@Charlymaumushi Yep it will work. But I didn't use it for this demonstration because cows eat less chemicals and chemical-ladden food than humans. I didn't want to accidentally drink someone's consumed pharmaceuticals. But non-concentrated human waste (as you would find mixed into a river stream) would/should be fine.
Wow.. 19 dirtbags hate clean drinking water for all. Wish l had their addresses, be so much easier to find them.. :-) Self important elitist shitbags.Just kill yourselves already, and do the world a great service
@Demonfire39 I think dgl1962's original comment was about the nature of how the aid work we see done in far away countries is usually presented by Western/White aid workers and/or Western/White run NGOs. And you can't deny there is a bit of a skew - at least in terms of what we see (on average) in Western media. But the reality is different on the ground. And I definitely don't agree with your statement :-/
In many cases the poeple are European because a) they are the ones with the knowledge and the equipment to render aid, and b) they are too arrogant to involve the locals in the cure, or even consult the locals as to what needs to be cured or the nature of the cure.
LifeStraws can be purchased in the USA from greenbeetlegear on the web. they can also be donated via the manufacturers website (vestergaard frandsen).
If there is a road or other infrastructure in some places it is because some european built it there 60 years ago. There is a ferry still operating on lake tanganykia that predates WWII and was actually sunk and raised. They build nothing, want to learn nothing, and adhere to a culture that produces such bad conditions. The solution is not to give a filter but to change the culture. I gave over $1,000 last year to feed hungry children. Tired of stupid stopgaps like this.
@brucec43 I hear you and empathize with your sentiment. But as the son of one of those "poor people" you feel "wants to learn nothing" I can assure you that you're over generalizing. In reality, the poor (on the aggregate) are not lazy, have a thirst for knowledge, and want to improve their own conditions themselves. And sometimes all they do need is something to help forge their own paths to success: be it school supplies to go to school, medication for when they are sick, food, or clean water.
@dgl1962 eeeeh... you make a fair point. And it's one which many make and you can't deny. Though most NGOs do hire a majority of local people for their field offices.
I'm fairly sure the video is genuine, but the way it is edited, they could easily be drinking from the "nah screw that, I'm not drinking cow shit" bottle.
@sparkloweb True :) I do have the raw foot age saved if ever that criticism gets a lot of momentum. We even did it this way: turned on purified tap and drank water, turned off flush valve and showed fecal waste, turned on purified tap again and drank clean water. We also did this in the open and could be witnessed by locals who were in no way affiliated with me or that company who made the device.
@armypenguin Actually that's the thing - viruses aren't getting through it. It filters water at the nano-level. The world's smallest virus couldn't get through. Why do you think I drank cow sh*t if viruses would go through? :P
@UnculturedProject I saw the second video that said that the virus didn't get through I would want to take a deeper look at the technology and obviously you did your research or are crazy but I think its the first one. Right now my preferred water treatment is Polar Pure but it requires more work than a gravity filter.
@armypenguin I don't work for the company that makes this filter - but I believe they post independent research about this product. It purifies water to US EPA levels. If the source water has no chemicals or salt in it - it's good enough to be tap water in any US city after being filtered by this device.
dumb niggas can't just make less children, why 1 african must have like at least 6 kids ? while he can't even put food and water on the table just for him self.
@Hamodyxxx0 Blatant racism aside, there is a simple reason for this. In developing countries, (not just countries with the "N-Word" but also countries like Bangladesh and elsewhere), having a lot of children happen for a few reasons. One, not every child survives childhood. So having many kids means at least SOME will survive to help you in old age. Two, there is lax child labor laws - meaning kids can go out and work help the family income.
