  • dazybug, I was almost in shock to look at some of the pictures, they are so like mine it is eerie. I lost a lot of photos when my hard drive got corrupted but most are still on my FaceBook account. Thanks for getting this all to come together in a video.

  • Wow. This actually brought a nostalgic tear to my eye. Thank you for the video. So many memories.

Was that Mr. Steele around the 17 second mark? Is he still teaching?

Class of '83 here. GO ARROWS!

  • why didn't u show oscar t hawk? it was technically a part of tecumseh

  • I had so many good times at that school !! I never wanted to leave, life was simple in high school and I even got truck of the month my senior year!! Thanks for the vid...Class of 97

  • sure do miss the schools I grew up n them since I was 8 yrs old has been an awkward journey but excited for our children and children to come that they are provided w a btr learning experience.

  • haha 0:19 my former best friend's dad and my current Physical Geology teacher. haha. Nice work Brian. Love the vid

  • good video for sure...Class of -98-

  • Another class of '79 here! Shows how in touch I am! Didn't know it was torn down till today! My brother stumbled across the vid here! Losts of good & bad days spent there... Probably why when I saw this I felt sad, nostalgic, happy & depressed all at once. Thank you for preserving it for us! I am forever be a Tecumseh HS alumni, Arrows all the way, but I won't have the same connection to the new building, the same memories, the same past, that I did with this one. That's ok too. Thanks!

  • I graduated from Tecumseh in 2008 which was the first to graduate from the new building. The New building was really cool but its nice to see these pictures again.

  • Awesome vid. Thanks for posting. It helped me remember how fast I wanted to get the heck out of there when I was a student. I just hope they didn't tear down the fence. Now that holds some good memories and good times lol!. Inside joke from the partying class of 79. Anyway, I digress. So goodbye old Tecumseh, good by Park Layne Drive In, good by youth. The great news is the new building is going to house a lot of great memories for the students who grace it's halls. Go Arrows Class of 79!

  • @fpfarley Hello and thank you for your kind words. That's exactly what I wanted from creating this video. I was afraid that THS Grads all over the world would someday want to come back to New Carlisle but then find the "old THS" was gone and no pictures or videos to hold on to for memories. So, I set out to creat this video. I hope to have one for McAdams made by this fall. I'm still looking for my old McAdams yearbooks.

  • Very touching. Thank you for sharing this. My mother taught at Tecumseh while I was growing up. I remember coming to the school many times. My mother was Mrs. Vicki Shelpman, an English teacher at Tecumseh during the late 70s and early-mid eighties. If you have any fond memories of her or room #227, please let me know. :)

  • I hope everyone has the same great memories in the new THS, as I did in the old THS!!

  • Awesome Video!! Thanks for Sharing!! 1985 Graduate with so many GREAT Memories!!

  • Awesome Video!! Thanks for Sharing!!

  • Thanks for posting this. I was up visiting family this past Thanksgiving, and drove by the new building. It was a shock, as I hadn't heard they'd replaced all the buildings in the district. It's amazing how many memories just the picture of one of the hallways can bring back. I can't say I really enjoyed my time there; heck I often imagined tearing the building down myself! Being down in TX now, I sure miss Ohio -- something as a teen I never thought I'd say. -- Class of '83.

  • Hello wanwastrel...You are welcome and thank you for your kind comments. I'm sorry the way you had to learn of Old THS, but that is why I made this video. I'm thinking of making a part II as I have hundreds more photos for all to see. Hope you share this with other fellow THS Alumni.

    ~Brian

  • That building was awesome. I may not have liked anyone in it, but I still loved that building...I was only able to spend 2 years in it before they tore it down. A very beautiful tribute<3

  • WOW! What a wonderful video and song choice. It's sad what "a certain someone" did with the Tecumseh Marching Arrows Band Trophies from years past(dumpster). I'm sure that ALL the Sports Trophies and FFA awards are inline and accounted for. I went to the THS auction in '07 to bid on them so that they could be given to THS Marching Alum and you couldn't leave us just one? I'm sure your office shelves sits ready for your future mementos. I have a suggestion where they can go: Up Your Dumpster!!!

  • SHUT UP THE NEW SCHOOL WAS... WAIT IS THE BETTER THAN THE OLD ONE!!! but good video...

