I wish it were that way but I have to disagree. Look at HP, Microsoft(probably the most extreme example), Comcast, the entire nation of China, and Tigerdirect for example. They all provide products and services that are unreasonably inferior to the competition and general expectations yet they are the top tier of their respective industries. Product quality is irrelevant to success, it's all marketing and the one sale per customer/ rip off your customer business model is superior.
