Not sure why you thought I meant specifically mortals, although mortals enlightened or not play a bigger role that as meat shields in the games I run . Curious what you mean for Call of Cthulhu? As a bit of a Lovecraft fan and former CoC player, I have not seen it like that before.
white wolf should make exalted into a videogame like they did with vampires the masquerade but with more content and length, actually if they are doing that can someone let me know
it's a game produced by white-wolf. It is a pencil and paper RPG. The main book gives rules for playing as solars, who onced ruled creation, but were usurped by their advisors and servants (sidereals and dragonbloods) because they became insane over time. Essentially, they are half gods, gods in the animistic sense that is, and many are more powerful than some full gods. A cult was set up in the absence of the solars that hates them and hunts them down and hides their real history.
@jonir66 Exalted is an awesome RPG with themes of power, responsibility, the good and evil we are all capable of, and point of view. At its heart is the simple idea that people can make a difference, even in a world of slavery, bureaucracy, empires, and disease. Many of the events, beliefs and practices of Earth's mythologies and histories feature in Exalted, remixed in ways that shed different light on them.
@mechanussunrise We are talking about Exalted, right? The world where mere mortals are considered meat shields unless they have somehow acquired Awakened Essence, in which case they are meat shields which might take a hit or two?
Because face it, the Exalted aren't "mortals", full stop. For Gaia's saké, they're generally *more* powerful than Gods!
@LordSia13 The Exalted are people too. Plus, most of the sovereigns and heroes in the world are mortals, from the Perfect of Paragon to the sky captains of the north and the captains of the legions. Either way, perhaps the most fundamental principle of the game is that people can matter and have mattered, particularly the player characters. Nothing about the world, whether its physics or Celestial Order are inherent and immutable. Everything is the product of choice and accident.
@mechanussunrise People, yes. Mortals, no. If you want a game where actual lowly mortals *do* make a difference, even in the face of the seemingly inevitable, I suggest you go play Call of Cthulhu or something.

Awesome. A bit short, but then again, with the Epicness of Exalted, can there ever be enough?
I don't think so.
Not in this Millennium.
