My flip camera's screen suddenly went black,i didn't drop it and it still works but the screen is black so say i want to video tape something i have point it to were i think the action might be. i have tried reseting it 2 ways and it still doesnt not work. Is there any way to fix this? and if there is n basic solution were can i get it fixed at?

mine did that until we left it on the charger for like 4 hours { partly becuase our computer kept turning off and partly becuase it just died and hadnt been charged forever} and after it finally turned on

@BlinkRach2 If you're concerned about breakage, you could either get a third party warranty that covers breakage from a company like SquareTrade or go with a camcorder that is tougher, like the Kodak Zx5.

@bookandfilmwormk All of the Flip HD camcorders should produce identical video quality, as they have the same sensors and very similar lenses. And yes, you can edit the videos on Movie Maker or any other standard video editing program that can handle H.264 encoded files.

the one thing flip should work on first is making it wide angle. i have to stand way far back just to get someone in the shot. allowing us to take pics wouldn't hurt either. more memory is great too but the one thing i want most is a wide angle!!!

@YamahaBanshee21 Does not have WiFi. Like other Flips, it has the little flip-out USB connector, so it's easy to download files to your PC that way.

@EBDCinc When in playback mode, touch the screen to bring up the controls and you'll see a little progress bar along the bottom. You can touch any point along the progress bar to skip forward or backward (it's not real obvious in the directions how to do this and it took me a bit to discover it). Note that this only works with the screen flipped up.

@TechliciousMedia Actually if you have it folded and your playing back a video if you hold the back key or forward it will re-wind or fast forward. Just hold it and give about 5 seconds or so.

@AceDitGirl You can pause videos while playing, though it takes a couple of seconds for the controls to come up on the touchscreen. You can't pause while recording, but the included software lets you join clips together.

@GreenDotDress Sort of a trade-off depending what's more important to you. The Mino is $50 less and will be a little bit slimmer and lighter. The Slide records 4 hours (vs 2 for the Mino) and has that whole slide-up screen going for it.

Video quality from the two should be identical and most other features are the same.

@GAM3VIDZ Well, it's missing some features that are important, such as image stabilization, and it's heavier than other pocket camcorders, such as the JVC. But the pop-up screen is great if you have kids and think you'll be giving it to them to play with, or you'll want to show-off your moviews in some other group setting.

Personally, I would go for IS over the pop-up feature, but that's based on my usage needs.
