Ray Charles at his best. You never hear this song on the oldies station. I loved this song from the beginning. The story that goes with it, I can't tell. But my heart was so broken...
Fantastic. This is the first time I have heard it. What a sly and seductive reading of these lyrics. And his playing is both restrained and wonderfully expressive and he touches one's heart every time he touches those keys. And the arrangement is genius. Thanks for posting this classic
no one will ever get close to his version of this classic. his piano solo is sheer genius full of sadness and sweet regret, someone who can deliver this happens along once in a lifetime
When country music was on the ropes and going down for the count this black man brought it back to its feet with his singing. All us young white men and women fell in love with his music......couldn't have cared less about his color. And then back came Willie Nelson with some unbelievably great music. The rest of the story is history.
@right2mike thank you for posting...... hey I'm not great at this maybe you could find "Cold Cold Heart" It was on this same album. It's a Hank Williams tune. But Ray does it wonderfully !! ;) T
SIMPLY THE BEST...THE LIKES OF WHICH WILL NEVER BE SEEN AGAIN

Excellent! This and the other Ted Daffen song "Born to Lose." I also love the Bob
Wills version of this song which is the one I knew first.
