  • I just noticed the Winnie the Pooh/PoohCon joke...

  • Hey JD. I don't mean to nitpick quality or anything, but is there any chance of these videos getting re-released in HD?

  • Shhhhh- Listen........ Is that dark sarcasm?

  • Well Don Henley, you n your homey just got some "Boys of Summer" with that baseball bat

  • Well I understood the F-bomb dropped by Mr. Fagen quite well

  • Okay, what's with Brad on the phone in that weird stilted voice going "are you there?"

  • ahem!

    EAT BAT PRICK!

    best line in this episode

  • Love the Tori Amos song playing in bkgd @ beginning!

  • Steely Dan is awesome Smooth Rockers with a taste of soul.

  • Ack ack ack ack ack ack ack! That's me laffin.

  • I love how you can hear the eagles "cawing" as they throw the brick at Michael McDonald larynx.

  • I started listening to this stuff to appear ironic, and now I'm constantly thinking "some Michael McDonald would really set the mood in this particular

    situation."

    You won this round, universe.

  • Whats the deal with the way Fagen talks? i dont get it

  • As Steely Dan's music is usually only understood by those with a finely tuned ear for the smooth, so is Donald Fagen's speaking voice.

  • @jdryznar Friggin genius I swear. Even that little explanation. Never got it till now! YOu guys are subconsciously conscious :)

  • kenny loggins does do soundtracks

  • Hence the joke...

  • @SimonGallegosFTW In the series, Loggins was originally an idealistic songwriter of smooth music who fell into harder rock and movie soundtracks after Koko Goldstein, the smooth music guru, was killed.

  • I love how Don Henley and Glenn Frey are just hanging out in a crappy apartment with nothing to do. It's as good as that scene with Christopher Cross just sitting around watching tv with Michael McDonald in his den.

Someone tell me why the hell VH-1 didn't think this was good enough to pick up as a series.

  • I would have done im a fool to do your dirty work by steely dan. though it was their first hit it would not match up with the time scenerio

  • Comment removed

  • really need new episodes of yacht rock

  • Awesome, but I thought at least the incident would result in the Eagles cutting "I Can't Tell You Why."

  • fucking hilarious.

  • this is fucking fantastic.

  • Tori Amos RULES!

  • "You boys just checked into Hotel CaliASSKickin!"

    Lol!

  • Why did the Cinespace audience ever cancel this?

  • The Eagles as high school bullies stealing the Dan's lunch money is friggin hysterical, especially since, in the words of the Dude, "I hate the fucking Eagles." And Loggins refusing to do movie music is downright comic brilliance! Four years on, and Yacht Rock is still the best stuff on YouTube.

  • "Jabbo anytiiiii, nebbo leeaaaaaa."

  • I love the Dan..

LOL @ Loggins never breaking. He did 50 movies at least..Funny shit

  • "Schh, listen! Is that dark sarcasm?"

    I love this!!

  • The best part for me is when Fagen hears "...stab it with their their steely knife..." and he goes "Nooooo!" in his weird accent

  • (In nasal voice) "Those fucking motherfuckers!"

This episode is just amazing. Also love Don and Glenn's "Awk, awk, EAGLES!!!"

  • LOVE THESE SERIES! more more more!

anyway, can someone explain to me the whole joke about Donald Fagan's weird talking? I don't know much about him to totally understand it..but its hilarious anyhow.

  • Have fun at PoohCon!

I love Donald Fagan's Scat gibberish

    Jabbawididah Nehboleeeee!

  • @fatheaddan "You can check out anytime you like, but you can never leave"

  • Oh man... I only just noticed the Loggins/Pooh Corner reference. *dies laughing*

Favorite episode (well, they're all my favorite, but this one's extra awesome because Steely Dan kicks ass. Literally.)

  • What is the opening song at .41, with the rockin flutes?

  • It's "I Believe In Love",from Kenny Loggins' 1st solo album,"Celebrate Me Home"(1977).Barbra Streisand performed it in the movie "A Star Is Born".Also,I'm sure somebody answered your question months ago,but what the heck?

  • This is so awesome. I love the part where Fagen is yelling gibberish at the backup singers.

I would also totally beat the Eagles with a bat as well. Thank you, Steely Dan.

  • cant hear you thru all that dork static

  • FM has to be one of the best episodes in Yacht Rock series. Please make another season!

    BTW, Steely Dan FTW!

  • what song is that at :40 seconds? hot beat..

  • "I Believe in Love" by Kenny Loggins. Awesome rock flute action.

  • This is... I feel like I'm in an alternate universe... Internet videos are making me laugh hysterically, the people commenting on them aren't making me want to kill myself... This is magic. Thank you.

  • I love this series, I wish there were more.

  • I personally like McDonald all sweaty and beaten and he pants, "When are we gonna be done?" Patent Steely Dan perfectionism is well-represented in this episode. A+

  • haha fagen saying fuck is the best part

  • I love them both,i like steely dan even more.

Steely Dan is far more talented than anyone

    in todays music.

  • wassup joe?!? haha. steely dan is not better than david bowie...no way. not that david bowie is really todays music.

  • HAHA... definitely the best episode, but I'm also a freak of The Dan.

I would definitely pay for this on DVD. Is there any hope for that ever happening??

  • Second that notion. A high quality version of this for the public I think would sell. My question is: Could JD find the funds for all the rights to all this music? :(

Hell, I'd even watch a 2 hour theatrical release. EPIC Yacht Rock.

  • "Fucking motherfuckers!"

"You boys just checked into Hotel Calofasskick!"

    Steely Dan rule so much.

  • Becker: "I wish we could use McDonald."

    Fagen: "Googoola ummmmm uh....Fuck!"

  • nevermind - I just figured it out: "I Believe in Love" from Loggin's 1977 album "Celebrate Me Home." Screw you, Hollywood Steve, I don't need you!

  • This may be hopeless-- but I've managed to identify just about every song in every episode of Yacht Rock (not counting Jethro Tull) and I can't figure out what the hell the song is in this episode with the pan flutes / recorder / flute solo. There's a snippet at the beginning and again at the very end, with what sounds like a Loggins vocal. Can anyone help me out? I'm not even sure if they're the same song.

  • "I guess the third take is salvageable." lmao

  • why did they ever STOP making this?! why?!

  • I'd buy this on DVD. Even if they never made any more, I'm happy with the 10 that exist.

  • this is the best yacht rock ever4!

  • I love this episode, except for the fact that Steely Dan and The Eagles were friends. Kind of like brothers-in-smooth.

  • Can someone translate Fagen's lines from Dork Static to English?

  • EAT BAT... PRICK!

  • Linda Ronstadt does some killer background vocals too

  • Sara? Are you there Sara? lol!

  • How do we get more Yacht Rock episodes? Is there a fan club? I've loved this music for years and have been a fan of the artists as well. Now, I can get a chuckle when I hear the classic songs.

    Thanks!

  • Have fun at Pooh Con. Steely Dan owes thanks to Yacht Rock for making me a huge fan. Just bought Aja.

  • And the perfect show ends with a great Steely Dan episode. Now anytime we hear a Steely Dan song I go "Shhhh, is that dark sarcasm"