@UnculturedProject so it's the wild west out there eh ? surviving tactics...produce more children and sacrefice a lil to make sure he stands at ur back when u be a granny..lol
@Hamodyxxx0 They don't call it extreme poverty for no reason. Also made a typo in my original reply. I meant high infant mortality (many children die). Low infant mortality is what the developed world like Canada, America, England, etc have...
@UnculturedProject project in mind..instead of donating water purifying machines donate condoms, create condom schools to educate them about sex and AIDS etc...those niggers, indians etc..are uneducated they follow the in + out + jizz inside = make a twin and after 9 months do it again, they actualy think that the ( pussy ) is an investment for the future while the fact is the children will live a tough childhood and suffer like no ever while we still arguing about who's better bieber or rebbeca.
@Hamodyxxx0 1) I have to stress it's incredibly hard to have a conversation when you're using the N-word. 2) It's not as simple as handing out condoms. What imperative is there to use contraception when having kids means a great income source? Or greater survivorship? Lowering infant mortality and strengthening child labor laws has to happen first. 3) Water changes everything - including infant mortality. So this is a very critical change to this community.
@steeldrum66 please do explain. Last time i checked theres tons of people in america that have just as much money as these people do. Id much rather help out my own people then these tribes in africa. As for shit life... im 19, work 40 hours a week pay for a 06 mustang a 2 bedroom apt. and donate to my local food pantry that helps feed familys in my town. take your bullshit else were sir its not needed.
@UnculturedProject So you advocate that those who can't feed themselves, maintain proper hygeine, or even obtain clean water for themselves have large families? In what scenario do kids suffer more? While handing out filters may make you "FEEL" better, it's not a solution.
@brucec43 If you and your family lived in their environment, you would be at the sharp end of your own point. What would you do if suddenly there was no water treatment plant, and no super market?
@omegahunter9 But I don't. I don't have kids I can't afford. That's cruel. Ever consider that? What "right" does one have to put a kid through that? We've been sending aid there since WWII!! ZERO improvement in many areas and actual devolving in others (Zimbabwe, Somalia) as their colonial masters finally left. Ther point is there was not "suddenly" no clean water. There never was. They are living worse than some cultures did nearly 1,000 years ago. Propping that behavior up is cruel.
@brucec43 Yes, I do consider "that". In the defense of human life, I say that it is cruel to let people die simply because they remain in "that" environment. It is cruel to judge them, implying that they should not have children because they aren't improving themselves to your standard. In our economy it is not hard to imagine you reaching a state in which you can't afford kids. I see homeless people roaming the streets here, should we not help them because they don't improve or fix themselves?
Man, I didn't think much about water, but after seeing this and the condition of their water, I am so so so grateful I have easy access to clean water
Looks like a scam... For me the best way to make money is by using the system explained for free here: ez-casino(dot)com, it's the easiest way, I'm making around $60 a day with it...
Man so damn AWESOME. You guys are doing God's work (and no I am not religious) that is the only way to describe it. Thanks and I look forward to making a contribution of some sort.
@fritzism Gods work... yeah right. People who say stuff like that make me sick. If its truly Gods work, why isnt god doing it? Why did God allow it to happen in the first place? Poverty, disease, horrible sensless death... no god worth worshipping would allow that.
@RandomGuy0987 RandonGuy, I completely understand how you feel about this, but I prayed to God one day and was given the answer, it's so simple...... God loved us so much that he gave us that choice to not follow him, he gave us FREE WILL! Some of his children over the course of the millenium have made horrific choices affecting the lives of the innocent, and that's what he have today!

