@nicksfuturebabe Henry just allowed his wife to remarry after he was gone. I'm guessing that Elizabeth felt a little insulted because of the wives he killed and divorced (and probably also because of her mother, who was killed for supposedly 'cheating' on him).

since I was pregnant I could not have sex
.. so were the other women their fun .. He really loved Anne, but because it would divorce of Queen Catherine? He struggled to Anne, because he loved her. If she had not been dead, I know he would stay with heruntil the end. :)
And, he knew the accusations against Anne were false! He just hated her by that point because he never loved her; he was obsessed with her because she was the opposite of Catherine of Aragon
@WestEndGirlxx He never loved her? Don't be ridiculous, this is the guy who turned his back on his religion just so he could be with her. Or how about the multitudes of love letters he wrote to her that can be found in various museums? Saying that he never loved her, or that he was only interested in her because she was the opposite of Catherine of Aragon is a joke.
@MagicalPants Yes, the love letters, the fact he broke with the Pope, in my opinion, are evidence of his obsession/infatuation with her. I think there is a difference between that and real love. And, I'm not saying I know what Henry VIII was thinking, but I think because he was so able to switch from this passionate love to detesting her, showed he never truly loved her for her.
@MagicalPants I also phrased the CoA thing wrong. He "loved" Anne because she was everything Catherine wasn't. He was bored and tired of Catherine before he fell for Anne, and he wanted something totally different from Catherine. Catholic/Reformer, Obedient/Hotheaded, Spanish/French there opposition in many aspects is clear! Henry loved the "courtly love" type thing, and his obsession with Anne was just an embodiment of that.
At the same time, he hated bits of all of them. Henry was in love with bits of all his wives, but not the whole of them. But he never loved one of them wholely. He was in love with the elusive courtly love woman.
i agree with you lawrence, i admire her because she was so brave to become a Queen despite all the things she went through, it wasn´t her fault to put herself in Kin´s way, she did it because her ambicious and evil father forced her to do so; she was innocent in all the charges against her, the court was a very dangerous place it was difficult to survive in those kind of places. Elizabeth looks like her mother in every way sometimes when i see her i see Anne, her mother.
I don't believe that Henry loved Anne the most. Perhaps he loved her with all his heart, then simply stopped for life. And death. I don't think he loved any of his wives more than the other. They all gave him things the others couldn't.
@toonbrown1 that's a really good and interesting point. henry had so many wives because of his arrogance. his greatest true love was himself. he couldnt put any of them first. and yes each gave him certain things the other couldn't and each held a different interest, but i still believe the two which were most beloved in his heart were anne boleyn and jane seymour. jane was his ideal version of what a perfect queen should be and anne boleyn was his true and greatest desire and passion.
As to why Elizabeth walked away at the end: I think it's to show her strong character while Mary and Catherine are 'crying.' She can control her emotion and does not get swept away by a sentiment invoked by Henry's dying tone.
You can also see how much Elizabeth was actually Anne's daughter, including how she was not crying or showing any true sadness at the fact that her father was going to die. There is a possibility that she knew what he did to Anne, and feels that there is the possibility of that being some form of justice.
and I think that the reason Elizabeth walked away is because even at 14 she knew a woman's place....she knew what happened to her mother and she knew women were a commodity to men. She admired her father and wanted to be like him. I think she was showing she was.
Elizabeth and Edward were very close - much closer than Mary was, probably because of the age differenes (Mary was 17 when Elizabeth was born and 21 when Edward was born)....Elizabeth,and Edward were at times, when it suited the King, educated together and they had the same religious beliefs which Mary didn't share. I don't think the depiction of the dreams or his death are a true indication of how he died or how his children felt about it.
I'll never understand why Elizabeth walked away but I believe she did so cry on her own. Elizabeth stuck me as a strong person in front of her father because she wanted him to see that she was indeed his child. I believe she left to cry and be left alone for a while. So that she could full take in that she was about to loss her father.