  • Wow, I actually cried when I saw this. The last time I was in Ohio(2006), I stopped by and looked at the school...so many memories. Go Arrows, Go Buckeyes.

Gary Cunningham, THS class of 84

  • I hate it when they tore down all the schools in the district. My father and my brother have walked down those glorius halls. I am sad that I never will.

  • WOW! Great stuff.. I have been past the new school a time or two and when I do go past i cannot help but remember how great life was that moment in time, I miss it. Thanks for taking me back for a few.. Class of 95

  • Thank you for this video. I loved Tecumseh and I was crushed when I heard that is was torn down. I loved knowing as I walked down those halls that my parents walked down those same halls. Thank you so much. Theresa Frazier class of 2000

  • Thank you for posting this tribute. I graduated from Tecumseh in 74 and live in Tx. I came back the summer prior to demolition and got pictures of the old school including the Arrows emblem in the hallway near the front entrance and the old trophy case.

A lot of old wonderful memories and the beginning of many new ones.

    Thanks.

  • Please email! We are having our 50th reunion and I would love to have a picture of the old high school.

Barb Ballard Kennel 1959 graduate of Tecumseh

  • Thanks for putting this video up! My old stomping grounds... demolished. Sad. Memories of the school play... powder puff, trhowing the port-O-john in the lake... *sigh* Great times!

    Yes ,I think it is.

  • Go Class of 2008!!

    We are the future!!

    haha lol!

Reply if Mr. Ostendorf and Mr. Stoner were there when you went to school there,

    and list the year!

  • them two where get guys

  • I loved the old building! I did wish there was Air conditioning and Heating in certain classes but I wish the old building was still there. I remeber in Mr. Herb's 1 period Chem class the heater would shoot water at us and I had the seat right next to it.

I was able to get a brick for me and my brothers, and some friends that graduated fromt there years ago. It is sad but I will never forget the specail times there.

Thurl, there is a mess on aisle Tecumseh!

  • It felt sad watching the old building being brought down, but I really love the look of the new building! Listen anybody that graduated from Tecumseh 1988,please post and respond here. This is Winky from 88!

  • I've only been to this school twice but some of my fondest memories of high school took place here. I was a member of an AFJROTC drill team that competed at Tecumseh each year. I had no idea the school was being torn down. I remember performing in that gym like it was yesterday. :)

  • lmao i got a brick from there x D

  • Great vid i loved it i miss the old school so much the new one just isnt the same Class 08

  • I graduated in 2005. I remember the smell of the building,. all the teachers, even Mt Millers green house. I had so many memories. I nearly cried watching this. I haven't been back to see it in years. I can't wait to go back and see the new school, and all the new memories that will come with it. Thanks for the video.

  • "aww Mr. Miller's little green house :(" ... I agree.. :( Alright everyone, stand and sing it eith me: Hail Tecumseh High our school so dear, For the lessons thou hath taught. Our thoughts cling to thee through the years, For the memories thou hath wrought. Eric Cable, class of 1990 Keep thou thy standards high, So as our thoughts turn back, We may always view with pride, Thy Banner: the Red and Black!
  • Didn't we sing it Orange and Green on the band bus?

  • um... I don't recall that.

Actually, I don't recall ever singing the Alma Matter on the Band Bus.

  • I can't believe the old school is no more. My class had its' 25th Reunion this past summer and I snagged a brick from the pile while I was there looking at the rubble. I know the Class of 1982 will never forget the Old Tec High! I have so many memories wrapped around that building.

    Nancy Marine-Dickinson

  • nice slideshow, great song choice!

  • I wanted to see the new Tecumseh when I was there in August, but I didn't get to. This video just reminded me of the class of 1972! Thanks for the tribute. Amy Frank Young, california

  • Class of !60 Cherish your friends! Stay in touch! Don't underestimate your reunions!

    Wylie Benton Lipchik

  • From Class of '60! What a nice tribute! Take it from someone 65 years old. It's sad to see it destroyed but...treasure the friendships and memories, not the building. Don't underestimate the importance of the reunions! You have made friends that can remain with you all your life. My dear friends, although all over the United States, are from High School. Wouldn't trade them for anything! Also, the older you get the more you will apreciate your teachers!

Wylie Benton Lipchik Class of '60
