Vitalfett is correct, training and practice are very important procedures to insure safe handling of a firearm. In today's America, gun ownership has increased significantly. Most of the new gun owners won't take the time to practice and train as suggested. Smoking Gun Holsters adds another layer of protection that is needed by the new gun owners.
Almost all CCW license require very minimal training to pass the qualification courses. Mainly shooting and scoring at paper targets. Anymore in-depth training focusing on muscle-memory, safe handling and combat style drills are strictly up to you in the end. And how many times at the range do you see people actually practicing such drills? I am not advocating replacing training with gear. But for real world applications and to help circumvent Murphy's law, anyone shuold see the need for this.
To everyone that posted comments about purchasing good, high quality holsters that prevent you from accessing the trigger when the handgun is holstered as well as keeping you finger off the trigger until you intend to dischage the firearm, you are all correct. Everyone that purchases a handgun should follow these rules and procedures, however, a new gun owner or someone in a high stress situation can never have enough layers of protection. Thanks for the comments.
Ok first things first, pretty good idea and engineering know how in reference to these holsters. Second thing.... Proper training and a well designed holster negate AD's. Finger OFF the trigger until you are ready to fire, and a holster that can in no way actuate the trigger, firing the weapon..... Would I buy one? No, will others? Yes....
People that are new to handguns, especially women, have a real concern about their handgun discharging at the wrong time. I have tried to address this concern with two purse holsters, see the web site. Keep the comments coming, I appreciate all of your thoughts and ideas.
NeverAReflection, thank you for your comments. I developed this holster technology for a number of reasons, but primarily to add another level of safety to all of the standard safety techniques that exist today, such as built in safeties on handguns, proper handling procedures and holsters that cover the trigger of the handgun. That said, I have lots of stories from police officers and our military of unwanted handgun discharges during, or immediately after high stress situations.
As an LEO, one thing I would like to see is taking some of your research and resources and invest in improving bullet resistant vests. You clearly have the knowledge to grow from, I think it would be a pretty smooth transition.
If the trigger can be pulled while holstered it is poorly made, and if you pull the trigger while holstering or drawing then you have neglected a safety measure. I understand that there are mechanical failures that can happen that can cause a gun to go off without the trigger being pulled, but the chances of that are slim to none when compared with how many negligent discharges there are. This is still a cool product, I just don't really see the need
Yes, any of the holsters can be manufactured in pink or almost any other color. If you are interested in purchasing a holster, please call me so that we can define the exact holster you need. We are doing another production run next week.

You could just not squeeze the trigger when you don't want to fire..

@NeverAReflection: 100% agree, couldn't have said it better myself.

Good luck, be safe.