wat's d cost for this filtration? D maintenance cost could be high right? D current conventional technology is using chlorine for disinfection. More advance UV/Ozone.... If yo filtration process is cheap den we do not need a huge treatment plant.
Wow, what a message. We only recently became aware of this message and the disasterous effects it has on humanity. 1-million a year die each year from the lack of lean water - chilling! A former student of Karen's invited us to her University to view and discuss the movie "Blue Gold". Thereafter, we wrote a song about this message. Great video and message you have here!
@ZombieExoHunter Yes and no. It would remove all viruses and bacteria from it. But urine is generally sterile. So it would just have chemical and mineral waste the body doesn't need.
@MusicGodAndMyLaptop Actually, the lifesaver bottle is identical to the lifestraw family in it's bacteria and virus removal capacity. Both are nanotech filters. And, FYI< this was a finished product already helping people while the LifeSaver bottle was just a prototype.
Also, look up the cost. This cost $35. I dare you to find a LifeSaver bottle under $100.
@nostoppingnow Thanks for the fast reply, but if this were to just sitting on my shelf and never used but in an emergency how long would the unit last before I would have to throw it away and replace it?
is this built using nanotechnology? cause that is meant to designate things like atom-stacking, and manufacturing machines made of molecules. the 'dry nanotech' is different from the 'wet nanotech', as 'wet' refers to biological, so is potentially very harmful as it could mutate go wrong etc and cause problems, like GMOs and any genetic modifications cause.
also - if the water is in contact with toxins it'd retain that imprint if it's not removed - see Massaru Emoto's work, just one example.
help please if i drank accidentally just a little drink of lake water that the water don't move around like a river is just around plants and mud, will that get me sick or be bad for me, or it will go away after i digest that?
@elgoose2003 It depends on the contamination level of the lake water and your level of resistance to bacteria and anything else in the water. If you're really concerned, you should see a doctor.
@UnculturedProject if im am getin someting bad from the water in how long will i start seen things with my body how long from wen i drank that water it wasnt alot just like a shot of liquor size of drink
Gather a little charcoal from each night's cooking fire and keep it aside for next time. Of course, it's a stop-gap meant only for extreme conditions, but then those are the ones you don't always expect, and under "normal" African conditions, you can do it indefinitely, especially if you also boil the water each time. Even the old Russian systems in ageing cities are beginning to break down and leak. Wells, filtration and general re-organization are still the solutions.
@ uncultured: I'm assuming nothing. Neither should you. Please READ the e-mail before responding to it! Except in the desert, where there is water there is wood for cooking (cutting trees and plants for fuel is what helps MAKE deserts). Charcoal comes from cooking-fires with wood, not from the local hardware store!. Only a handful will do for a day's filtering through a handkerchief, anything permeable.
instead of putting "non profit" in front of something just to exploit a third word country to put money in your pocket..... which everyone know Americas the best at..... why don't you teach them how to make simple charcoal filters.... Jesus fucking christ is this little scheme the new starbucks.... just think about it.... you can make filters from scavenged things and charcoal which only takes fire and wood.... what they don't have wood... im sorry i didn't know that.... looks like plenty to me
@jemkox Your rant is so awesome, so matter-of-fact... I just wish it was right. Sure, you see lots of wood all over the place - but ever heard of property laws? What? You just thought because it's a "third world country" that those trees don't belong to someone? Someone who would charge anyone who would want to take their property?
@jemkox Oh and, let me get this also right, so your proposal is that - in addition to walking for miles for hours each day to get water - that they also "scavenge" for miles for wood and charcoal? How sustainable is THAT scheme? You say "jesus fucking christ" in your comment. Funny - that was MY reaction to YOUR comment.
@UnculturedProject hahaha mine too to that comment!! i bet this person has never left the city they live in LET ALONE traveled outside to another country or ever OWNED a business!!!! i spent 6yrs in South America and can tell you first hand YOU ARE DOING GREAT WORK HERE!! keep it up, im buying one of these for my "bug-out" bag....thanks
@jemkox ok there is nothing wrong with making a profit off of something good. Why dont you complain about fast food companies, tobacco companies, etc...? they seem to do more harm. These people are actually making a product that will save lives, i support that.
This is the use of nanotechnology. I suggest you read up about it on the net. and then you may understand how nano-membranes work. They are 100,000 times smaller than the width of a human hair. They can purify, detoxify and desalinate water meaning that third-world countries could get clean water, solving many water related health issues. We're talking the future being developed by companies today.
I know better way for cleaning dirty water.Put dirty water in large contantainer leave it for some time so that impurities settle on the bottom, use siphon to suck water above layer of mud in the clean container and then heat water to the boiling point to kill microorganisms.
@zoltan6561 Most people in developing countries can't afford the firewood or fuel necessary to boil all their drinking water. Otherwise, your suggestion is perfect.
@zoltan6561 Again - perfect suggestion.... if bleach was affordable for all the water they are drinking. If they can afford firewood or coal to boil the water - perfect. If they can afford chlorine tablets or bleach to clean the water - perfect. But the keyword here is "afford". Filters like this are a one-time cost (either donated or purchased) and last 5 years.
I think bleach is cheap even for people living in third world countries.
1 liter of bleach in my country (Croatia) cost 4,49 Kn it is 0.84 USD and according to one wilderness survival site you need 8 drops of bleach per gallon of water.

