  • get the fuck off the stage loser

  • Jack is no where near the best guitarist. But he is still amazing!

  • you're stupid and the Mirror faggot on stage needs guitar lessens !!!!

  • @frankiev1231 And I'm sure you're so much fucking better than him right? I guess you should go die again somewhere Mr.Hendrix

  • why dose he have a mirror there ?? so he can see how stupid he looks playing this crappy ass solo's

  • @frankiev1231 hahah, die loser. :)

  • holy shit your recorder sucks

  • stay in england

  • why dont they use jack as a character in Guitar hero, but instead make him the guitar GOD

  • Yeah put some sponge or foam over youre phone or camera mic next time it should at least muffle the rattle.

  • Sounds like Blue Veins

  • fucking shit

  • "Watch in high quality for better audio!" ....

  • Jack is One of my top three favorite guitarists. Sometimes it isn't about "shredding" and playing hot licks no one else can play. Jack doesn't do that. I like him because he comes up with this stuff on his own. I like him becuase he really feels what he is playing. In every video of him I see this. Thats why he is such an amazing musician.

  • @blueveins1000 de que te fumaste?

  • chubby thunder! the hammer of the gawwwwwwwwds!!!

  • there should be warnings on vids like this *WARNING* will blow your ear drums into your brain

  • dude if anyone plays guitar here like i do they know hes good..anyone who disagrees wit hthat is just dumb so w.e

  • @QuinnQuinnell I play guitar. This guy's average. Nothing more.

  • @JimGrim90 Jack White is an awesome guitarist he just rarely "shows" by shredding which doesn't show absolute, yes it means you can play fast but the real skill shows through when you know what to play how to play it and when to play it and that is something Jack White can do while Singing, and Playing piano(sometimes)

  • @bug0292 I don't think I mentioned shredding in my comment. Just because he can play the guitar in a way that compliments the music doesn't mean he's some amazing guitarist. A good musician, certainly, and a decent composer, but not an 'awesome' guitarist.

  • @JimGrim90 your right hes not an awesome guitarists, hes an amazing guitarist in every way possible.12

  • @JimGrim90

JimG.- You're terrible, and you probably have a 2 inch penis too.

  • @shittybangbang321 wide..but it's half an inch long:)

  • @JimGrim90 i play guitar too and if you think that you really aren't "playing guitar"

  • there are thousand guitarists playing thousand times better than he does.

OP maybe just go and do his musichomework to learn what real guitarmastery sounds like

  • @zeittonCould not agree more, the kid is a shredder.

    Anybody can make noise.

  • watch the under blackpool lights dvd and say jack white cant play guitar. all the idiots think that anyone who isnt doing sweeps and three finger bullshit sucks. retarded.

  • @cmicah83 amazing move. actually its called under the great northern lights but still i agre

  • I think that when he say's he a 'decent guitarist' he's modestly only talking about his technical proficiency, and he's probably got it about right. Clearly the way he uses that proficiency is pretty amazing. He seems to be able to express a feeling of 'desperation' at times and that connects pretty well with a lot of people.

  • i freaking love jack white <3

  • My house just exploded, and Im wearing headphones. To me this is nothing short of Jimi Hendrix. This might be one of the best things ever recorded.

  • I do agree that to create great music a certain mindset is required, just like to be a great athlete you need to have great physical skill. Its all about one's personality. That said, there are many many many people who could make it big in music if they just pick up the guitar or took it more seriously. And there are many people who could be phenomenal athlete, yet choose not to be. The brain, like any other "muscle," can be trained, and its skills refined.

  • why do many of you guys think that any guitar player, or any musician for that matter, is anything but a normal person? All it takes is practice. Sure, certain people have more talent in the field of music than others, but the people you see who became famous by playing guitar just loved what they were doing and stuck with it. It sounds like sensational/motivational bull shit, but for the most part we can all do what we want if we work hard enough for it.

