This is exactly what happened to the Palestinians in 1967, they were driven away from their homes. The Israeli people now know how the Palestinians felt back then. I'm not trying to say that I'm happy about this, in fact no one should ever be driven out of their homes because if you're not safe in your home then you're safe no where.
