Old church of the bible, where are you?? Born and raised in the Church (1960), Riverside, CA. My mother as well (1941). My
Mother told me of a time how people use to throw rocks at them because they were NOT Catholic (this was the Spanish works). Brother Felix Garcia was my cousin. I miss the old church.
We went every year. Every Aug for 1 week to the Assembly, We went to Fields of the Wood. Gave to the CPMA. Paid tithes. My dad gave his entire life in service to the COGOP. He was a Bishop and my mother was a minister. Some of the best memories of my life until I grew old enough to realize what hypocrites so many of the church members were. What a shame. They hid behind doctrine and lost the message of Christ. When my folks were sick and old the "Church" was no where to be found. Shame, shame.
I remember in the 70s and early 80s going to the general assembly with my parents. My father was a COGOP pastor in Lebanon Junction KY. The new assembly building was amazing and the business around Cleveland TN would have signs welcoming the COGOP delegates. MA Tomlinson would speak in those days and the White Wing Publishing House was brand new right next to the Assembly building. Afterwords we would make a trip to Fields of the woods.
