  • him dying sucks almost as much as ur vid

  • fuck of alote better then a nursing home

  • Great this video is honoring a fellow pilot. Someone's dad, husband, grandad and a human being. I know death, I have looked it in the eye, spit on it, cursed it, dared it and most of all made my peace if it won. As I have gotten older, I have understood the demons that have possessed me in the past due to experiences of war and conflict but it has helped me embrace goodness. It is difficult to restrain my demons not to lash out on such disrespectful and hurtful comments about the dead.

  • @cpthardrock THANK YOU .

  • sorry to hear about the loss but the video wasnt great.

  • How many are there? less than 20? That's one in 20. Pretty dangerous these uncertified death machines or "ultralights" the poor either die fighting for the rich or building toys that the rich can afford: Robinson, Bell helicopters why are these used to take people on Hawaii tours? You guessed it no sane person would go. Get lessons and FAA Private Pilot licenses, and fly FAA certified machines

  • @skipsassy1 there are hundreds of theses mosquitos built and in service... and they have air worthiness certs, at least on the xel and the xet, the heavier two, which do require a pilots license.

  • @skipsassy1

They're all rotorcraft, homebuilt or not there will be accidents.

  • A real waste of time

  • Waoh...!

  • I loved his coffee.

  • I'm sorry for your loss AND his but, that video could've been a WHOLE LOT shorter and saved us some bandwidth time on our computers.

  • The problem is that helicopters can't truly fly. They're just so ugly that the Earth repels them. Helicopters, particularly light, piston engined machines, are intrinsically dangerous. look on the bright side though, at least he died doing something he wanted to be doing and it was most likely quick. We'll all die too, you, me, your brothers, sisters, kids - Might as well be a cool way like a helicopter crash. Better that than bowel cancer....

  • these mosquito choppers look about as safe as a Thai brothel.

if you want a whirley bird, buy an autogyro.

believe me, if the engine cuts out, you just hover and descend like a parachute.

  • Flash! To mr and mrs and all the ships at sea....... WE all DIE in the end.

  • you tube is a place people can express themselfs, don't like something don't watch it.but to watch something and then tell people, you can't post that, its not right, for me.

  • First of all:

Some of your comment might be true but if it helps for this person to tribute on youtube, then it doens't mean you all have be a cold stone. It shows that we are not the love generation, but the internet generation, ...

    Second:

    beïng a helicopterpilot myself ,

Achmedthemuzzie is right, flairing over water is not a good idea. You lose a lot of lift = equals out of ground hover.

    Third:

    R.I.P pilot

    Last:

To bad about that helicopter,.. maybe they should do more design tests?

  • I dont think that was the very first crash, I saw a guy smash right into the ground face first when he tried to do an autorotation.

  • what exactly is the problem here?

  • NEW IPSWICH (AP) ...critical condition... Massachusetts hospital...

James Starbuck, 60, ... underwater ... five minutes. ... pulled from Souhegan River by girlfriend, Barbara Graham, and a passerby ...

Federal investigators ... helicopter = ultralight = no investigation. ..6 feet of water...practicing takeoffs & landings ... flipped over... friend, Roland Coats:

Hes been just hovering ... it .. But it looks like he tried to take it out a little bit further than he has in the past.

  • Does the FAA investigate these types of crashes?

  • you guys are a bunch of ass holes flaming a video posted by a 15 year old (13 at the time)

  • @ibusturballs So what? Are 13 year olds exempt from getting flamed? This is the internet pal....go hard or go home!

  • @fhp2b Bet you wouldnt talk that shite to my face......Just because we are on the net you feel brave.....

  • @parkert51 Who the f#ck are you? Do you know me? You think since you're an atheist that you have nothing to fear? You pop off your mouth like that to me in person you'd believe in God, cause you would be going to see him son.

  • @fhp2b Talk that shit chump, in the real world you'd be my bitch. But here you be a bad ass. I hope itt makes you feel better about your miserable little life. You got to be a bully somewhere and being one on the net keeps you from taking daily ass whoppings!

  • Very sad to see someone perish due to the love of a hobby. I'm the same way and I hope this does not happen to me.

I saw the motors they are using and NO freakin way would I trust it over water. Autorotate is OK in a heli but over water?...NOT!

  • I think the second star was a sympathy star because this is a one in my book- honor your dead somewhere else- we want to see the results not go to a wake..no disrespect but you have to understand the demographics here- youtube does not equal funeral home, youtube = frathouse. You can't expect anything more from the likes of us...in fact, you set the bar too high thinking we would care enough not to be insensitive..apologies for the rude comments about your loved one but you asked for it...

  • it's true. people that think youtube is the place for some somber tribute and expect not to be flamed in any way really perplex me.

  • @lunac666 excellent thesis

  • u fools should try a simple search on google with the key words - "jim starbucks mosquito crash 19th july" ......

  • I agree with you on that. The full story is on Google and along with the photo of the crashed helicopter.

  • never buy on ebay...

  • lol i think its fake i couldnt find anything on it

  • Another sad thing happened today, I went to sleep waiting for something to happen on this video. I should a watched something else.

  • haha this is a kinda joke... no info nor images

  • Um, ok then. I wanna see the crash now. Lets see this sucka hit the ground...

  • ok so .......... can we see what happened now ?

  • Another sad event happened on September 14, 2008. I watched this stupid video for one minute and forty seconds waiting to see a helicopter crash, and nothing happened.

  • umm not to be an asshole or nething but i dont have any proof that this guy died or is even real. Anyone could have put sumthin like this up...

  • very sorry to hear a lost of life doing some thing that he loves ,he was flying to low that could not autorotate? this Mosquitos are very safe would be good to know why and how , so other do not make same mistake. sorry and my respect to he's family. Rest in Peace

  • Rest In Peace.

  • Montseny 1970

    Havilland comet crash

  • hahah this is all lame

  • Mosquito crash, its a con, there's no crash or video, just an ego trip, bigging up some bloke who died making his first solo cup of coffee.

  • Terrible shame and I can't believe some of the inane comments to this well-intended commemoration.

  • well, some asshole has to be first at everything, and it usually is an asshole too.

  • like your mother dude!!

  • R.I.P. pilot. Sad things..

  • As a helicopter Pilot myself it is always truly sad to see another aviator lose his life doing what he loves. But remember these mortal words, by John Gillespie Magee, Jr., who jotted down these famous lines three months before he went into combat that was to cost him his life.

  • High Flight

Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of Earth

    And danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings;

Sunward I've climbed, and joined the tumbling mirth

Of sun-split clouds, — and done a hundred things

You have not dreamed of — wheeled and soared and swung

High in the sunlit silence. Hov'ring there,

I've chased the shouting wind along, and flung

My eager craft through footless halls of air. . . .

  • Up, up the long, delirious burning blue

I've topped the wind-swept heights with easy grace

Where never lark, or ever eagle flew —

And, while with silent, lifting mind I've trod

The high untrespassed sanctity of space,

Put out my hand, and touched the face of God.

    — John Gillespie Magee, Jr., 1941

  • R.I.P.
