This was the best NASCAR season ever. Not only was it the first year the top 10 drivers in points "raced to the cup" to make everything even more fair, but it was the last year of Rockingham, and even better, this was during my mid-teen years when I was a HUGE fan and I wanted to set the goal of taping all the races in a single season. And after failing two previous times, I taped all 40 races in 2004. Good thing I saved them all

@lonchi95 Since 1979, all the pole winners from the past season run in a 70 lap race for a bonus from Anheuser-Busch, but recently, it involves top drivers representing all four manufacturers, pole winners, and past winners of this race.

They used to call it the Busch Clash, however, it became the Bud Shootout until it became what it's known today. I just can't wait to see the racing on Daytona's new surface. They waited thirty two years to repave it, it's about time.

This was my first Shootout, and I've been to every one since (except 2006). And it's still the best one I've seen.

what i love about the shootout is when ya get 2 see the brand new paint jobs and driver changes on the track for the first time. as a kid that was awesome.
