  • Cards are every where but i will NOT give up!

  • if you put ur thumb at the left corner and index at the top middle followed by ur other fingers, you can spring more easily because of the elastic energy conversion.

  • CardShark88, do you know who Alec Knat is?

  • Great tutorial.

  • Thanks for the tut, now I know the concept and can roughly do it. Thanks for the tip, I fucked up my cards. Unfortunately I fucked up my finger too. Great tut though.

P.S: You might want to consider changing the music, I came to learn to flourish cards, I danced instead.

  • I did fuck my cards up lol

  • I can't believe I had never noticed the pinky before. All I was missing... AMAZING =D

  • dont take this as gossple guys, do youe own thing

  • awesome video

  • lol i like the warning: " excessive springing will fuck your cards" epic!

  • You'r name is Dan ? Funny because, you look like a Dan :)

  • this kills my thumb...should it be doing that..?

  • scratch that. i just watched the central bottom thumb part

  • will excessive springing fuck up ellusionist cards with UV-500 Air Flow coating?????????

cuz i dont want to ruin these cards

  • Ellusionist tag their UV-500 Air Flow Coating Tag on all their cards and all that does is make them glow in a black light.

It does nothing for protection, therefore yes, excessive springing on even the most durable of card will eventually fuck them up.

  • 100th rate! good tutorial, I liked it...though i already knew how to spring. :)

  • hahahahaha

    the warning was so funny

  • I did everything the tutorial said, and my cards just fly forward or towards me.

  • Try to adjust youre angle of the spring, example, try to shoot the cards a little forward instead of downwards, when you shoot downwards the cards are out of control, remember this sleight is all about developing youre own and natual grips and tricks, keep that in mind!

  • This guy's tutorial's are awesomely detailed. Check out his sybil vids, too.

  • i'm not the top performer i just love saying that, cause theirs no one better than me atleast close by. but yes i have a low budget all the card pack i have where gifts from my grandfather that died i lil ago :( but was the name of the brand?

  • what's the name of the cards that have the black outlines and is black on the back like the ones on Common Toss and Flick Tutorial - Aerial 3? please i'm the top card magician in Puerto Rico but i never seen those cards. I have a really low budget and i live out of street preformances :/.i need know the name of the brand to buy them on e-bay or something.

  • If you really are the top card performer in Puerto Rico trust me., you would definitely not have a low budget.

  • eh, whenever i try this i let go of the card only from my thumb and they move back towards me.

    any ideas?

  • look at my tutorial on my profile lol. u can either use the center like he does or use a corner. if u use the corner, theres more card bending, and its not as precise of a thumb movement, so its easier. but yes the cards do come off the thumb first

  • o nvm he shows the corner too i didnt realize lol

  • hahahaha stand out, be you

  • wonderful tutorial. thanks. It has helped a lot

  • hehehh... What if when i do it the cards all go random directions? o.0

  • shit.god damn. u really know how to make a tutorial. excellent. keep it up. and thanks

  • this is really good!

    thank you

  • awesome card tutorial u mentioned every detail!!

    5 stars :D

  • Thanx for the tutorial I have seen many but never got it untill now keep em coming.=)

  • Awesome, awesome, awesome tutorial!! I could never do this...until you mentioned the importance of the pinky. Then I adjusted my hand position to allow them to catch on my pinky. Literally, midway through the vid I could suddenly do it. Great job.

  • "Excessive Springing will fuck up your cards".

If you're using the edge grip, no matter how you do it, you'll fuck up your cards after enough time.

However, I've found that the corner grip not only reduces overall damage to the cards, but allows for bend repair if you do it right.

What sort of student of Jerry Cestkowski uses the edge grip? It no go as far.

  • you really have got to get those bicycle cards... i bet they dont stick together like my woolworths ones!! an its not like i can take em bak lol! CARDSHARK88 other people idolise gordon brown.... not me.... u r a shark in every sense geeza!!!

  • hey cardshark, where have you been?

  • when i do it with my thumb the cards fall in my lap (im sitting)

  • after im done pickin up my cards form the floor then what XD

  • great tutorial

  • CardShark, you are a fucking BOSS. I spent years trying to figure out how to do this-- until I watched your video. In just 2 minutes, I can do it with my hands 2 feet apart.

Again, you are a motherfucking BOSS.

  • ROFL "excessive springing will fuck your cards up"

  • This is REALLY awesome but however, it kinda bends and ruins your deck of cards. Other than that, this is INCREDIBLE.

  • Ye it doesn bend and weaken them.

A way to get them back into better condition is put your packet inbetween some solid books and put wieght on top.

    Leave it there overnight

  • Well, what you can do is practice a spring with one side of the deck facing you and then do the next spring with the other side of the deck facing you. That way each side gets an even amount of bend and ur deck will just end up a lot more flexible

  • if your going to curse in a video cardshark then at least put a warning. you don't want angry moms bitching at you cuz they're little boy learned a new word now do you ;)

  • shush FAILuxatearna1

  • When i do this, the cards tend to fly backwards toward me =P that supposed to happen? and what can i do to keep em going towards about the same place?

