  • Ah, just as I remember the old Magic Kingdom Mansion... minus the Japanese narration of course!

  • Love this ride so much! :D

  • is it just me, or is this ride alot longer than the one in america?

  • very similar to the french version paris, only difference is the paris one has normal photographs that changed into demonic scenes after the elevator scene. the hologram mirror the ghost appears above the carriage were you cant see - not inside so its creepy as hell! also the wild west scene is missing in the japanese version! alot scenes missing! like the bride appearing down a hallway with candles, also a scene of her crying in her room before or after the concert hall scene im not sure!

  • @patsybob yea but disneyland in CA has her in an attic with a knife

  • @rikumyloveforeva not a knife. You talk abou Hatchet Attic Bride, Constance Hatchaway... She is a little other, cause Melanie had vanished groom, and Constance did murdered her 5 husbands... With a hatchet of course...

And the Tokyo Haunted Mansion still have old, pre-constance beating heart bride in the attic, with pop-up ghosts... Only Tokyo...

  • @PavelosF Yeah, and you think about it they might always because they can't find anyone to do Constance's voice..lucky...

  • @patsybob hahaha! THE PHANTOM MANOR is the other version of mansion. And of course, all HM is similar, but PM is based on the haunted mansion's.

dont be silly. and the melanie bride from PM is based on attic bride from Disneyland Anaheim.

  • oh shoot!! did Tokyo Disneyland get wiped away with that nasty Earthquake?

  • @ENTERTAINMENT35 no even if it did it would be rebuilt

  • If you listen closely you can here a voice in the doom buggy that translates her into Japanese so they can understand her words

  • I would like to, one day, go to every disneyland/world. Go on all of the rides, see all of the parades, and take photos, it would be a fun thing.

  • Why's Madame Leota in English though?

  • @nintendofan3100 to cut american visitors some slack. lol

  • @nintendofan3100 it's like that in paris too actually. the song and the other audio are still in english. the only thing they change in the ride is the voice of the guide (the creepy guy who talks 2u in the beginning). idk y...i mean i understand the song still being in english but they cud get someone to do a voice over for her & the girl at the end who says, "hurry back" even that is still in english in paris. but then i guess this is an American Haunted Mansion...but still...

  • Ya know, if there was one thing that REALLY scared me about The Haunted Mansion in WDW before the refurbishment, it was those big spiders (the ones around 2:09 in this video). :(

Mind you, I was nine years old then, and I'm turning twenty-two this March. But to let you know, I still hate spiders. They scare me to no end, like with Indiana Jones's fear of snakes. >_<

  • 素晴らしい物を見せてもらえて嬉しかったです!!ありがとうございます。

I'm glad to see a wonderful thing.I want you to go to Tokyo Disney Land again

and enjoy several things in TDL.

I'm sorry to be a bad writer in English.

  • 6:01 Look at them go! Dang, it's amazing what a few years of added technical know-how does. And the La-La Singer! I can hear him!

  • wow most of it is amost exactly the same as cali :ooo

  • i like the Asian leota, LMAO XD

  • i bet Beaker would be scared to hell going on this ride.

  • I would scream my head of if I was here.

  • 0:14 Here comes the doom buggy~

it would be soo cool if they had these thing in the plane......

  • i think that it's more scarier than the paris version but it's less prettier

  • awesome videos! I felt like I was there

  • 4:50 I wish the attic rooms at Disneyland and WDW were still like this one, with the little spooks jumping out at you and screaming. I don't like what they've changed it into. also, the ghosts in the graveyard seem to have more fluid movement and an even eerier glow about them! maybe the Haunted Mansion in Tokyo tops them all!

  • @goo83 exactly! this is how all the haunted mansions used to be like. Tokyo's is the only original left.

  • 5:58 Wow the Phantom five of tokyo realy can move! The ones America are rather stiff.

  • My heart shed a tear.. It's nice knowing good ol' Haunted Mansion is in Tokyo as well, the number one city in the world I wish to go to.. (I'm from L.A. xp)

  • Somebody get the breathing door a paper bag! He's hyperventilating! D:

  • I wonder how videotaping any of the Haunted Mansion rides using the night-vision feature would affect seeing details better - but then maybe all the ghost-projections would not be visible? Still, just to see the decor and sets would be way cool...

  • i cant see so much but i know its a dark ride attraction

  • umm parkhopper look at the description: you spelled Haunted wrong!

  • @sora412zx

    It`s just a misunderstanding dude

    this happens

  • I wish the Animatronics where as advanced here in the Original Disneyland park as they are in Tokyo's park.

