I started listening to this stuff to appear ironic, and now I'm constantly thinking "some Michael McDonald would really set the mood in this particular
@SimonGallegosFTW In the series, Loggins was originally an idealistic songwriter of smooth music who fell into harder rock and movie soundtracks after Koko Goldstein, the smooth music guru, was killed.
I love how Don Henley and Glenn Frey are just hanging out in a crappy apartment with nothing to do. It's as good as that scene with Christopher Cross just sitting around watching tv with Michael McDonald in his den.
Someone tell me why the hell VH-1 didn't think this was good enough to pick up as a series.
The Eagles as high school bullies stealing the Dan's lunch money is friggin hysterical, especially since, in the words of the Dude, "I hate the fucking Eagles." And Loggins refusing to do movie music is downright comic brilliance! Four years on, and Yacht Rock is still the best stuff on YouTube.
anyway, can someone explain to me the whole joke about Donald Fagan's weird talking? I don't know much about him to totally understand it..but its hilarious anyhow.
It's "I Believe In Love",from Kenny Loggins' 1st solo album,"Celebrate Me Home"(1977).Barbra Streisand performed it in the movie "A Star Is Born".Also,I'm sure somebody answered your question months ago,but what the heck?
This is... I feel like I'm in an alternate universe... Internet videos are making me laugh hysterically, the people commenting on them aren't making me want to kill myself... This is magic. Thank you.
I personally like McDonald all sweaty and beaten and he pants, "When are we gonna be done?" Patent Steely Dan perfectionism is well-represented in this episode. A+
Second that notion. A high quality version of this for the public I think would sell. My question is: Could JD find the funds for all the rights to all this music? :(
Hell, I'd even watch a 2 hour theatrical release. EPIC Yacht Rock.
This may be hopeless-- but I've managed to identify just about every song in every episode of Yacht Rock (not counting Jethro Tull) and I can't figure out what the hell the song is in this episode with the pan flutes / recorder / flute solo. There's a snippet at the beginning and again at the very end, with what sounds like a Loggins vocal. Can anyone help me out? I'm not even sure if they're the same song.
Hello shit bag i dont really give a fuck about how gay you but let me put you straight thats not my other acount because first im not a girl second i dont live in canada. So basical FUCK YOU FAGETTE!!!!!!!!!!
How do we get more Yacht Rock episodes? Is there a fan club? I've loved this music for years and have been a fan of the artists as well. Now, I can get a chuckle when I hear the classic songs.
I just noticed the Winnie the Pooh/PoohCon joke...

Hey JD. I don't mean to nitpick quality or anything, but is there any chance of these videos getting re-released in HD?

eddo1983 1 year ago
As Steely Dan's music is usually only understood by those with a finely tuned ear for the smooth, so is Donald Fagen's speaking voice.