  • well im using really old bicylces so there weak and easy to bend so yea.. and never heard of a side spring fan

  • is there a name for a spring that goes sideways? im bending the cards at the longer side rather then the shorter side

  • i am trying the anaconda at the moment anyway much better than a spring.

  • this isnt too bad for your cards once you mastered it you wont be bending the hell out of them if you looks at proffesionals doing them 30 times the deck is still fine.

  • Awesome!!!

  • thank you very much!

my cards wont be f*$%ed up cause i have plastic edition:)

  • Nice Tut . I just hate that music haha xD

  • Excellent tutorial man, thanks.

  • Lovin' your taste in music, mate.

    Care to share?

  • i love my thumb!! and my cards all plastic royal washable playing cards FTW!!!(for the win incase any of u nubits didnt no what FTW ment also fuck the world but in this case for the win) rofl

  • i still cant spring with the thumb, if i do the cards fly backwards (against me)

  • i didnt get it till he said its all in the thumb then i got it perfectly

  • I used the top roght and bottom left corners.

Uses less pressure and doesnt bend the cards out of shape as a result.

  • can;t doit. my thumbs double jointed...

  • i cant get the grip, my thumb hurts too much, any tips guys?

  • Dude, I've been trying unsuccessfully to spring for 1 1/2 years. As soon as I saw your 1st grip (never seen that one before) I stopped the video, picked up the cards and did it. FINALLY! Can't thank you enough. P.S. Can't stop myself, gotta make this joke regarding hockeyisawesome21's comment below--yeah, can you stop making awesome, useful, flourish videos and instead expose crappy tricks like Mercury instead, because there are only 50 or so YouTube tutorials on it. :-) Couldn't refrain.

  • nice tutorial, thanks for all, i've been learning fannin' for a few months, and i couldn't understand the springings. thanks

  • you havent post for so long almost forgotten u

  • great vid...the shots where it is first person are good i can get confused if it is looking at you

  • your finally listening to some better music these days

  • Great to see another video from you, you really are brilliant :)

Though i actually lol'd at the "excess springing will fuck your cards up" haha.

  • nice to see your back, enjoyed the vid, keep em coming :)

  • geez its been forever!! GREAT to have you back!!!!!! thanks as alwase

  • hey dude thanks, i love your tutorials, just starting up in magic, is there anyway you can make a good mercury aces one cuz that would be great

    p.s. love the song..

  • Destination Calabria... adds a nice touch

  • Glad to see you're still making tutorials, Dan. Not as detailed as some of your previous (thank God for that ;)) and there are some other grip variations you might have included, but I think pretty much anyone should be able to get the gist of springing from this video.

  • It's generally harder to make a controlled spring off the fingers with good thick cards. I can do it with plastics but otherwise, my thumb is just sturdier than the other fingers.

  • good to have you back!

  • always good vid! and good tune :) thx buddy!

  • Good Tutorial :) Thnx.

    01Elf

  • Great to see you back Dan we missed you on the 3C Forums =/ 5 Star tutorial. I'v been doing Springs for about 3 years now, and after all the things iv tought myself, this video helped me top it off. Perfection =]

  • well made tutorial dan.

  • very very good tutorial!

  • springing off the fingers looks ugly...

    thumb ftw

  • For your information, I spring off my fingers and my spring looks exactly the same as the one seen in this video and anyone elses 'thumb' spring. As long as you have the same control than it really doesn't matter. :)

With some experimenting they can both look the same.

  • The corner grip makes less of a ridiculous sound when executed, just as a heads up.

  • Another great video. Keep up the good work Dan

    -DL

  • Oh yes thank you so much, i needed this tutorial

  • woo i can spring!!! lols thanks dude you rock =]

  • Nice video. It also works the opposite way, I don't spring the cards off my thumb, I straighten my fingers that grip the other side of the deck instead and it works just as good. My thumb doesn't even move.

    :)

    Still another good tutorial though.

  • instead of my cards going in i push them out because the other makes my thum hurt it works tho.

  • lol 3:57 "excessive springing will fuck up your cards"

  • Springs can be tricky, especially when you first learn them, but they are a very important staple in card manipulation. I personally think springing from the corners is the better method instead of springing from the sides.

  • good one man

  • lol back to the Dance Music :D What a fucking great tune tho!! =D

  • Thanks you very much for this latest video, I'm thoroughly enjoying getting to grips with this flourish.

Best of luck with your assignments, no matter how boring they may (or may not) be.

  • awesome

  • NICE MAN

  • yo yo yo yo yo

  • woo!

  • NEW VIDEO DAN!!!cool

  • I Found time lol. Next one is due before Christmas, Hopefully. Depends on how bad the assignments from uni become. ;)

  • Wow thank you ;)

  • First!

    Finally, nice vid man XD