  • I cannot tell when ur on the doombuggy and when ur not. Only because i cant see and i cant tell because ive never been to tokyo

  • I'm surprised they didn't translate more of the ghost's lines. Also, did they not have the attic with the bride who took an axe to all of her husbands or did I miss it?

  • The bride herself can be seen a 1:15, but she doesn't have the axe like in the american parks.

  • @Tsuruka they didn't add constance to the tokyo one, as far as I know she's exclusive to the states.

  • @lilcrazy09 I wouldn't be surprised if they might add her in the not-too-distant future. And since the Tokyo D-Land layout (as well as architecture) is pretty much the same as WDW's, there's a good bet they'll add the same

    enhancements as the latter.

  • Are cameras allowed on the rides? or did you sneak your camera in? Just wondering. :P

  • This ride still gives me the creepies no matter what langauge its in, or which version. Ever since I was little I was terrified of the haunted mansin. Period.

  • Some of the animatronics here are way better than the ones in the US. Just look at the band! Wow!

  • I remember one in the old version of the WDW HM, the doombuggy was taking me to the old spider room. The doombuggy mysteriously slowed and stopped in the middle of the room. So there I was, in an old mansion...in a dark room...with huge spiders. It's creepier than you think! *shudder*

  • oh tell me about it...I have a huge fear of big spiders, some reason little spiders dont freak me out

  • This version here is pretty much like the old version at WDW.

  • Sucks they got rid of the spider room at Disney World. That was the scariest part for me as a kid.

  • what spider room is there a video. im a big fan o fthe haunted mansion i even work their and i never heard about a spider room

  • The spider room was where the staircase is. They got rid of it after people claimed it as "boring". I'm talking about the Haunted Mansion in Orlando, by the way.

  • oh yeah thats where the screaming man was who is now on the floor in the graveyard . but the staircase is more boring than the spider room. i mean all it is stairs sideways and upside down and a footprint starts to walk. BORING!!!!

  • Wow, that's really boring. At least with the spiders, they came down right in your face at one point... at least I think.

  • yeah good times , good times

  • No, they didn't. They just kinda sat there. I wasn't very impressed with it as a kid.

  • Well, I haven't been there in like 7 years. Hard to remember. But I hate spiders and that's creepier than some dumb staircase.

  • It depends on personal taste. you may think its dumb, and thats perfectly fine, but I, on the other hand, think it is quite impressive.

Have you seen it for yourself?

  • Actually, I haven't, so I have no room to talk. But, from seeing it on Youtube and such, it seems cool but not too creepy. I mean, it looks impressive, just kinda... eh, dumb.

  • Youtube really doesn't give it any justice. You are correct, it isn't creepy, but it is very supernatural.

  • I suppose you're right. You got me there. I do quite like supernatural, but I like creepy just as much :)

  • wow this haunted mansion has way more stuff than the one in california

  • o_o

the beginning of the ride is probably the best beginning out of all the manors in the world in my opinion. shoot.. and than there was that picture with that man and his head starting poping out of it.. The portraits at Tokyo are also awesome!

  • how does madame leota speak english, but the host dude speak japanese???

  • @khigashi16 To honor the original actor who did the recording for leota is like a respect thing

  • disneyworld and disneyland rule! anyone who never went to disney as a kid had a deprived childhood!

  • agreed xD

  • @SPORTSGUY9933 anyone who didn't must not have had the money :/ Doesn't mean their childhood was deprived. Parent's want to take their children to disney, but just cant muster up the money, along with paying for bills.

Though as a single parent, my dad was able to take me and my bro last year.

  • i remember going on this ride! it scared the crap out of me!

  • I think this ride is more for teenager, becouse kids are going to cryng. Just heard the sound effect that is screaming everywhere.. scary.

  • @wallagbhy i got on this for the 1st time when i was lik 7...as soon as i got off the ride I got right back in line =) i saw kids on their younger than me even they were lik "I wana go again!!"

  • toky's house is csary !!!!!!!!!!

je filmerai cette été phantom manor à disneyland resort paris et je la mettrais sur youtube !!!!!!!!!!!

  • that bride with the beating heart is SCARY! shiiit

    i still have nightmares :(

  • Dang, the Corridor of Doors sure go crazy in this one!

  • You're not kidding. That was ridiculous. I wonder if Anaheim will ever see those additions.

  • Hopefully. Probably when I'm through....