  • @BoothJudas it's good you said that, gives people hope

  • @BoothJudas not necessarily some people just have a natural talent. some can learn right away. it really depends. some people have alot of trouble learning rhythms.

  • @dwiedwoe this is true. but everyone can learn to be proficient...and sometimes thats enough. and one of my previous comments was flagged as spam. what the fuck

  • Nothing special here.......

  • just coz he can play notes fast does not mean he is good. you see it's not about playing notes FAST it's about playing notes RIGHT

  • @AChighvoltageDC extremely well said!

  • @AChighvoltageDC

He is playing notes "right". Anyway, what is your definition of "playing notes RIGHT"? It's a guitar solo, he can do whatever the fuck he likes. But if by "right" you mean in key, then he is playing in key, but judging by your last comment, you don't even know what that means...

  • @AChighvoltageDC Its not about always playing notes right its about having soul in the instrument your playing all the great guitar players aren't all known cause they play there notes "right" and or fast, the real legends in guitar playing are the ones that can captivate an audience by how much soul they produce in there playing anyone can get fast and shred and anyone can practice to play every note perfect but the ones that can bring soul into there playing are the real remembered players

  • amazing shaking head - amazing shitty sound - but where's the amazing solo???

  • @chrichton666 i missed it to , guess that makes me a hater...hahaha , or realist maybe?? guess i look for something different in a "guitar hero"...lolhaha

  • amazing sound quality

  • Y'all niggas be gay. That whiteboy can play a freaky stringbox. Why y'all be hatin' on him? He ain't hurt you none.

  • great but not the true jacks solo

  • Jack White. He is a guitarist. Not a great one, but decent enough. Guitar player magazine is designed to appeal to the masses. If you agree with it, or any other major publication regarding "best guitarists", you are a tool.

  • @KarlMarkis ...totally agree 100%...well said, best comment ive read tonight.

  • @KarlMarkis if you think jack white is a 'decent' guitar player, you're a tool.

  • @hansTowns Jack White has commented during multiple interviews that he considers himself a "decent guitarist", so I was actually quoting him, not giving my own opinion. He isn't just being humble when he says that though, he is being honest. He is a decent guitarist, and he is fine with that. I'm fine with it too. You should be fine with it.

  • @hansTowns he is way better than decent

  • the fact that this guy gets the credit he does makes me wonder. I know the audio here is not good, but i have seen it might get loud and i was scratching my head. the fact that these people are going crazy for his playing makes me think i should have got on a stage play like crap with an i don't give a shit attitude and I might be playing in front of large crowds now. Unreal !!

  • when it comes to any form of art "i could have done that" is not an argument, because you didnt do it. if its not your thing its not your thing, dont have to get all upset

  • i'm not upset, hey, lots of people like him so i guess he is doing something right, just not for me.

  • @ReadMyCommentBitch

    i agree 100% with this

  • @jemesp thats the entire point of jack white i mean if you look at hendrix and satriani you say how the fuck can they do that ill never be able to. but then you look at jack white and you think wow hes just a normal guy with a guitar no tricks or frills i bet i can do this. that inspires people to pick up a guitar my friend

  • i get it dude, just not ny taste. if you like him i suggest you buy all his material.

  • @weirdalfreakmm kinda of agree but jimi's and satch's are born probs once every 3 or 4 decades and jack's everyday...but i do get your point. but at the end of the day everything is possible to everybody. by the way jimi and satch and stevie vaughan and shawn lane and steve vai and rory gallagher etc etc were all just "normal guys with a guitar"...its just a pity that strange people describe them and depict them as "gods" that make jack look like a normal guy...suppose thats the difference tho!!

  • All of those players are great players, but I wouldn't call them "normal guys". There is an intelligence they possess which cannot be learned. It seems you are saying that with enough training anyone could be the MVP of the World Series... OR with enough studying anyone can fully comprehend quantum physics... While most people have the ability to be proficient in whichever arena they toil, there are certain biological limitations to all of our abilities.

