  • I'm in love with his voice...

  • @Beckysickles the comments i made were about brad delp the singer for boston.

  • hes gone now too , unfortunately, but, hes with amanda

  • amanda, from my understanding was his girl...she died, while the album was being imagined., he then wrote my destination...

  • It's a sequel to Amanda....

  • last line got to me, dammit

  • Brad Delp's voice was AMAZING. Long live Brad, We miss you!

  • My wife and I wedding (walk down the aisle) song :)

  • kind of a unique album......like a movie with music

  • Third Stage if anybody knows, was an entire album that told a story... kinda like Rush's "2112".... so all the songs in order tell a story.... just an fyi...

  • My God....it always gives me chills when Brad goes up there and gets those high notes in the 2nd verse. No autotune, no super-producers like todays pop "stars" have...just pure unadulterated TALENT! A voice from Heaven called back home far too early. R.I.P. Brad Delp.

  • He's not Brad Delp

  • It must suck to be the 1 person who voted thumbs down. Good luck finding a soul, my friend.

  • beautiful.............. miss boston so much!

  • who could possibly not love this song or be in a better mood after listening to it??!?

  • yup

  • AMANDA ... Last Number 1 song on the billboard charts that did NOT have an MTV type video,,,,,

  • Goes hand in hand with Amanda, really a deep song that makes me wonder everytime. Boston really has something other group can't grasp. Thanks for uploading the song in studio quality:D

  • It's not where you can be, it's what you can see, that takes you there... Your destination!!!

    A philosophy to live by!!!

  • This song is later in the album, Amanda is first, though it goes great as a leadup to Amanda.

  • I guess you could call this a "coda" or "reprise" to Amanda, for lack of a better term. If my dusty old memory serves me, when this was on vinyl (yeah kiddies, I AM so old I had vinyl lp's lol) "My Destination" was the final cut on the album. Whenever my Program Director (boss at radio station) would let me get away with it, I'd try to play Amanda followed immediately by Destination. Great songs both!

  • I know I may be out of my mind, but I always liked this song more than Amanda.

  • for.........sweet DEBBY V LINT ,my sweet inspiriation (Netherlands DUTCH girl) Who totally takes my breath away...............Love , wayne .d (vancouver. bc.canada)

  • brad your voice melts me everytime i hear it.... rip

  • Couldn't swing a sword and make this one any better. Kinda brings back the feelin of bein at the old skinny dipping hole with my beautiful girl friend having a picnic beneath the stars, and rockin out to some solid Brad Delp tunes.

  • Doesn't sound that much like Amanda to me.Different key.Different pattern.2 great songs though...They're still making great music!!

  • An underrated rock ballad here....These guys are too good to be in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame...

  • you put like a 20 second break at the end lol :D...anyways, such a sweet song

  • @SmookerFleetwood

The band themselves made that gap.

  • I want this played at my funeral.

  • memorable and poetic lyrics for such a good short song....

  • first time i heard this song is when i bought the album (the wax album) from a record shop, i still have it today on my wall. these songs mean so much and are timeless. boston is so good

  • i was named after the song amanda but i like this version better its prettier

  • If I were a girl I probably would have been named amanda also since my dad is a huge Boston freak lol

  • awesome!

  • Prelude to Amanda?

  • it is a variation of Amanda

  • @BostonWalksOn YES!!!

  • @KarmicOmen In the sleeve, I believe Tom Scholz explains the similar melody being like a reprise of 'Amanda...." if I'm not mistaken, both songs were written in different years..."Amanda" dates as far back as 1981. I don't quite remember what year "My Destination" was initially penned...given the rather conceptual nature of "Third Stage," the fact there's similarity gives it thematic cohesion. :)

  • @KarmicOmen

    It's called a "reprise"

  • Dedicated....to all my friends and fam in BC....Love.Wayynnerrzz. Dood.

    Esquire....

  • Rest In Peace Brad, I pray that you finally found peace! I hope you made it to your destination!!!

  • guitars just flow thru you, damn what a sound, then bring in brad's unique voice and its perfect!!!

  • Best song ever!!!

    Dedicated to Lulú!!!!

She broke my heart 16 years ago...

    And I'm still love her!!!!

Sorry, my english is' nt good enough...

  • dude, im sorry and no offense to u but if she broke ur heart u have to get over her

  • Just a little slip...

    Don't worry, it's gone...

  • Once you fall in love with a woman, even though she breaks your heart, you will always love her and never get over her!! That's just the way the heart works. I know exactly where elverdaderosol is coming from.

  • @spiderdragon1969 You know, my EX and I are in communication on FB and he told me this song reminds him of me... I can't help but wonder if he had said things like this when we were married if we would still be married. :(

  • @n2meec I have an ex who never said the nice things. I wish she had. I always said those things to her. By the way, I have a facebook profile. If you'd like to be facebook friends, send me a personal youtube message and I'll give you my real name. Thanks.

  • @spiderdragon1969 I hear ya

  • @spiderdragon1969 Hell don't know it... I was my 2nd hubby's first love... he STILL trys to keep in touch with me, and even though it's been since the 80's, I see no diff in him. Still the wishy washy putz he was then!!!

  • the beging sounds like amanda but its still excellent:)

  • its a reprise of amanda

  • i sincerly hope brad found his destination in heaven his vocals were a inspration to me since the first time i heard him no matter what band he played with!

  • Yeah, I completely agree, I hope he found whatever he was looking for.

When I hear this, it's almost like hearing Amanda again for the first time. This song to me, is like a touching happy story. I don't know how else to explain it. :)

    R.I.P. Brad

  • As much as I hate what my wife did to our marriage I will always love her and someday I will be right by her side, again, in heaven.

  • sing it brad, you are the man.

  • Is there a reason that this sounds SOO similar to their song Amanda? I mean its practically a carbon copy. Is it a lead in to the other song or did Boston accidentally plaigerise themselves?

  • This song is a variation of "Amanda."

  • tom did this on purpose. a mini song if you will.

  • @procrastinatingsfun All Boston song are pretty much the same thing. Just be glad you haven't heard them live.

  • @procrastinatingsfun A variation of "Amanda" makes it my favorite Boston song. It's just a shame it isn't longer. Amanda was written 6 years before this, Boston revisited it for Third Stage

  • @procrastinatingsfun its on the same record and if you listen to the entire record from first sont to last you will see that it is a concept album. Amanda opens the album and this song closes it. It was on purpose that it sounded the same. They work as bookends for all the tracks between them.

  • @procrastinatingsfun I would call it a reprise. It was at the end of side one of the Third Stage album.Side one,to me, seemed almost like one song with various movements on the same theme.

  • thats was so very nice to read.

  • Boston is amazing \m/
