it has a tube in it to make solid state amps brighter, and sound more valve like

It has a 12AX7 tube inside of it for a tube distortion sound *Fire setting*. Slayer setting = Solid State.

umm, no, i have it, and the tube characteristics kick in also on the slayer setting.

Agreed. "Slayer" switches on a solid-state distortion which is then fed into the tube OD.

the clone one is the maximum and silver dragon a little bit lower the gain.

I tested these two pedals in band room with tube amp.

Both two pedals can get enough gain with a tube amp, but weak in combo amp =(
