  • Diddy can not relate to Walter Lee. He did not get into Walter Lee's skin. I think if he had did more research into working folks. He would have been able to relate. To this world that he has never known.

    thank you

    please excuse me.

  • If they were gonna make remake, u would think they'd at least cast a good actor. Why not Denzel OR somebody who can act?

  • oh boy Sean Combs means well, but no. I keep waiting for him to break out into the diddy dance. I love this play though but he was clearly cast because of his star power not his skill.

  • This mama is better. Ruth in '61 is better. I think this Walter and '61 Walter are both good. The only reason you people hate on him is because Diddy is from our era, so you know all the stupid stuff and what other things he runs in the entertainment world. Disregard all of that and look at him as an ACTOR. You will see he fulfilled the role to his best capacity.

  • I LOVE THIS MOVIE !!!!!!!!! love you p.diddy

  • Everybody knows why Diddy was given this role--to bring folks to the theater. Denzel couldn't have done it--he was too old, Sam Jackson too (and he YELLS too much, lol) Danny Glover in his heyday would have been perfect in this role!

Do yourselves a favor go and seek Ossie Davis performance (the play from 1959 is on audio books) he is FABULOUS!

  • 1961 is muchh better

  • I.watched both and p.diddy was betta he showed the anger Walter felt and burden of not being a provider like he wanted

  • i aint no fan of p diddy but i thought he did pretty well in this role.

  • p diddy is not worthy of kissing sidney poitier's ass

  • @truediva18 I actually think P Diddy did a good job, not as good as Sidney and probably no one can do it better than Sidney because he made the character but this is not bad as an updated version.

  • i only got 1 minute into the clip and I want to shame the NAACP for giving Diddy the award for Outstanding Actor for this movie! What is wrong with them? That man can't act. The only he was ever okay in was Get Him to the Greek, that's only b/c he was basically playing himself.

  • ALL THESE POWERFUL ACTORS..AND THEY PUT DIDDY WACK ASS IN THIS??????? WHAT A WASTE!

  • I saw this play in the 70s in LA and could not understand why people think this is good. I am baffled, it is nothing more then a soap opera

  • ::jaw drops:: Omg this is terrible

  • The 1961 version is so much better than this p. Diddy can not fulfill the roll properly.

  • @timah96 i agree

  • All I want is to have children one day,but this movie always reminds me,just getting pregnant and giving birth is only half the battle. At any age,no matter how old you are,or your kids are,a mother's work is never done.

  • @TheLovelylove well a terrible mother can finish her "work" in only a few years. i wish my mom stopped her crimes agianst family, and goodness a long time ago.

  • Terrible actor.....no version is as good as the 1961 version. It follows the original play very closely....not like this one.

  • @stasi200 What do you think of the 1989 version with Danny Glover and Esther Rolle?

  • Throughout this whole film P Diddy only has two facial expressions. Stone faced and happy.

  • Ummm