Anne had the most impact. Maybe Henry beheaded Anne becuz he felt, in his view, 2 dependent on her. I watched a historically accurate show about injuries Henry suffered while trying 2 look manly: several jousting accidents & multiple leg injuries while constantly having a full meat diet. 1 thing I noticed was that the accidents came either while Anne was pregnant or after Anne's death, perhaps she kept Henry somewhat in check when it came 2 unnecessary risk?
They should have also included Katherine Howard, after all they say her spirit still haunts Hampton Court. would have been interesting to see his reaction.
@PhillAlexandros i totally agree. I was mad when they didn't show her on the last episode with his other 3 wives. Instead of having her child next to her [like all the other wives] she could of had Culpeper and told Henry she was happier with Thomas than him, or something
@Chloe2396 Its more than likely that there would have been, after Katherine died he would have re married, if not before that if another Anne Boleyn was on the scene. He was DESPERATE for a son.
@Chloe2396 Anne could've paraded through the palace naked! All was done by the King's will. It was Henry that broke Catherine's heart. Even before Anne went after her position, he asked Anne to be his offical mistress ("maîtresse en titre") because she wouldn't sleep with him. Remember that Anne didn't want Henry at first; she had a "love match" w/Henry Percy. Henry pursued HER. Anne didn't want to be the King's "whore" like her sister Mary had been--Mary was even called "the great prostitute."
It wasn't Anne that banished her from her home and sent her daughter to her own residence. Henry did that.
And Please don't believe everything you see on TV. Catherine of Aragon died in a Castle, not a cottage--specifically, she died on January 7, 1536 in Kimbolton Castle, Cambridgeshire. This stuff is just too easy to google.
@Kherudjhuti Yeah, you wanna put up the cast to build a stage set for that? Or give HBO the money to rent out a castle for that scene? It's TV. They have limited resources and sometimes tailor the truth to fit the story. If you want facts, watch the history channel.
@Kherudjhuti Although, I agree. I loved Anne's Character, and I felt they focused a little much on her 'bitchiness' without mentioning but once in a blue moon what the woman actually accomplished. But we see nothing but all the good Catherine did. Who thinks there was a Catholi in the writers?
@lukeallcock2 So it is true she is English. But Catherine of Aragon was a great woman, and Mary... well she was wonderful until her reign . everyone has emotion its ok if she shows them more often. It's just that Anne could control them.
i thought Elizabeth walked away like that because she took her duty seriously and was going to go to Edward as she knew that is what her father wanted her to do.
God...Natalie Dormer's voice at 3:38...'Poor child.' Jesus, that woman is the best actress I have ever seen.
I don't know if Henry was going to call her back or if he was going to say something like, 'Anne, please don't hate me.' Hahaha. And when Lizzie walks away...GODS, this show is amazing. <3
I love Catherine Parr, too. <3 Second favorite queen.
For you who wonder why Elizabeth walked away... I suppose she was hurt by her father, who only asked her to look after her brother and didn't seem to give much credit to her as an individual, only as one of her brother's guardians.
There's something really heartbreaking about Henry and Anne's interaction here, perhaps not in real life, but definitely on the show she was the love of his life and the only one he honestly missed, the only one who he tries to call back - and with a 'please don't' at that. Anne was truly his soulmate. Easily the most emotional of all the ghost scenes, I actually think it would have been fitting if it had been the last. The look he gives Elizabeth at the end is awesome.
Elizabeth was the best parts of both Henry and Anne. The ironic part is whose picture was found hidden in her ring , her mothers Anne Boelyn not Henry's ! She might never have spoken of her mother but she loved her . I love both Anne and Elizabeth they are my favorite female monarchs along with Eleanor of Aquitaine ! All powerful strong woman !
@chocomonstertje They did do a few things concerning Queen Mary, and when it comes to the son.....he was very young when he ruled, and even then he did not rule at all. Young and sickly was definitely not a good combination, past nor present. Greedy men acted on his behalf and pretended to hold his best interests. How would he even back himself up when he was mostly at bedrest? Not much to say to his story, now is there?