  • 110% disagree with your comment however i respect it. I cannot understand how my comment lead to yours but anyway....lol. They were guys like me and you who LIVED to play guitar, thats the difference. Also i didnt once mention training however that is the key, coupled with passion, the right environment , commitment and inspiration and also life itself....bad sometimes brings the best out of somebody....and if your saying that you must be born with something...your maybe holding yourself back.

  • @rydochi and i must apoligise as i did not mean to get personal at the end of my last comment "your maybe holding yourself back"...i was generalising, as in if the great guitarists i mentioned believed that their idols were born with something which "cannot be learned" then they wouldnt of become what they did, inturn. And i suppose you are right we do have limitations all of the above mentioned...i.e..passion, the right environment ,commitment and inspiriation and LIVING to achieve something!

  • bad audio in louder moments

  • I agree 100% with squid and 300. It is not always about technical. Technical does not always make a sound a good one. Sometimes simpler is good and in that aspect this man is amazing.

  • Music is about conveying emotion in my opinion.... Which Jack White does really well.. So I think he is an awesome guitarist. To me it seems like these days people learn guitar just to impress people.. Instead of actually caring about music. That's my thoughts on if he's a "good guitarist".

  • i completely agree with you squid. i've been playing guitar for a long time and the best guitarists are the ones that put their soul into their playing. jack wants to show the duality within himself and loneliness of the blues in his guitar play. That raw sound makes him one of the best gutiarists.

  • I think Jack is decent, but a lot of what he plays just sounds like him smacking randomly at the strings. There's more to playing emotionally than going caveman on your instrument. Well developed mechanics and foresight can certainly improve ones ability to convey emotion.

  • zepredatesticles! hahaha - fool

i just crapped on your face

  • Haha fanboy mechanics incoming..

  • If you're really that desperate for someone to suck your dick then find an ugly chick on your level that doesn't mind or get a prostitute, and stop posting your adverts on youtube

  • at the end of the day...if anyone heard this guitar playing (audio only), not knowing it was sloppy jack on guitar, they would not be impressed. his stage antics and "emotion" as some say makes up for his lack of skill. suck on these nutz.

  • erm Jimmy Page was sloppy on stage, i am not comparing the two in anyway but i dont get ur point. ur probably one of those ppl who think all the great guitarists existed in the 60's and 70's but face it Jack White is very very good whether u like to admit it or not..

  • eh...he's boring. keep sucking sloppy jack's sack.

  • Then you can leave this video with a dildo. That way if you don't want to leave, you can still fuck yourself!

  • haha. funny you say that when you took the time to click the link. you know you like him! hah. he may not be my favorite guitarist.. but i enjoy most his work, and love his vocal work in most his music. but fact is, he's an amazing musician with a very original style, plus a different type of creativity than you'd normally hear. and theres not much of that these days, now is there?

its blue'ish, maybe thats why you dislike it. or find it boring.

go listen to nickleback. or creed... thnx bye.

  • theblackrider01010!!!! hahaha spoken like a true poser... worshipping your moms

  • maybe some would consider this poser a great songwriter, and you can respect that as an opinion, but this clown is not a pro guitarist AT ALL - that's not opinion - that's just straight up the truth. he's sloppy, choppy and can't phrase on smooth run on that guitar. he's a poser. hahahaha

  • riiiiiiight. technique is everything, SOUL POWER nothing...ugh...get back to your steve vai worship, ya wanker, OR grow a pair and realize that there's a lot more to great playing than perfect articulation. just my opinion ;)

  • no hes a pro at guitar ...u obviously wouldn't stand a chance...he has his own style which is modern and not old (not that old school is bad)

    called being original

  • I agree- no one on here knows what the fuck they're talking about.

Anyone on here who says Jack isn't a pro can step up and post something better.

