Is the pickle fork the same as a ball joint seperator? Also what is the part that looks like the idler arm on the driver's side? Is there a need to replace it? Thanks

Oooook, good so far except for the part where you use your fancy tool to pop the arm off of the linkage - so do I have to go and buy one of those tools now or can I improvise?
I have a 1998 Chevy Suburban, been trying for two days to take off the "castle" nut. The giant 1 and 3/8's nut below the pitman arm. It wont budge. Took everything off around it. is it nessesary to have the cars wheels completely off the ground? I can't figure this out.

@fanaticacoustic Yes need to buy or rent at your local auto parts and is call ( Pickle Forks) you could use it to remove tie rod