Man so damn AWESOME. You guys are doing God's work (and no I am not religious) that is the only way to describe it. Thanks and I look forward to making a contribution of some sort.
fritzism 1 year ago

Just my personal opinion
Cheers...

Sorry, but the Lifesaver Bottle & Jerry Can is much better. Takes away ALL bacteria and virus!
MusicGodAndMyLaptop 1 year ago
@MusicGodAndMyLaptop Actually, the lifesaver bottle is identical to the lifestraw family in it's bacteria and virus removal capacity. Both are nanotech filters. And, FYI< this was a finished product already helping people while the LifeSaver bottle was just a prototype.
Also, look up the cost. This cost $35. I dare you to find a LifeSaver bottle under $100.

is this built using nanotechnology? cause that is meant to designate things like atom-stacking, and manufacturing machines made of molecules. the 'dry nanotech' is different from the 'wet nanotech', as 'wet' refers to biological, so is potentially very harmful as it could mutate go wrong etc and cause problems, like GMOs and any genetic modifications cause.
also - if the water is in contact with toxins it'd retain that imprint if it's not removed - see Massaru Emoto's work, just one example.

help please if i drank accidentally just a little drink of lake water that the water don't move around like a river is just around plants and mud, will that get me sick or be bad for me, or it will go away after i digest that?
elgoose2003 1 year ago
@elgoose2003 It depends on the contamination level of the lake water and your level of resistance to bacteria and anything else in the water. If you're really concerned, you should see a doctor.

@uncultured":
Wells, filtration and general re-organization are still the solutions.
nigelgspencer1 1 year ago
@nigelgspencer1 Again, you're assuming many people are rich enough to afford charcoal.
UnculturedProject 1 year ago
@ uncultured: I'm assuming nothing. Neither should you. Please READ the e-mail before responding to it! Except in the desert, where there is water there is wood for cooking (cutting trees and plants for fuel is what helps MAKE deserts). Charcoal comes from cooking-fires with wood, not from the local hardware store!. Only a handful will do for a day's filtering through a handkerchief, anything permeable.

I've heard in some communities, they use the SODIS method, which is basically free, if you don't count the plastic PET bottle.

davidochoahentai 1 year ago
instead of putting "non profit" in front of something just to exploit a third word country to put money in your pocket..... which everyone know Americas the best at..... why don't you teach them how to make simple charcoal filters.... Jesus fucking christ is this little scheme the new starbucks.... just think about it.... you can make filters from scavenged things and charcoal which only takes fire and wood.... what they don't have wood... im sorry i didn't know that.... looks like plenty to me
jemkox 1 year ago
@jemkox Your rant is so awesome, so matter-of-fact... I just wish it was right. Sure, you see lots of wood all over the place - but ever heard of property laws? What? You just thought because it's a "third world country" that those trees don't belong to someone? Someone who would charge anyone who would want to take their property?
UnculturedProject 1 year ago
@jemkox Oh and, let me get this also right, so your proposal is that - in addition to walking for miles for hours each day to get water - that they also "scavenge" for miles for wood and charcoal? How sustainable is THAT scheme? You say "jesus fucking christ" in your comment. Funny - that was MY reaction to YOUR comment.
UnculturedProject 1 year ago 3
@UnculturedProject hahaha mine too to that comment!! i bet this person has never left the city they live in LET ALONE traveled outside to another country or ever OWNED a business!!!! i spent 6yrs in South America and can tell you first hand YOU ARE DOING GREAT WORK HERE!! keep it up, im buying one of these for my "bug-out" bag....thanks

We're talking the future being developed by companies today.
undemanding 1 year ago
I know better way for cleaning dirty water.Put dirty water in large contantainer leave it for some time so that impurities settle on the bottom, use siphon to suck water above layer of mud in the clean container and then heat water to the boiling point to kill microorganisms.
zoltan6561 1 year ago
@zoltan6561 Most people in developing countries can't afford the firewood or fuel necessary to boil all their drinking water. Otherwise, your suggestion is perfect.
UnculturedProject 1 year ago
@UnculturedProject
I see plenty of trees in your video.
zoltan6561 1 year ago
@zoltan6561 You also saw some cows in the video - can I just go and take 'em?
UnculturedProject 1 year ago
@UnculturedProject
You can add small amount of bleach in the water to disinfect it .
zoltan6561 1 year ago
@zoltan6561 Again - perfect suggestion.... if bleach was affordable for all the water they are drinking. If they can afford firewood or coal to boil the water - perfect. If they can afford chlorine tablets or bleach to clean the water - perfect. But the keyword here is "afford". Filters like this are a one-time cost (either donated or purchased) and last 5 years.
UnculturedProject 1 year ago
@UnculturedProject
I think bleach is cheap even for people living in third world countries.
1 liter of bleach in my country (Croatia) cost 4,49 Kn it is 0.84 USD and according to one wilderness survival site you need 8 drops of bleach per gallon of water.