Like it or not, The Stripes (and the rest of his work) will be played on classic rock stations in thirty years. There's lots of good reasons.

  • i dont know i'm suppose to respect your opinion when you say hes a poser...

maybe you should see some more videos before u make more comments

fact is he is pro at guitar...why hes on stage and your not you silly child youngen kid

  • AHHHHH... man i wish i was there!!!!

  • KIRK HAMMETT!!!!!!!!!!!

  • wooooooo

  • Something like this should be enough to silence anyone who tries to say that Jack White is overrated.

  • HQ audio is not good

  • Stop talking about friggin' guitarrist. A good guitarist is first of all a good musician!

"Listen, then Play"...most of the names you give are less impressive than a bird that can fly. A good guitarist shuts up, and let the others play, he does not need to show up.

And he does not jerk constantly his guitar!

  • i like sinister gates as a guitar player better

  • Those who can, do. Those who can't post stupid ass comments on youtube.

  • ba ha ha haaa!!! so fuckin true man!! hats off to you! :-)

  • just because he cant shred as good as paige dont make him a bad guitarist and the only reason people are saying hes not as good is because there not as good as him

  • page is not a shredder

  • actually he is the riff master and he could shred you fuckin face with a guitar solo.

  • lol its not that he couldn't do shred but its not his style

jimmy is a blues rock guitarist

  • I remember the first time I heard about Jack white years ago and people comparing him to Page, saying he's this day's Page. I'll never forget how dissapointed I was when I heard him. He may be a good song writer, but he's no guitar hero.

  • May be you don't want to acept, but JACK WHITE IS A GUITAR HERO.

  • @aliciahostclub what is more boring than a guitar hero?

  • @aliciahostclub jajajajajajaja

  • I depends on your source. Jack is very good at improvising.....so don't even go an listen to the white stripes albums if you think youll find his guitar playing on there. He saves the goods for the live shows : )

  • mm not feeling it dont blame me i just don't get any kind of feeling from his playing he's still a good guitarist though

  • Jack White can't even change John Mayer's strings out. Its true. Mayer is the guitarist to be held up.

  • John Mayer makes to much bubble gum pop to even be "held up". Sure he is a good guitarist, but if I have to hear him say "just say what you need to say" one more time, I swear I am going to fucking kill myself. John Mayer might be a better guitarist, but jack white is a better musician hands down.

  • White has more soul than Mayer could ever try to muster. Mayer however approaches genius (on the guitar). Santana and SRV are the premiere guitarists to ever live.

  • is everyone forgetting about SRV?

  • without page or hendrix there would be no jack, i wouldn't put him ahead of either of those two legends but he is definatly in my top 5, and by far the best guitarist still making music

  • But Jack White is incredibly sexy and dangerous when he plays the guitar. He feels the music like Hendrix and is transformed. He takes risks and never does anything the same. All attributes that make him trump Jimmy Page.

  • Come on guys, Jack White is the best this generation has seen yes, but he is no Jimmy Page. Until he writes a masterpiece like Kashmir, the Rain Song, or the Song Remains the Same you cannot say that Jack is on the same level as Pagey. He wrote Stairway to Fucking Heaven for christ's sake. Sure, Ball and a Biscuit is a good blues song, but it isn't Whole Lotta Love good. (yes, I know that Willie Dixon wrote the lyrics, but not that riff in E) He has a long way to go before he is Page status.

  • Jack is WAAAAY past Page!

  • no.

  • I'd like to see him get to the level of "Achilles Last Stand"

I love the White Stripes, but I could never compare them to Led Zeppelin.

  • Comment removed

  • we're not saying that hendrix etc are not good.. they're great but these guys are good as well. firstly, can you play better than them, secondly ppl have diff taste pal. so take it easy

  • Fuck you. Fuck everybody like you. Annoying Steve Vai-humping elitist faggots. You have no idea what you're talking about. For you to say Jack White and John Mayer aren't GREAT guitarists just makes me know you're an idiot. I hope you don't play guitar. Hendrix and Page are most certainly playing in the same vein as Jack White.

