The movies good but heres wat i dont get. Every one says that the "satellite" at the end of the film shown falling woke up the monster,BUT! That would be impossible because pressure would crush the satellite before it woke up the monster ( supposing that the monster would be really deep in the ocean, and it should be because we would've noticed it if it wasn't). Plus, whatever fell from the sky look like it crashed near the shore so it couldn't have gone that deep. Anyway, thats my theory.

If you are referring to the film you truly missed the point. It wasn't made to have a great story, it was made to convey realism through unrealistic means. Of course some actions the characters took were down right silly but the movie did establish a powerful atmosphere and that was exactly the point of the film. Thus it's ambiguity, thus it's lack of focus on the story. Sometimes great films don't need a great story but a great way to tell it. Remember that movies are of a visual medium.

Yeah, I think the movie was great because of that combined with the fact that you didn't see it from up above the monster (like in so many other monster movies) so that everybody else would've looked tiny instead of the monster looking huge. This movie came out on my birthday and I was so happy when I saw the first trailer months and months ago. I was like, "That'll be the BEST birthday gift ever!" Unfortunately, I just saw it yesterday cuz college got in the way and it was well worth the wait!