I love this film, it truly shows Henry regrets in a way what he did to Anne and is asking for her forgiveness. But I still think Catherine of Aragon was is true wife, even though Anne was his favourite!
I really think Anne was the <3 of his life. He married Catherine because she was the wife/fiancee of his older brother Edward. She was older than him, but he really did love her. Anne was young, spunky, intelligent, passionate..and he picked her. She was the pawn in her family's greed. But, I don't think Henry deserved any of his wives. They were all to good for him.
@Sarcastic07 i totally agree with you, i watched the episode before anne's execution and he was truly devasted when he thought she betrayed her. Henry did love anne after all he did sacrifice alot for her and i think he was fond of jane but he would have tired with her after she gave him a son.
I didn't think he loved Jane Seymour. It was just a show of gratitude for giving him a son. I think if passion has a name if would really be what Henry and Anne have.
I think Henry VIII was not a saint, did lots of bad things & became a abusive man by the years, but I don't see how he paid all his life...he died...Elizabeth completed his job on the best way possible that reflects till nowdays. He broke with Roma YES...but you have to agree the Reform...started around the world not because of Boleyn's pants...but for serious reasons...that ended making the Catholic church lose power...
My favorite was anne and henry jane was kinda boring i thought henry just liked her cuz she had the son, but anne and henry relationship felt more alive
@leadingladybug but the actress playing Elizabeth looks much more as the real Elizabeth did. E.g, the red hair (which Elizabeth inherited from her father).
i love how each of henrys first three wives, the women he abused most, each are now haunting him in his dying days. i think now he finally, in a way, regrets what he did to them and his children
I can't over state that Henry killed Anne for the good of his kingdom. In Henry's life time he saw numerous revolts against the Tudor claim to the throne. The Wars of the Roses were still fresh in everyone's memory and no one wanted to face another bloody civil war over the throne. England needed a male heir to keep the peace.
He was so stubborn to get a son that he crushed such a beautiful thing like his love for Anne and he let speculations get in the middle of their marriage. He was such a fool, the man killed the ONLY woman who he has ever truly loved and she loved him back
Maybe the last two seasons weren't up to par with the first two (it's hard to top Anne Boleyn/Thomas More/the Reformation), but I think the last episode is the best of the series. It basically sums up Henry's entire reign, how his descent into tyranny has left him a haunted man, weighed down by his demons, and facing his end, unable to escape the fate that has laid low even the greatest of kings.
The actual KH8 was not just smart he was brilliant. He had a mind that could see beyond what was there and envision the far reaches of possible. Elizabeth inherited his gift of intellect and also his love of sciences. She stands as one of the greatest female leaders of all time. H8 suffered a traumatic brain injury the year before he flipped out and ordered AB beheaded. She miscarried their son over the shock/stress. No doubt the people trapped at court would say ANYTHING to make him happy.
This show let the young people know once again what a bad person was Henry VIII, (even JNM said it so) he changed history, he changed religion for a miserable reason: Anne Boleyn panties!! he Catherine of Aragon and therefore broke with the power of the moment: Spain! he buried himself & paid it all his life.
@connahharvey21 I don't think Elizabeth's behaviour here had anything to do with Henry. The scene demonstrated Elizabeth's superior strength of character compared to Mary and Katherine. Henry clearly recognises with that last look he gives her. It is also interesting that Anne was the only wife who didn't scold Henry for treating her child poorly but instead praised Elizabeth for her individual qualities and called on Henry to admit his own pride in her achievements.
@cardwitch91 I don't think Elizabeth had a strong relationship with Henry. As much as Henry and Mary butted heads, it was clear he loved her and they had an actual relationship when he was married to Katherine.
@mrsmaul2010 According to Dr. David Starkey, they had a close relationship once he restored her at the age of 9. He says it's false to believe that they were estranged for the whole of her life, as there is no evidence to back up that assertion. Read "Elizabeth: Struggle for the Throne" where he lays out this argument.
