very intense movie, but you should expect more drama and less scifi. Don't expect a in-depth treatment of the sci-fi themes.

@noisedownloader Well since everything thats exists is a combination or assortment of atoms, one could say that over time the atoms will run out of different combinations. Its like rolling a die, you have only 6 combinations, so eventually the die is gonna roll the same number. However, with atoms its highly unlikely.

If the universe is infinite in duration, or if there are an infinite number of atoms, then it is certain that replicas of you, earth and all you see, exist or will exist or have existed.

This is not the same as the "many world theory", which says that all possible outcomes of any event happen at the same time in parallel universes.
