Great product, BUT, you don't make any holsters that will accommodate a laser sight on the picitanny rail, I have a Springfield XD 4" bbl, and bought a Blackhawk std retention paddle holster, just peachy, but...CAN'T USE IT IF I HAVE THE Stingray Armalaser on the rail. It's only 1/4" thick x 1.5" long but of course still won't fit when attached. Are you ever going to make a holster to take guns with attached lasers? It wouldn't take much work to make it 3/8" wider in the front.

Question, I am looking at the Serpa holster for my glock to conceal carry. I am looking at the Level 3 Serpa, but can you use it as a conceal carry holster, or is the level 2 better for that. Would appreciate feed back. The reason I am looking at the Level 3 is because it has one more locking system?
If open carry is all you can do, level 3 is ideal. I use level 2's everyday with no issues, love blackhawk serpas. I will be a customer until they make a shitty holster.
just wondering how easy is for someone to walk behind and draw out the pistol from this kind of holster right now i have the safariland with the thumb guard which digs into my side, secure but sure not for comfort
no one should be that close to you in the first place. if someone grabs your secondary weapon, it's your que to shoot them with your primary. i'd much rather prefer the serpa over the safari. the safari digs into my thigh and drags my belt down.
I had the holster break from the mount. The screws broke right off. I had a pal in a foot pursuit have the same thing happen leaving him unarmed. Not good for Law Enforcement
@Jimmymac504 My dad was a cop and he never seemed to have a problem. I'm curious now though since i recently inherited it and his TLE. Was it the screws themselves that broke or the plasitc around the mountings? Running full sprint with that kind of weight would be pretty strenuous, especially if a light is mounted, but I would think 3 stainless screws would be strong enough.
@snakeeyes20a Yea I've seen them around.. Miami/Ft. Lauderdale, Baltimore, elsewhere. The ex-military guys definitely seem to like them, including the drop-leg version.
I used this holster when we had our glocks but since I made the switch to the Px4 I went back to safariland and only because they don't make the serpa for them.
Im sure as we speak they are working on them or getting ready to release. With such a big gun like the XD's, blackhawk is gonna want a piece of the pie....
I wish it were so, but according to the e-mail I received back from customer service it doesn't sound that way (10/29/09):
Good morning,
We do not presently have a Level 3 Duty holster for the XD in the planning stages. I do see notes that say we are looking into adding the Level 3 Duty but not until sometime next year. Im sorry I cant be more specific in a time frame. Please let me know if there is anything else I can assist you with. Thank you for choosing BLACKHAWK!
Honestly, it may a bit but I doubt it. I just bought a Level II holster and I love it, a few scratches shouldn't bother ya it's a gun =D. Just take care of your weapon and enjoy the security of the holster!
@quest8899 If you're training regularly, chances are you will replace the gun before you replace the holster from what I've seen. It won't scratch, might slightly marr or burnish some of the surfaces, but nobody will notice but you.
I love videos that teach the bad guys how to gain access to our handgun. Good job!

@anarchy3155 Anyone can own them. Law enforcement prefers them
ariodsenuke 3 months ago
I was wondering. Is the level three strictly for law enforcement? Or can civilians also own one?

Is the level three duty the only one that comes in basket weave?

This is the best holster ever made. This should be the standard for all holster companies.

They need to release these for the Springfield XDs
AZRaptor 2 years ago 10
Agreed! As well as having it with a weapon light. I think they should also add a lining that way it doesnt mar the blueing on your gun

no it does not. it's carbon fiber, basically plastic. it's actually a pretty nice holster.
2scrappy4u 2 years ago
It's Kydex not Carbon Fiber. But they do make Carbon Fiber holsters if I am not mistaken.
JoeOnTheRoad 2 years ago 3
@JoeOnTheRoad Actually, they only have carbon fiber for cosmetics. I dont think they make a full 100% carbon fiber holster.

btw I just checked mine, and no scratches at all.

Kydex holsters, including the SERPA models, actually wears less on your gun than a leather holster.