I have to say, I never found the actress who played Anne beautiful, her eyes and nose looked kind of weird, but damn it! she had an irrestible sex appeal!!!
@89edipus89: I'm actually going to have to hesitantly agree with you. The first few episodes of Seasons 1 & 2 I was a bit disappointed in the physical appearance of Anne because I thought she wasn't "sexy" enough to play Anne Boleyn but then I realized that AB's appeal WAS NOT the physical... it was as you said, her irresistible sex appeal and her bold intelligence. It all came from within. But then over the course of Season 1, I grew to love Anne and find her beautiful. :)
@89edipus89 (continued) But yeah, I never was on board with the people who say she's "breathtakingly beautiful". Cause when you're just looking at her she isn't really all that stunning, at least not imho. However, those quirky little things like how she raises her eyebrow or when she does that smirk.... those bits and pieces of her character I find to be very attractive. On a side note ; she looks MUCH prettier with dark hair. She normally sports a blonde shade and it does her no justice.
he's no longer the same spontaneous king after anne died. i think he close a part of his heart. his love for jane is more of like a gratitude and the only death he regretted was anne's. she's the only one he called back.
"regretted"...? he was full of "regrets" about people he send to the scaffold. Although,in some ways one could feel sorry for the man, he was more or less a victim of circumstances too.
He was born among hypocritical backstabbers. Although...there were also righteous kings in those days.
@Mikibihon2394 Which is ironic considering she's the only woman out of the group who deserved her death. Katherine was his true wife, and despite his constant betrayals was true to him. Jane also loved him and was true to him, and so was Kate. Anne was a whore and a plotter whose ambition exceeded her grasp.
@lawrence5584 Totaly disagree with you. Anne Boleyn was no whore, but a great, intelligent, beautiful woman who did not do half of the things she was accused of. She did not sleep with any other men but her husband the King, and yes she did have childhood sweetharts such as Thomas Wyatt and Henry Percy. But how was she to know she would become Queen. It was all the fault of George Boleyns stupid and jelous wife Jane Rochford who simply despised Anne and seeked revenge. Anne was the best Queen.
@mrsplum100 Oh I'm fully aware that the charges of incest, adultery, and witchcraft were false. I'm also well aware of her intelligence; after all for a woman to keep her legs crossed for as long as she did, and to convince a monarch to divorce a true Queen and break with Rome, she had to be intelligent. But she intentionally sought out the king's attention, and prodded him into arranging his divorce, and marriage to her. She chose to play with fire, and she got burned for it. Good riddence.
@lawrence5584 Henry 8th doubted the validity of his marriage to Catherine 1-2 years before he became infatuated with, & asked Anne to become his mistress in 1526. He also stopped having sex with Catherine of Aragon at this point (1524) In other words; had it not been Anne, it would have been someone else. Later on, "innocent" Jane made the very same demand; no marriage, no sex. Knowing full well this would mean Anne's execution. Marriage was family strategy, likely, neither woman had much choice
@mrsplum100 i completely agree with you. she was the best queen and character on the show. it is why out of all his wives and even henry, anne boleyn is the most remembered. i truly think she loved him more than any of the other wives. i wish he had felt the same way instead of calling jane seymour his most beloved. still i think anne and jane held equal portions in his heart even though he didn't want to admit it.
@lawrence5584 I don't think Anne was a "whore" nor a plotter. If anybody her father was the ambitious one. I do believe though, when Anne insisted that she be Henry's wife, she bit off more than she could chew. Katherine was a true Queen and earned the love and respect of her people. Henry and Anne's marriage was doomed from jump.
even though I hate Anne B and what she and Henry did to Queen Kathrine, I still love the little smirk that she did at the end, it was kind of like she knew that in the end she finally got her wish.
