wow! interesting, i must say I've played Torin's Passage alot of times when I was younger but I never encountered any glitches at all. didnt even know it was possible
LOL... I played this game about a dozen times and saw many weird things, but this never happened... all the stumps coming back up, Torin walking over lava and turning into a midget... ;.)
After the video ended I was basically stuck down there because Torin wouldn't be able to jump onto the little platforms, or do anything else really. Good thing I saved though.
I'm sorry I haven't been able to reply to your other message...I just used CamStudio for this, I don't really see any reason why it shouldn't work for you...Though I'm using Windows XP, and I think you said you use Vista...also after loading the game I'd suggest changing the color settings on the computer if loading the game makes the colors look very low quality...
It's fine, thanks. CamStudio captures my cursor but not my actual game screen for some reason. I run the game in compatibility mode for Win95, 256-colour but I guess I'll just keep trying!
Well, in the start menu, go to Torin's Passage and right click it and click on Properties (at the bottom). from there, click on the tab labeled Compatibility, and check the box that says Win 95 compatibility mode
You can run it on Vista like I do. I can't be certain whether or not the fact that I have DOSbox installed matters or not but I'm pretty sure that you need it.
There was one glitch where one of the Pergolans was talking but he sometimes wasn't there. Instead it just showed a close up of a rock. Normally, without the glitch, the Pergolan takes up the whole game screen.
I saw that one for the first time yesterday! I THOUGHT that was weird when I noticed it. It happened after the scene with Leena tending to Torin's wounds when the chieftan or whoever starts talking to them. I was clicking real fast through the dialogue and that might have triggered it.
Too fast? Hmmm, if you go to properties of the game (right click the game icon) there may be ways there to make it work. If that doesnt work, and you're really gonna go through with the buying of an old computer to play old games, uhhh, try a Windows 95..? I mean, I've still got one, and that's what I've used a long time ago to play them.

eBay has it but it only works with Windows 95.

Actually you can run it on later versions of Windows by using Windows 95 compatibility mode.

LOL. Half of the humour in Torin's Passage came from the occasional glitches.
This one is pretty good.

Eh? I don't remember any other real glitches in this game other than this one. What were some others then?

You can set the speed in Dos-box, you have to install the game for dos though.
