I think the morons that rev up their cold engine and drive their DIESEL powered truck like a race car are the same group of people. If these people wanted a fast accelerating vehicle, they should have stuck to Novas and Chevetts. Diesel engine has a smooth torque curve and not a high peak curve. Also DONT push your truck hard until the engine is fully at operating temperature. IT WILL LAST LONGER.
you're fucking stupid. You start it up when the motors cold, and then rev the shit out of it? how retarded are you? well you have a stack on so I'm guessing you're pretty damn stupid. A nice Cummins like that dosen't need a stupid ass stack.
man, broncsaddle08, any cummins should have stacks!!!! your a retard if you don't have any!!!! I like the dual stacks (in my opinion) but atleast you had the right idea **DieselPower02**!!!!!
Okay it looks like someone beat me to the answer, but yeah engine oil in a diesel tends to gel up, especially if it is that cold outside, making it harder to lubricate the engine when you rev it high if it is a cold start.
May I ask why it is bad to rev it on a cold start? I'm just wondering. And I need a mature person to answer, not some 11 year old that thinks he knows everything and that im stupid. I just want to know thanks.
The oil in a cold engine is very thick so it doesnt lubricate very well until the engine and oil is warm. Revving a cold engine just puts it under added stress and creates more engine wear.
If you would take and use your brain, you would notice from the other videos that the truck is red, and the scenery and background was giving the truck the illusion of being pink.
Well, DieselPower02 posted this video to show how stupid he is and how messed up his truck is. He cold starts a beautiful truck and revs it up. nothing like the clanking he's gonna hear if he keeps doing it. Possibility of throwing a rod. Losing a lot of money.
haha well mine ain't like that... i will send you a video when i get the truck re-painted, mine is a split system, which you can buy for just a little more money with better performance.
youre a dumbass for starting your diesel and revving it up without proper warm up, use your brain for something other than keeping your ears spaced apart. i work as a full time truck driver and part time mechanic. i have seen people blow a motor doing the same damn thing.
@DieselPower02 whats wrong with stock exhaust? It's not like dodge was trying to keep the engine from making any power, it was designed to give a good balance of noise level and performance, I think some back pressure from a stock exhaust is a good thing for the turbo and low end power.
@arnoldt14 ......the less back presser on the turbo helps it spool faster.....big pipe gives you better fuel mileage, hp an torque increase an turbo spools faster, stock pipe sucks
It's obviously a women, or a gay pride truck they are trying to pop, I cracked my stock 24v head and blew my stock gasket... 65lbs of boost, 118mph... now I have another head and modified marine gasket with arp head studs (the truck is called the Burgundy Bomber) I double cyle the grids, plug in when I can and always let her low idle until I'm within operating range, and at least stay under 2k till full temp.
You will blow your turbo all to hell. When its cold the oil in your engine doesnt cirrculate well and your tubo bearing has no oil. you could also throw a rod or spin a bearing due to lack of oil press. allways let your diesel warm up in cold weather before revving it up.
first off ur one stack looks gay and its too damn small and never rev a cold engine. Didn't u ever hear of that? maybe next time you should plug it in.
u never force diesel's to warm up on really cold days by giving it a lot of fuel . that can make ur turbo wear out faster and can also make ur head gasket to blow up
I think the 2002 dodge cummins were some of the best made from dodge and cummins that are out there, along with a few other good selected years produced! I just think the 2002 was a pretty good year for these trucks.
you should give it at least 5 minutes in 0 or below, but if its anything lower you should give it a good 15 mins, revving it up like that will put the pressure on your head gasket and could cause other damage at least.
my truck when its below like 20 it starts and ildes right at 1000rpm but after u wait a while u hit the brake or gas and it goes down. nice truck man!
uhhhhhhh dumb shit im talkin about when he revs it up towards the end of the vid! that aint good for it! and i have never heard of revin it up for 30 secs! thats about the dumbest thing ive heard all day!
well sorry to tell u but i just went out and looked at my truck (12 valve) and it says to let idle for 30 seconds. nowhere does it say to idle at 1000 rpms!! thats fuckin stupid u need to learn your shit man! go look at the visor ( if u even have a truck) and then u will see!
I agree with you I own a 95' 12 valve cummins and a 2000 7.3 L powerstroke and it is NOT good to rev your engine when its cold. I always let them idle for at least 15 minutes during the winter before I drive them.
ya your right. i always let mine idle for atleast 15 mins in the winter and just a few mins in the summer and i take it easy on the throttle for a while also!
the white smoke is unburned fuel, if the cylinder is not up to temp not all of the fuel is burned because there is not enough heat from the compression to ignite the fuel
Yeah that the cummins sound for ya, the trucks red not pink, I wish it was pink, its not a grand rock stack, its a homemade stack kit. Today I put a six inch on...it sounds even better!