@oStitch91o I know. I've tried to create an mp3 of it without the dialogue. I haven't been able to play around with it much because of school, but if I'm ever successful I'll let you know
anne was my fav queen too and i believe that she was innocent but ppl r sayin that cuz she was so desprete to give henry a son she slept wiv other men to get pregnent with a son but its just a rumour
i extremely agree that henry passion and love only for anne.. do u guys know 'greensleeves' the lyric was written by henry viii. and he alsohates to write love letter. but for anne, he wrote 17love letters.. this i read from the article of the history of anne boleyn..
anne is the best wife. i love natalie . based on the history tat i know, anne is innocent n she didn't get any affairs wif others.. but, in this movie, seems tat anne did it, would somebody give me the answer? henry loved anne so much, but because of she can't give him a boy, so he married wif jane, didn't it?
I really liked Anne and Catherine they was the only ones out of all six wives I liked from Henry VIII. Anne for her spirit and caring ways for Henry. Catherine for her stubbornness and her love for her daughter even if her husband wanted to put her aside she loved him the same. But I believe Catherine loved Arther the one she married before Henry and I believe she was never touch by Arther because he was sick and weak. But Anne Boleyn is my favorite by far and Elizabeth. Them two Wives are best
Anne Boleyn was my favorite wife. She was strong willed. But I think Katherine Howard was really too young to be queen, and more of a lady in waiting.
Katherine Howard was a feeble little girl, I dont know what Henry thought when he welcomed her to court. Henry always wanted to use his wives to create sons, healthy sons who would become king, yet he ruined Edwards lightness and strength as a king when his time came to die. When Katherine realised she was not to be withchild for a long time Henry tired of her immediately, and whenever he recieved the taunting letter with the news of her past, he had no hesitation when executing her.
@xHanna7colax I think at that point, Henry was beginning to feel his age. He wanted something/someone to make him feel young again. I saw it as a mid life crisis that had disastrous endings for the girl and her lover.
@kasumi421 I suppose, yes that is true. But I dont see how he could forget about jane so quickly and move onto someone young in age. Is it true that Henry kept Edward inside a lot and kept him from the true world? Im learning it in school but somehow we dont really get all the details...
@xHanna7colax I'm not sure if Henry did that or not to Edward. Lets consider this: Henry was married to Katherine for 24 years, she was unable to give him son. Then he fell "passionately" in love with Anne Boleyn, who failed to give him a son, so he had her beheaded. Then he married Jane...right after Anne's death...I don't think Henry was capable of true, true love. I suggest you do a bit more research bc I am not entirely sure; that says I have more research to do myself. :)
@kasumi421 He had Anne beheaded because of the accusations against her, claiming that she was unfaithful to Henry. He was capable of loving, for he loved Anne Boleyn, but I think after her supposed betrayal, he never allowed himself to love as he did her.
@xHanna7colax Yes, Henry kept Edward fairly sequestered to prevent him from falling ill and possibly dying. He [Edward] was Henry's only male heir, and as such very very important to his father.
I believe that Jane Seymour was a very fair and beautiful woman, she did nothing wrong to Henry yet he tired of all his wives eventually. The only women he loved truly with all his heart were Jane and Anne. Anne was badmouthed and horribly spoken of by everyone, yet she did also do no wrong to Henry. Henry tired of Anne eventually as well, yet he still loved her emmensely. People made Anne out as a feeble young lady, but she wasnt, she was the best queen and she ruled as a queen truly should.
well...Anne was rly the love and passion of Henry's life...many pplz disagree 'cause he had her executed, but we all know there was a plot against her, and they make it so Henry would believe...i personally think Anne shouldnt have made an enemy out of Cromwell...if she had kept him on her side, i believe he could have helped her and maybe avoid the execution, then, she'd be exiled like Katherine was...Jane Seymour, if she hadnt gave him a son, she'd meet the same fate too: death or divorce!
I like to think that the FACT that the fathers choose the gender of the child is how Henry is spending his time in hell for his crimes against all of his.
