  • i tried this and loved it

  • cool vid

  • This recipe looks awfully sweet with the brown sugar and syrup, I am diabetic, probably will not work out for me but thanks for your sweet video.

  • Damn I don't have a microwave :(

  • umm what is the difference between packing it in the pan and not packing it in the pan ?

  • @glitteryglitz12 It will be easier to eat if it is packed, they will stay in a nice square form when cut. If it goes in loose, it may be hard to cut into squares that will stay that way when picked up.

Side note---there is no reason to put "umm" before a question. Your question was well worded and spelled correctly on it's own. :)

  • omg there so good

  • i am allergic to peanut butter too.

what would a good substitute be for this? thanks.

  • do u need the peanut butter? im allergic can i leave it out if i make this

  • Can we use instant oatmeal instead of regular oats? Is there a difference?

  • @OreoDucky There is a difference between the two, but it won't matter for this recipe, use either/or.

  • do you have to add the chocolate sauce cause i dont eat chocolate

  • @321677841 I suppose you could leave that out, but in my opinion it wouldn't be very good

  • Why cant you pack it ?

  • @KianasKitchen The base turns out to be a little too hard and chewy if you pack it a lot into the pan

  • please post a video that shows ice cream home made .. vvithout any appliances use .. :) i hope you response

  • @taylormuah13 Thanks for the suggestion!

  • nutella cupcakes or nutella cookies please?

  • @nimarocks1 Thanks for the suggestion! I love nutella.

  • definitely yummy, but rather fatty, I guess that is not really health safe.

  • @sysman76 It's a dessert, if you are looking for health food go eat a salad

  • Can I use light corn syrup instead of dark?

  • @TaomiKK yes

  • thx for that

  • @MrAndmanymore No problem

  • I really like this

  • @hwangbo101 Thanks!

  • @yoyomax12 k thnks

  • can you do this with margarine ?

if not still be really good :)

  • @Lucifersmind999 Yes you can use margarine instead of butter in any of my recipes

  • omg i want to try this now!!!!.

  • @therapeutics23 Thanks!

  • I have those same measuring cups! Ducks and the other ones! Haah(:

  • @TheTripleJLover I saw some selling them on ebay as "vintage"!

  • @TheTripleJLover I saw some selling them on ebay as "vintage"!

  • @hotdog1997 Yes, cook it on medium-low until it bubbles (comes to a boil)

  • does not brown sugar HAVE to be packed?

  • @pinkiepandaXD The brown sugar police will not come to get you if you don't! :)

For this recipe it really won't make a whole lot of difference.

  • I made it with crystal sugar, color between brown and white, with butter and honey. Looked delicious, smelled and tasted, too. :)

  • @artpeacemaster Glad it turned out for you. Thanks for letting me know that you did!

  • oh my gosh thanks you for this! I always wondered if I could make my own these came out great! I added chocolate chips to them at the end. These taste great the longer they sit. I've made them three times since seeing this :)

  • @piffyxP Chocolate chips make everything taste better! lol

thanks much for letting me know you tried these, it is great to hear. :)

  • thanks for showing this great recipe to be, but do you have to us brown sugar.

  • @artpeacemaster You could use white sugar but it probably won't taste quite the same and the colour will be different

  • OH WOW.....THE TITLE CAUGHT MY EYE! =))

  • @TeenzyV Thanks, hope you like the recipe too. :)

  • this looks delish...i'm going to try it at some point

  • @XxARTMASONxX They are tasty! thanks for stopping by. :)

  • @smartcheetah1 Glad you enjoyed them!

  • you have a freakin' theme son??!!? THAT"S AWESOME!! Great vid!

  • @romero271991

I was lucky enough to have Jason Shaw (Audionautix) make the theme song for me.

I don't use it often because I have had complaints that it is too catchy and it gets stuck in people's heads, lol.

  • THANKS FOR THE RECIPE, LOOKS DELICIOUS. TRY TO DO MY GRANOLA BARS, I HOPE ARE AS DELICIOUS AS YOURS. BY THE WAY, HAPPY THANKSGIVING FROM MCALLEN, TX.

    TODAY IS NOVEMBER 24, 2009 TIME: 03:25 p.m.

CONGRATULATIONS, GOOD LUCK AND GOD BLESS YOU. BYE, BYE.

  • Thanks!

Happy Thanksgiving to you! (ours was last month)

  • For a wonderful oatmeal bar ...try this.......add walnuts (toasted in a fry pan with a lil butter till golden...) add half a cup of raisinsand the toasted walnuts to the oatmeal mixture at the micro bubbly stage.... and make a frosting with a lil over half of a 16 oz. pkg. of cream cheesem(softened) 1/2 cup powdered sugar,1 teaspoon vanilla.....mix well till blended smooth..if too thick, add a few drops of milk.....spread on cooled oatmeal loaf....SOOOO GOOD....

  • This does sound good! Thanks

  • They look lovely, I've made these several times before, with a lot of different outcomes lol. We call these flapjacks in England, and usually use Lyle's Golden syrup instead of corn syrup or honey. My favourite is adding chopped glace cherries to the oats then using almond essence in white icing, tastes just like cherry bakewells :-)

  • I don't know what a cherry bakewell is, but the glace cherries and the almond sound like a very nice combination of flavours.

    Thanks!

