You are comparing two cars that ARE NOT in the same class. The A8 is the largest 4 door sedan that Audi has which is compared to the 7 series and S class. The BMW 5 series is BMW mid size 4 door sedan and it is being compared to the the A6 and the E class. (Good Pictures, bad comparison)

A8 is much superior then 5-series. its direct competitor would be a 7 series of S Class. Personally im a BMW fan but given the choice i will take A8 over both the Merc and BMW. It is insane, i saw one at Audi's showroom in Munich. It was being brought inside for display and i tell you everybody remained silent for a time until it was parked. No body had any words to describe its beauty.

a8 might be a good car, i'm pretty sure, but couldn't drive it so far.

but i really hate the headlight-leds, because that looks just cheap and a car like 7series, sclass or a8 can look like everything, but not cheap. every vw golf or polo or opel astra has foglamps with led. i'm happy, bmw does only use angeleyes, not leds at the headlights.

b**locks, i have owned loads of both bmw and audi, bmw is the better drivers car when fitted with the great 6 pot engines but audi are have far better quality and reliability and look and feel better made and built, also even by mid eighties standards audis dont rust but bmws do.

That may be your opinion. And that's fine. But the fact is, Audi does not realy compete with BMW. The only real german competitor for BMW is Mercedes. Audi trys to compete but it falls a bit short. (just look at the price) BMW is still the best in my mind. I think that Mercedes is a bit of an old man's car.

this is a pretty poor comparrison. AUDI A4 is in same class as BMW 3 series / the AUDI A6 same as BMW 5 series and the A8 same class as the BMW 7 series / Just to all the bmw cars win in all classes over the audi's audi will always be playing catch up the only car audi has over bmw is the r8 bmw win in all the other classes