WOW. I think he loved her the best too, which made her imagined "betrayal" all the worse. His Anne please don't ... only to find she's gone was so sad!
@nicksfuturebabe Henry just allowed his wife to remarry after he was gone. I'm guessing that Elizabeth felt a little insulted because of the wives he killed and divorced (and probably also because of her mother, who was killed for supposedly 'cheating' on him).

You can also see how much Elizabeth was actually Anne's daughter, including how she was not crying or showing any true sadness at the fact that her father was going to die. There is a possibility that she knew what he did to Anne, and feels that there is the possibility of that being some form of justice.
ThanatosPhoenix 3 months ago 2
I might be in the minority on this opinion but I honestly thought Anne's sister Mary was hotter and should have been the one that Henry married.

and I think that the reason Elizabeth walked away is because even at 14 she knew a woman's place....she knew what happened to her mother and she knew women were a commodity to men. She admired her father and wanted to be like him. I think she was showing she was.
chookfeather 3 months ago 4
Elizabeth and Edward were very close - much closer than Mary was, probably because of the age differenes (Mary was 17 when Elizabeth was born and 21 when Edward was born)....Elizabeth,and Edward were at times, when it suited the King, educated together and they had the same religious beliefs which Mary didn't share. I don't think the depiction of the dreams or his death are a true indication of how he died or how his children felt about it.
chookfeather 3 months ago

That or he was lied 2 about Anne.

@PhillAlexandros i totally agree. I was mad when they didn't show her on the last episode with his other 3 wives. Instead of having her child next to her [like all the other wives] she could of had Culpeper and told Henry she was happier with Thomas than him, or something

@Chloe2396 Katherine died of cancer.
peacedesertrose 4 months ago
@Chloe2396 Anne could've paraded through the palace naked! All was done by the King's will. It was Henry that broke Catherine's heart. Even before Anne went after her position, he asked Anne to be his offical mistress ("maîtresse en titre") because she wouldn't sleep with him. Remember that Anne didn't want Henry at first; she had a "love match" w/Henry Percy. Henry pursued HER. Anne didn't want to be the King's "whore" like her sister Mary had been--Mary was even called "the great prostitute."
Kherudjhuti 4 months ago 4
@Kherudjhuti Alison Weir has just released a book on Mary Boleyn and discusses that unfair nomenclature.
kendahke 4 months ago
It wasn't Anne that banished her from her home and sent her daughter to her own residence. Henry did that.
And Please don't believe everything you see on TV. Catherine of Aragon died in a Castle, not a cottage--specifically, she died on January 7, 1536 in Kimbolton Castle, Cambridgeshire. This stuff is just too easy to google.
Kherudjhuti 4 months ago
@Kherudjhuti Yeah, you wanna put up the cast to build a stage set for that? Or give HBO the money to rent out a castle for that scene? It's TV. They have limited resources and sometimes tailor the truth to fit the story. If you want facts, watch the history channel.
PhantoMPhreeK92 2 months ago
@Kherudjhuti Although, I agree. I loved Anne's Character, and I felt they focused a little much on her 'bitchiness' without mentioning but once in a blue moon what the woman actually accomplished. But we see nothing but all the good Catherine did. Who thinks there was a Catholi in the writers?
PhantoMPhreeK92 2 months ago
@Chloe2396 yes but henry wouldnt have done that (at least not so soon) if it werent for anne. she was his motivation.

But I still think Catherine of Aragon was is true wife, even though Anne was his favourite!
mrsplum100 7 months ago
I really think Anne was the <3 of his life. He married Catherine because she was the wife/fiancee of his older brother Edward. She was older than him, but he really did love her. Anne was young, spunky, intelligent, passionate..and he picked her. She was the pawn in her family's greed. But, I don't think Henry deserved any of his wives. They were all to good for him.

