Speaking on behalf of a woman that was raped, I understand the pain of "loosing my innocence" being raped, its very very painful; - even more painful than this is abortion. If I would have had a baby I would have made the choice to love and nurture this blessing of a baby. Those women that do get pregnant from a rape- are blessed that someone/something so great came out of something so terrible!

I'm a high school student and a christian.my history teacher asked who is for abortion and who is against it. only three people raised their hands against abortion and the rest of the class was for abortion. One kid said that a three month old baby isn't alive yet... I said a baby's heart starts beating at two weeks.. which means they are alive. I believe that at the moment of conception a human life begins and I don't think its the mothers right to end that life. I agree abortions should be reduced, none would be great but would only occur in a perfect world. They would be reduced because the number of unwanted pregnancies would be reduced. An abortion to me usually signifies that the couple was not careful enough to prevent conception. Abortion would occur anyway if it was illegal, it would just me much more dangerous 90% of the time. You would risk killing one person and also another "person" or whatever you want to call the pre-20 week pregnancy.
I don't think this issue will ever be sorted out... I'm pro-life but I am always striving to educate myself on the issue...it's important to keep an open mind and recognize both sides.
Well, I was on the verge several times of commiting heinous crimes mainly due to the fact that I suffer from severe bipolar disorder (which I am successfully undergoing treatment for). There have been times I've thought abortion would have been better for me. I don't exactly think that way anymore, but a lot of pain on my part would have been spared, as well as other people. Apologists will try to come back with "but humans have a choice," yet we really don't if their god has some master plan from the beginning. I have to say I don't know where my eternity lies. I believe we are alive for only this life, and I work to try and make it as good as I can. I don't just try to get by on the "hope" I'll have a better life after this one. Also, quick note - if memory serves correct, the first person to rebel against God was Lucifer. And what happened to him? He got his own kingdom, which if the scripture is true, has far more people than heaven. Not to mention if God is all knowing Lucifer only did God's will.

I'm a high school student and a christian.my history teacher asked who is for abortion and who is against it. only three people raised their hands against abortion and the rest of the class was for abortion. One kid said that a three month old baby isn't alive yet... I said a baby's heart starts beating at two weeks.. which means they are alive. I just couldn't believe how many people were for abortion... it was horrible.

I agree abortions should be reduced, none would be great but would only occur in a perfect world. They would be reduced because the number of unwanted pregnancies would be reduced. An abortion to me usually signifies that the couple was not careful enough to prevent conception. Abortion would occur anyway if it was illegal, it would just me much more dangerous 90% of the time. You would risk killing one person and also another "person" or whatever you want to call the pre-20 week pregnancy.

Well, I was on the verge several times of commiting heinous crimes mainly due to the fact that I suffer from severe bipolar disorder (which I am successfully undergoing treatment for). There have been times I've thought abortion would have been better for me. I don't exactly think that way anymore, but a lot of pain on my part would have been spared, as well as other people. Still, if I had been aborted, oh well. God put me here on earth to be pro-choice, among other things!

What's interesting is presidential candidate Mike Huckabee wants to put an amendment to the constitution to make abortion illegal once and for all. My how we miss the opportunities that God has given us to see His will prosper. I know God's will prevails no matter what, but this is an opportunity that was missed in not getting an advocate in the White house that would have been an instrument against the murder of the innocent. I do have to say one thing. All you pro-choice men who aren't ready for children listen up! If you have an interest in a female, make sure she isn't anti-choice and make sure she is on the same page as you. Make sure you use contraception. And make sure if it fails she has pledged to terminate the pregnancy. If she's pro-life at all, do not even kiss her! End the relationship, NOW! Better yet, don't have sex until you're both ready for kids, that way the subject is much less messy.

Yeah, murder is murder, but abortion is just abortion, not murder. Why do all of these people have such a fascination over another woman's uterus and its contents? If she screws up and gets pregnant, if she wants a doctor to clean out the contents of her uterus, it's her decision, not the church, not the government's.

& you're right, a baby is not a choice. A person or object cannot be a choice. Whether or not you will continue to provide it life is the choice. You pro-lifers need new expressions.
And you may call it whatever you want, it makes no difference whether you call it a fetus, zygote, embryo, child or baby in my book. I use all those terms.
