  • SIMPLY THE BEST...THE LIKES OF WHICH WILL NEVER BE SEEN AGAIN

  • Wow. I need to check out more of Mr. Charles.

  • Brings back memories - Ray at his finest!

  • Ray Charles at his best. You never hear this song on the oldies station. I loved this song from the beginning. The story that goes with it, I can't tell. But my heart was so broken...

  • @right2mike THANK YOU THANK YOU

  • Fantastic. This is the first time I have heard it. What a sly and seductive reading of these lyrics. And his playing is both restrained and wonderfully expressive and he touches one's heart every time he touches those keys. And the arrangement is genius. Thanks for posting this classic

  • Excellent! This and the other Ted Daffen song "Born to Lose." I also love the Bob

Wills version of this song which is the one I knew first.

  • Classic! Bothof Ray's 'Modern Sounds in Country and Western' are some of the best music he ever recorded and this is one fine song!

  • no one will ever get close to his version of this classic. his piano solo is sheer genius full of sadness and sweet regret, someone who can deliver this happens along once in a lifetime

  • Absolutely terrific. Been playing it over and over for two days. I'm a sucker for love songs and ballads and this is one of the best.....ever.

  • Oh, What a song well orchestrated by the legend of all time Ray Charles! "Ray Charles Music Lives on"

  • why would anyone give this a thumbs down????

  • @mralmeister1 They don't have a brain............ dumb & dumber !

Ray is the best musician to ever come along !........... just listen how beautiful he tells this story. omg...... he's perfect !

  • When country music was on the ropes and going down for the count this black man brought it back to its feet with his singing. All us young white men and women fell in love with his music......couldn't have cared less about his color. And then back came Willie Nelson with some unbelievably great music. The rest of the story is history.

  • He sings this song like I have felt twice in my youth. It is great he is GREAT

  • Ray I must Say, You Are "GREAT"!

    5 stars!

    Thank's!

    Curt

  • i tried to rate it 1 star..but my hand just wouldn't let me... like some godly voice was controlling it .. rating it 5

  • oh my worried mind.

    Sorry ich weine

  • I agree and could say the same about all the wonderful ballads on this album.

  • This is a great song from a great album.

  • it's one of my all-time favorites, and it's never gotten the attention i always thought it deserved.

  • @right2mike thank you for posting...... hey I'm not great at this maybe you could find "Cold Cold Heart" It was on this same album. It's a Hank Williams tune. But Ray does it wonderfully !! ;) T

  • @right2mike

I have always felt the same way about Ray's interpretation of this song. I love it to death.
