  • @kulmansam no problem

  • nice but the translation is not correct for swahili learning

  • @bukavianer Thanks for the comments, in the future if you have a good song to suggest with good translation, I am open. The goal is to share the language. Is there a song off the top of your head I can use for Swahili learning/teaching?

  • Fantastic.. I used to hear this when I was a child, but hadn't heard it for years.. Always wondered where I'd find the song / lyrics.. Reminds me of the good old times, the beach hotels we used to go to and the live music / dance we used to enjoy.

  • @KapadiaMr I was excited to find the song too!!

  • pes 2011!

  • a little bit of correction......It is not PAKIENI SALAMA ......it is BAKIENI SALAMA....which means...stay/remain well, be good, take care...in kiswahili....otherwise, quite a good translation.

  • @mylandiskenya thanks :o), I kept listening and listening and that is what I heard. I hope everyone listening here will read your comment because it is very tidious to to recreate the file, cannot even be corrected on line now.

    Asante sana

  • @MsDisneychannel1 Cool isn't it? Some old numbers are quite nice.. I like the creativity. Today most songs sound alike, the ones that become hits do not sound like the rest :o)

  • I'm happy to understand this song at last. I learned some swahili at university.

  • @Ragapuma Really? and you knew this song too? or did you just hear it here first? It used to be famous when I was a little kid

  • @kulmansam This song is in a collection of singles in my family

  • @Ragapuma Oh! That's cool!

  • Jambo bwana! I am very new to kiSwahili and have loads of questions! I would first like to ask: The lead female singer....she sounds so very familiar ...is that Miriam Makeba?

  • @MrHatefulone no she isn't, I did not even know this band name until I looked them up recently!

    so beautiful

  • @BregyptianMuslim :) interesting observation.. if you are following my videos you will note that I had mentioned earlier a lot of influences fall on the Swahili (sawaahil) language including Arabic (where the language name stems from

  • Mambo rifiki yangu.
