I have seen some American police use taser to enforce compliance before and thought that the use was premature and that other tools were more appropriate. In this case I believe it was well used. He tried to use normal physical methods first called for back up and when the guy went to get in the car he tasered him. I think though instead of continueing to taser he should have got on the guys back using weight and arm holds to restrain. Not a big deal though.