  • i though anaheim already incorporated the new additions that floridas did?

  • @Trevelbond I doubt it. They only added the Escher-like staircase because the WDW ride itself is slightly longer than the D-Land one due to the presence of the haunted library and music room.

  • The bride is kind of cute, but looks a bit like a little old lady!

  • Cool! They used the original Leota Toombs/Eleanor Audley Madam Leota in Japan as well. I don't care for the different one in Paris.

  • I think a reason why so much of the ride is left in English is that, in addition to the tourism and the fact that most Japanese understand English, the ride itself is very western. The building architecture, tombstones, etc, are all western motifs. People in asian countries are more likely to have their ashes burned upon their death, not really bury bodies whole.

I think the whole ride would feel a bit off if it was completely in Japanese, but that may be just me.

  • I have to admit, the Haunted Mansion in Japan is pretty creepy. Especially all those weird paintings on the wall.

  • scaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrryyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! scary

  • i pissed my pants

  • it would be more funny if tokyo disney was made with japanese thing lolll thats just look the same then the other park

  • On 9:24, is that the man in the spider web that I was told it was really scary?

  • What are those pictures on 0:59-1:17? This is what I think they look like:

1: Smiling dude with a noose around his neck with one big eye and holding an axe

    2: A Vampire with a knife

3: Gypsy lady with her cat and a skull

    4: Medusa

5: Man or theif with a body bag

6: Scary looking old woman who glares

    7: A judge from hell

8: A person in a boat on a dried up sea

Tell me if this looks right.

  • @sapphirestardust7 Those are The Sinister Eleven. They were also at WDW until most of them were replaced by the D-Land changing portraits as part of the recent enhancements.

  • That painting at 3:04...WOAH. I've never seen that effect before. It looks creepy and awesome at the same time.

  • I know! Scary.............

  • this one is more similar to the one in florida than the one in anaheim.

  • its very similar to the disneyworlds from the early 90s.

  • In Phantom Manor , The Grim Grinning Ghosts music is different

  • Its the same only a little remixed.

  • i dont see the ice-blue bride T.T ...... where is she ... i want to how she looks like in here ..... as most of us .... i think .... kno that Constance the bride in Disneyland, Aneheim, Ca. she holds up a hatchet after every vow she makes ..... this one of wat i read in wikipedia .... it said that there is a ice-blue bride in Tokyo ... reply if its true and send me a vid that has her in it ... thank you

  • she is there she is there from 5:13 to 5:19. i dont really like it that much though.

  • i dont really like that bride, she is a blue statue and has white hair, and her dress in a single sheet of vinal. we went on a tour in tokyo. everyone calls her the frozen bride

  • If I had a mansion like that I'd have a party every weekend

  • The library scene is just so cool! The book ont the floor moves, and the pages of the book on the table turn.

  • aww....i still feel so sorry for the gravekeeper and his dog (the only living beings in the mansion)XD

  • If I inherited a mansion like that, then I would burn it to the ground and then douse the flames in Holy Water.

  • At 0:02, it seems as though there are doombuggies moving around in a circle toward the station. Is it just too dark and I can't see what's really there, or is it really there? I don't remember being able to see that at WDW.

  • it is true that on the scene with the giant spiders 1 of them is eatin a guy caught in the web?

  • So far that was just an urban myth. It was rumored to be part of the Anaheim version, but the dummy was said to be moved underneath the mansion to scare the newbie cast members. Disney hasn't confirmed most of it... yet.

  • b-cuz I been 2 the Haunted Mansion in Orlando b4 they removed the giant spiders & replaced them with the staircases & I don't remember c-in any person caught on the web & b-in eatin by 1 of the spiders I didn't find out until I read it on Wikipedia

  • i don't think so, it would be really nasty if they put that.

  • real nasty if they put what? which comment are you talking about?

  • seomone asked one page ago:

it is true that on the scene with the giant spiders 1 of them is eatin a guy caught in the web?

  • oh ok. i didn't see that one.

  • The Man caught in the web was only in the florida Mansion for about a week, they thought the effect was too scary, especially for Disney! Some dont even think it was ever there! But it was, as told by many eyewitness viewers. The body is now stored in a storage closet to scare other cast members.

  • the doors go crazy in this one O_O

  • 3:00 was creepy that isn't in the florida mansion

  • great video and really great footage :)

  • at 06:34 it sounded like pee wee herman humming the tune.

  • at 03:02 didnt his head just popped out of the frame?