Maybe the last two seasons weren't up to par with the first two (it's hard to top Anne Boleyn/Thomas More/the Reformation), but I think the last episode is the best of the series. It basically sums up Henry's entire reign, how his descent into tyranny has left him a haunted man, weighed down by his demons, and facing his end, unable to escape the fate that has laid low even the greatest of kings.
squamish4244 8 months ago 5
The actual KH8 was not just smart he was brilliant. He had a mind that could see beyond what was there and envision the far reaches of possible. Elizabeth inherited his gift of intellect and also his love of sciences. She stands as one of the greatest female leaders of all time. H8 suffered a traumatic brain injury the year before he flipped out and ordered AB beheaded. She miscarried their son over the shock/stress. No doubt the people trapped at court would say ANYTHING to make him happy.

This show let the young people know once again what a bad person was Henry VIII, (even JNM said it so) he changed history, he changed religion for a miserable reason: Anne Boleyn panties!! he Catherine of Aragon and therefore broke with the power of the moment: Spain! he buried himself & paid it all his life.

connahharvey21 9 months ago 3
@connahharvey21 I don't think Elizabeth's behaviour here had anything to do with Henry. The scene demonstrated Elizabeth's superior strength of character compared to Mary and Katherine. Henry clearly recognises with that last look he gives her. It is also interesting that Anne was the only wife who didn't scold Henry for treating her child poorly but instead praised Elizabeth for her individual qualities and called on Henry to admit his own pride in her achievements.
cardwitch91 9 months ago 60
@cardwitch91 I don't think Elizabeth had a strong relationship with Henry. As much as Henry and Mary butted heads, it was clear he loved her and they had an actual relationship when he was married to Katherine.
mrsmaul2010 4 months ago
@mrsmaul2010 It doesn't mean he can't recognise the qualities he neglected to praise her on, and that deep in himself he is proud of her for.
cardwitch91 4 months ago
@cardwitch91 I am actually referring to Elizabeth, and why she walks away without shedding one tear.
mrsmaul2010 4 months ago
@mrsmaul2010 According to Dr. David Starkey, they had a close relationship once he restored her at the age of 9. He says it's false to believe that they were estranged for the whole of her life, as there is no evidence to back up that assertion. Read "Elizabeth: Struggle for the Throne" where he lays out this argument.

I have to say, I never found the actress who played Anne beautiful, her eyes and nose looked kind of weird, but damn it! she had an irrestible sex appeal!!!
Very, very fuckable woman!!!
89edipus89 9 months ago
@89edipus89: I'm actually going to have to hesitantly agree with you. The first few episodes of Seasons 1 & 2 I was a bit disappointed in the physical appearance of Anne because I thought she wasn't "sexy" enough to play Anne Boleyn but then I realized that AB's appeal WAS NOT the physical... it was as you said, her irresistible sex appeal and her bold intelligence. It all came from within. But then over the course of Season 1, I grew to love Anne and find her beautiful. :)
NHisDANGEROUS93 6 months ago 7
@89edipus89 (continued) But yeah, I never was on board with the people who say she's "breathtakingly beautiful". Cause when you're just looking at her she isn't really all that stunning, at least not imho. However, those quirky little things like how she raises her eyebrow or when she does that smirk.... those bits and pieces of her character I find to be very attractive. On a side note ; she looks MUCH prettier with dark hair. She normally sports a blonde shade and it does her no justice.

"regretted"...? he was full of "regrets" about people he send to the scaffold. Although,in some ways one could feel sorry for the man, he was more or less a victim of circumstances too.
He was born among hypocritical backstabbers. Although...there were also righteous kings in those days.
