Louisville, ky really all and all made it out without a scratch in comparison to other places in the US such as out west.
@marshpit11 it was there i promise. Many times specially lately we get ghost tornadoes they appear transparent from about the funnel cloud down. Tornadoes are colored by the debri they pick up. witch is not very much since this was just born and turned out to be a touch and go. it was only on the ground seconds.
I called the NWS and told them there was rotation in PRP several minutes before the warning came out. WAVE 3 TV also started getting funnel cloud reports from PRP around that same time. The NWS should have issued the warning sooner, or extended the previous warning that they let expire. The sirens didn't go off for this tornado until just after the tornado hit the Downs...It must have been just after you stopped filming
Where i was at the time i was at my grandmothers and it was pitch dark at the time you took this cause of the clouds and we could see them forming in the darkest part of the clouds and then something hit and the sky turned purple and then orange
While every one was watching this, I was in my car about 15 feet in front of this thing trying to out run it. I managed to get to the tunnels at churchill as it was passing over me. It formed right ontop of my car!!

You know you have experienced a miracle when you were in the Super Cuts off of Central Avenue. My Grandma, Sanda who works there, and I were in the office room of the establishment when it literally passed over us and the entire shopping centre and Kroger. It had severly damaged Churchill Downs stopping in its tracks and skipped us through the clouds and had hit the Kentucky Stadium. We had seen trees, parts of houses and even roofs! I was the guy standing in the parking lot in the Orange polo watching the tornado going by. It was really cool. Not HORRIBLY scary but I can see the importance of respecting those things...
Dang, i drove through 1-64 around 5pm on my way back to WV...wished I would have stayed a bit longer. I would have see this...Just finished storm chasing for the year. Good Video!
It's amazing. Me and my family were visiting Churchill Downs/Kentucky Derby museum just yesterday and got lost this afternoon around the Stadium before this happened. We left to go back home at 2pm today after visiting. I just saw the clips a few minutes ago showing on the Weather Channel. Didn't even know this happened.
I was next door at the Starbucks at the time of this video. I watched it from the parking lot. It was really pretty amazing. This is about 300 to 500 feet from the store front TOPS. After the video stops the tornado hooked around the back of Kroger and then behind Cardinal stadium. What you see flying is a roof from one of the horse barns I believe.
@06orange1300c I was the guy in the white shirt that told came in and told everybody that a tornado was forming about two minutes before it hit! Small world...