  • Neil Young would be proud.

  • blue veins

  • jack white, unlike a lot of bands nowadays that play the same shit over and over again, is a true music artist, and definitely one of the greatest musicians of all time

  • His use of a Bronze Master pedal is insane and the way he uses a blues scale is amazing. You're all ignorant to think he doesn't compare to Jimmy Page, Tom Morello, Jimmy Hendrix, Buckethead, etc

  • bronze master? i think you mean big muff PI

  • was this from their first show in montreal?

  • second in 2008

  • great guitarist amazing ! one of the best in this 21th century ! maybe a future guitarhero ?

  • I was there, seriously amazing <3<3<3<3<3

Its always a good thing when jack does solos cause it means hes feelin the crowd

  • People always talk about playing with emotion too, how the hell do you gauge that? I know its pretty obvious when someone is robotic, or just standing there, but how can you expect to take White and Page, and then claim one has more emotion then the other? You can't measure that!

  • jimmy page didnt sell out he just made amazing music this guy plays 3 chords and calls it music lets se him creat something as amazingly comosed as the rain song or stiarway to heaven.... hes a pretty good guitarist but hes not in the top 100 or 500 hes good just not great like page clapton vai satriani etc.....

  • and yet again you dont think about what you are saying before you say it. i dont hear a single chord thru this whole thing!

  • i was refraining to some of his songs..... i guess hes a pretty good palyer just not my style that much

  • I would consider him in the top 100. Becasue he is one of the few guitar players you can notice their personality on their playing. ike right away its jack white. PLus he captures the essence that Jimmy Page did. Not saying he's better, his presence is like of his.

  • yeh i guess i get what ur saying man i guess he does have essance i mean atleast hes not all about the shred like most people and he does have feelign so hes pretty good.... but its just he doesnt stick out that much from otehre guitarists but i guess its really hard to make ur own uniqueness nowadays cuz so much has been done in the guitar world

  • But he did a better job than others in standing out. but i see your point. I agree that it is very hard to be distinc tnowadays since everything has been done.

  • thank you for finally admitting it

  • the fact that your name is jimmy page wanabee leaves no shock that your biased toward him, he may not be as great at it as jimmy page, but wether u like it or not, he is a great, and he's still going..and he might not be a better guitarist but he is a BETTER MUSICIAN, in the sense he can sing, do drums, do piano, do guitar..jimmy page can do only 1 maaayyyybbbeee two..you don't have to like jack white, but you should at least respect him..and if u can play like that, post a video, lets hear ya!

  • not takin a side but jimmy page plays more instruments than jack white. Guitar, mandolin, dulcimer, theremin, bass, banjo, harmonica, sitar, hurdy gurdy, and pedal steel guitar are all played by jimmy

  • learn to spell

  • Jack White is a great guitarist. He blends pop, rock, and heavy blues. His music is simple, though, that's the style he likes. Just because he doesn't play blazing fast solos doesn't mean he's not good. Get over that misconception.

  • lol i dont like blazing fast solos

  • i'd say theres a bluegrass flavour in there too.

  • Jimmy Page stuck to basics too my friend, he was one of the pioneers of the power chord. There are about 5 chord shapes that Page used 90% of the time.... Whole Lotta Love, Good Times Bad Times, Communication Breakdown... Even the intro to stairway is nothing super complex, and when it gets to the rock breakdown it pretty much delves into power chords again. Same with Over the hills and far Away. Why do people look at oldschool guitarists with such bias, like they are untouchable or something?

  • They are untouchable, that's why.