PAULLONDEN 7 months ago
@Mikibihon2394 Which is ironic considering she's the only woman out of the group who deserved her death. Katherine was his true wife, and despite his constant betrayals was true to him. Jane also loved him and was true to him, and so was Kate. Anne was a whore and a plotter whose ambition exceeded her grasp.
lawrence5584 6 months ago
@lawrence5584 Totaly disagree with you. Anne Boleyn was no whore, but a great, intelligent, beautiful woman who did not do half of the things she was accused of. She did not sleep with any other men but her husband the King, and yes she did have childhood sweetharts such as Thomas Wyatt and Henry Percy. But how was she to know she would become Queen. It was all the fault of George Boleyns stupid and jelous wife Jane Rochford who simply despised Anne and seeked revenge. Anne was the best Queen.
mrsplum100 6 months ago 65
@mrsplum100 Oh I'm fully aware that the charges of incest, adultery, and witchcraft were false. I'm also well aware of her intelligence; after all for a woman to keep her legs crossed for as long as she did, and to convince a monarch to divorce a true Queen and break with Rome, she had to be intelligent. But she intentionally sought out the king's attention, and prodded him into arranging his divorce, and marriage to her. She chose to play with fire, and she got burned for it. Good riddence.
lawrence5584 6 months ago
@lawrence5584 Henry 8th doubted the validity of his marriage to Catherine 1-2 years before he became infatuated with, & asked Anne to become his mistress in 1526. He also stopped having sex with Catherine of Aragon at this point (1524) In other words; had it not been Anne, it would have been someone else. Later on, "innocent" Jane made the very same demand; no marriage, no sex. Knowing full well this would mean Anne's execution. Marriage was family strategy, likely, neither woman had much choice
ladythalia 6 months ago 8
@mrsplum100 i completely agree with you. she was the best queen and character on the show. it is why out of all his wives and even henry, anne boleyn is the most remembered. i truly think she loved him more than any of the other wives. i wish he had felt the same way instead of calling jane seymour his most beloved. still i think anne and jane held equal portions in his heart even though he didn't want to admit it.

Katherine Howard was a feeble little girl, I dont know what Henry thought when he welcomed her to court. Henry always wanted to use his wives to create sons, healthy sons who would become king, yet he ruined Edwards lightness and strength as a king when his time came to die. When Katherine realised she was not to be withchild for a long time Henry tired of her immediately, and whenever he recieved the taunting letter with the news of her past, he had no hesitation when executing her.
xHanna7colax 1 year ago
@xHanna7colax I think at that point, Henry was beginning to feel his age. He wanted something/someone to make him feel young again. I saw it as a mid life crisis that had disastrous endings for the girl and her lover.
kasumi421 1 year ago
@kasumi421 I suppose, yes that is true. But I dont see how he could forget about jane so quickly and move onto someone young in age. Is it true that Henry kept Edward inside a lot and kept him from the true world? Im learning it in school but somehow we dont really get all the details...
xHanna7colax 1 year ago
@xHanna7colax I'm not sure if Henry did that or not to Edward. Lets consider this: Henry was married to Katherine for 24 years, she was unable to give him son. Then he fell "passionately" in love with Anne Boleyn, who failed to give him a son, so he had her beheaded. Then he married Jane...right after Anne's death...I don't think Henry was capable of true, true love. I suggest you do a bit more research bc I am not entirely sure; that says I have more research to do myself. :)
kasumi421 1 year ago
@kasumi421 He had Anne beheaded because of the accusations against her, claiming that she was unfaithful to Henry. He was capable of loving, for he loved Anne Boleyn, but I think after her supposed betrayal, he never allowed himself to love as he did her.
darkangel15000 1 year ago
@xHanna7colax Yes, Henry kept Edward fairly sequestered to prevent him from falling ill and possibly dying. He [Edward] was Henry's only male heir, and as such very very important to his father.
Jvillenerdfighter 11 months ago
I believe that Jane Seymour was a very fair and beautiful woman, she did nothing wrong to Henry yet he tired of all his wives eventually. The only women he loved truly with all his heart were Jane and Anne. Anne was badmouthed and horribly spoken of by everyone, yet she did also do no wrong to Henry. Henry tired of Anne eventually as well, yet he still loved her emmensely. People made Anne out as a feeble young lady, but she wasnt, she was the best queen and she ruled as a queen truly should.