  • is poradge oats da same plz reply i want to make today!!!!!X

  • The recipe I used called for "quick cooking oats" written right on the package. I'm not sure how they will turn out with "regular oats".

The regular oats are usually large flake size.

If your oats are in little pieces instead of flakes, you should be ok.

  • I made them last night - soaked the raisins in a little water with cinnamon and nutmeg, added some chopped walnuts and almonds and they were great. I did however, get lazy and not measure the peanut butter, so the frosting stayed soft. It's good, but not tidy, so the bars are in the fridge. I may even freeze them so they'll be fresh this week for camping. Thanks for the recipe - I'll keep it. Maybe with dates or craisins or dried apricots chopped into small pieces...

  • The cinnamon and nutmeg sound great! The variations on this are endless.

Mine got rock hard in the fridge (I put them there to harden the chocolate topping quickly), I had to let them sit out a bit to soften!

Did you use corn syrup or honey?

  • Oh, I took your advice and used the honey. Excellent choice. But with the extra peanut butter, the topping didn't harden so they had to go into the fridge. We split one the other night and they were fine - but I also followed your advice about not packing it down; just *gently* patted and stopped. So thanks for making the errors for me! :)

  • They look very tasty...Yum! :)

    THG

  • Thanks! They would be better with a few extra goodies thrown in.

  • The contractor is coming over to put in the wider door. I'm sending you the bill. °,-)

  • I'm going to have to post disclaimers on my videos from now on....

"yoyomax12 is not responsible for any weight gain resulting from the fabrication and consumption of this recipe" :)

  • This looks good but i would never put my food in a mirowave !!!

  • If you don't want to use a microwave you could do this on the stove. I would be careful not to set the heat too high though.

  • I love your goose cups! ^_^

  • Thanks, they are a yard sale find. :)

  • your welcome and your both super cool, but you know this

  • So were they yummy? i bet they were.

Hummm inquiring minds want to know..

Ok how come you all are not big & fat?? :O lol Nice one Max

  • They are tasty, but would be much better with some raisins and nuts. They are filling and would be good as a snack.

I give a lot of my baking away to the neighbours and co-workers. I also freeze half of the recipes for later.

  • nom nom nom nom

  • :) !!

  • Looks good!

Yeah, I agree. Adding nuts and/or raisins is a good idea.

    :0)

  • I found them a little bit plain, I think I will add the extras next time.

  • Definitely adding this to my Fav's.. I'm gonna have to try this too.. and it's SIMPLE! That's what I like! lol

  • It is simple and it won't heat up your kitchen.

  • Another nice recipe for the kids (and me too) to try! cheers, KtC

  • What's great about this one is that you could change it up to suit your kid's tastes.

  • Those look yummy, Im guessing you could add just about anything you want to this recipe.

  • You could do a lot with this recipe to jazz it up!

  • wow them bars looked so yummy i love sweets...thats my biggest down fall lol.....xoxo Misty aka Mista

  • Sweet things are my downfall too Mista, that's why I love baking so much.

  • I love granola bars. Especially if they have chocolate in them!!! You have such great recipes! :)

    Emily

  • Thanks Emily,

I am a chocolate lover too!

  • sweet <3

  • Thanks! :)

  • wow I've never seen corn syrup in motion before! Neither have I ever seen it used in cooking before, this is a first! :D

  • What do you use corn syrup for?

I use it in baking primarily and in candy making.

  • well we have a corn syrup-based maple syrup but other than that we don't have any other corn syrup in the house :(

  • Looks yummy Tammy! I may make these later today! Hope you had a wonderful weekend and a great work week!

  • Thanks! These are more like granola bars than dessert to me. They would make an excellent snack.

  • We made a big batch of granola a while back and that is what they reminded me of, sans chocolate and peanut butter + lots of other yummy stuff. My husband sprinkles the granola over his yogurt every morning. Hugs!

  • Another yummy easy one. I wanna know why you guys aren't as big as a house. It must be all the cold weather burning up the calories just to maintain body heat.

  • I give a lot of my stuff away to the neighbours (they are all big as houses)

  • That looks quick, easy and DELISH!

  • They make a good hiking/biking type snack. They are filing and aren't a light kind of dessert, more like a granola bar really. Thanks Sue

  • They look delicious...very funny joke Max

    :)PJ

  • Thanks PJ!

  • Wow, they look really yummy!!!

  • They are actually very filling because of the oatmeal. They would make a good hiking type snack.

  • i just looked and i have no hunny have to wait a day and get some but these are for sure gonna be made

this vid is in my favs now

  • The corn syrup was good, but I would most definitely try them with honey next.

  • Ty for the receipe review and suggestions!

  • You are welcome!

  • I'm sure that your dad would enjoy these! I will definitely try them!

    Love ya,

    Je t'aime plus Maxim!

  • I'm not sure if they are sweet enough for Dad.

  • this looks yummie i am gonna try it tonite..

  • Please let me know if you liked them.

They are not a "light" dessert. They are more like a granola bar, snack food .

  • im trying to figure out how to add some spinach to the reciipe

    xoexo

  • Spinach? lol! If you figure it out, let me know. :)

  • Well, that looks yummy and oh so 'healthy'.. lol

We're gonna have to give this one a try too!!

  • They are one of my "healthier" desserts, lol!