  • I agree with you about the power chords, man. Yes, they were, and still are totally over-used. BUT... you still have to admit that what Page, and other power chord-heavy guitarists like Iommi, were doing at the time was totally new. If you think about it, Sabbath and Zeppelin essentially invented "heavy" music. Plus, with it may be simplistic in structure and chords, you have to admit that Zeppelin's music KICKS ASS! Am I right?

  • It's not about them being over-used or not, if it works it works. Power Chords just happen to have a special quality to them when distorted. And Zeppelin does kick ass. I'm just responding to someone who claimed that Jack White is a bad guitarist for being simple, and then went on to praise Jimmy Page. It's hypocrisy.

  • When did I ever say that Jack White was a bad guitarist? Hypocrisy? Next time, you should first asses what someone says before you attempt to criticize them for it. Asshole.

  • Whoa, calm down. I wasn't talking about you, what I am saying is that I was responding to someone, also known as NOT YOU, which was why I brought up the whole chord thing. Look at page 2 and read jimmypagewannabee's post. No need to be a PMS Paulie.

  • Sorry, man. My bad...

  • haha you said asses

  • ur definitely a page fan if u dont see the resemblence of page in this video and jack white is really good, not as good or near jimmy page but better than satriani, how could u say that name with jimmy page in the same sentence

  • steve vai and joe satriani aren't too good all they can do is shred.if you take them away from shredding they can't play. jack white has many styles he can play in unlie them

  • dude are you serious? they have fucking degree's in music you fucking retard!

  • my band teacher has a degree in music, but guess what. i can play most instruments better than him and he's twice my age. a degree doesn't mean anything idiot.

  • There's no school for rock and roll though pal. No degree. Unless it's taught by Jack Black.

  • name 500 better guitarists then

  • o and before i forget, STOP TROLLIN! IF YOU DONT LIKE THIS STUFF YOUR A DUMBASS AND NEED TO PROMPTLY NAVIGATE AWAY FROM THIS PAGE!

  • hes ok but nowhere near good like jimmy page is the greatest of them all and like gods like vai clapton srv hendrix santana bb king slash joe perry satriani etc this is just an aver age pop guitar player

  • When it's all said and done and his career is over, Jack White will be considered one of the greatest guitar players ever. To call him average is simply idiotic...try doin a little more research

  • for a true amazing solo just for a example check out alvin lee from ten years after.

  • Honestly now.. this is farrr from an "amazing" guitar solo. How on earth was Jack White voted one of the worlds greatest guitarists???

  • Um, have you ever actually seen Jack play live? Post a comment when u've been properly educated

  • Properly educated?? Can u even play a guitar? If not, then your in no position to speak of 'education'.

Furthermore, if you DO play an instrment, to think that "he" is above standard, is just ridiculos.

Tell me what it is, that makes you think this a solo is above a standard session musicians...

  • now answer me this, you say this is just an average guitarist and that this solo is just an average session, then do you say the same for jimi hendrix? i mean jack plays very similar to how hendrix played and both improved alot of solos off of feeling, like this one. so i mean at best you would be saying hendrix is an average guitarist and his solos and music were basically just "standard sessions". i agree you do need to be properly educated nd btw i do play guitar so dont drop that one anymore

  • because he is better than half of the people commenting this will ever dream to be

  • On the rolling stones top 100 guitarists Jack White made the list yet one of the most iconic and renound guitarists of all time slash did not, what the hell was the editor thinking D:

  • with his uhhmmm brain

  • i agree slash has no soul, just plays notes like a robot in my opinion. Jack plas with feeling, im not a slash fan., dont slate me its an opinion

  • i agree to a certain extent, slash does have some good times, just very few and far between, but jack on the other hand is like jimi alive again!

  • indeed he is! slash is sooo predicatable as well. i mean u know a jack white solo is going to be crazy, but its just so expressive. slash just stands there emotionaless and plays note after boring notes

  • HA, Slash has no soul...you're funny. He may not move around much, but he puts his soul into his music. Him and Jack White are both awesome.