  • thats a special effect. It doesnt look that way to the other people, and didnt u see it go

back in like a ghost? Done w/ old magic tricks, light effects, and mirrors.

  • yes

  • accually there is no mirrors or lights, the picture itself is made out of rubber and there is somthing behind it the pushes it out

  • at 05:02 that scene with the "pop up ghost" is what to me makes a grrrreeeeat haunted mansion.

  • Wonder why Leota's dialog and the Grimly Grinning Ghosts song is in English - and the tombstones, but the narration for the ride is in Japanese. The French Phantom Parlour used to have English narration by Vincent Price, but they got rid of all the narration.

  • jdohe:

    1. Many Japanese understand English.

    2. EVERY Haunted Mansion--even Phantom Manor--has GGG IN English.

  • thats one freakin cool Haunted Mansion. I think before florida got the cool updates, this had to be the best Haunted Mansion. but i think now its WDW. I WONDER IF Tokyo is going to get the same updates as WDW and DL in CA did. that would make it really scary!

  • I believe the Florida updates would be nice, but what if they added an armory with living suits of armor, and a ghost dragon warming tea for some of the graveyard ghosts?

  • Those are very good ideas! Probably good for my Haunted Mansion walkthrough this year....

  • I love this video. Thank you,

  • I hope they leave it this way it's scary enough for me!

  • where can i find images of "all" the portraits in the section at 00:52 through 01:16

  • The one in france is better because it has a story plot unlike the other ones.

  • I can't agree with you on that, Phantom Manor is good, but it doesn't capture the look and feel of the original mansions.

  • Oh yes the other mansions have story plots, the plot is the mansion is a retirement home for ghosts and searching for number 1000 they let you tour the mansion.

  • Here's my story for the original DL & WDW Mansions (to explain bride switching):

Mme. Leota did in Lillian & caused shy Emily to suffocate in an attic trunk. These events caused Master Gracy's suicidal hanging. Later, a new bride & groom enter the Mansion. After crazy Constance did her husband in, crystal ball-bound Leota regretted past actions & set to do right by getting rid of this troublemaker. She & her daughter trapped Constance in the attic, resulting in Emily going into hiding.

  • FYI...

Emily = The shy, original (formerly "No Face") brokenhearted bride.

Constance = The axe-brandishing pyscho that appears in DL & WDW as the new bride who looks to get a...head in the afterlife.

  • "no face" bride? Where is she seen?

  • EmilyPlus: She (that is, what Emily once was before she showed her face) cannot be seen anymore, because--in the original Mansions--they replaced even the most modern Emily (the one with yellow eyes and a face) with the axe weilding Constance. At least here in Tokyo, Emily is still present, but with a face, as per her modern look (and I bet Constance will take Emily's place in Tokyo too, eventually).

  • @EmilyPlusMikey0089 i agree with u on the story but the effects aren't that great in my opinion.

  • Oh another thing, this Haunted Mansion is only a clone of WDW's because the facade matches with the gothic feel of Cinderella Castle, and the attraction is a good thematic bridge between Westernland and Fantasyland due to it's early American architecture.

  • I thought Cinderella Castle was suppose to be a special place though and they make it into a death place.

  • Cinderella's Castle is in a different part of the park than the Haunted Mansion. You have a point though. Trivializing murder, suicide, and death is not nice. The haunted mansion idea arose during WW2 when life had a very cheap price.

  • This is one of the best videos I have ever seen of The Haunted Mansion. It is just awesome!!! 5 STARS!!!!!!!!!

  • (Reply) (Spam)

Many people in Japan can speak and understand english. Also, many enlish speaking tourists visit Disneyland in Japan. So overall, english would be the best solution

  • This ride is more creepy than the one in california

  • your very right. But the asians really know how to make things scary.

  • They could have put at least some more effort into translation. Great vid, tho!

  • this is the only original version of the haunted mansion left! hope they dont change this one as well.

  • the only reason its a origanal is becus its practicly new

  • oh really? i didnt know that. you know exactly when the ride was put in there?

  • 1983

  • Ohhh, okay!

  • If its in tokyo, why is it in English?

  • tourists. thats why

  • its in english everywhere you go. only part that is in different language is the narrator- or should i say our ghost host!

  • Sportsguy: That & whereas most Haunted Mansions--DL, WDW, and Tokyo--share the same story, Phantom Manor's story is more elaborate and more well-developed, instead of mashed together on whim by Imagineers.

  • HUH?

  • Sportsguy: I was adding on to what you said by saying that whereas most of the Mansions share the same backstory (and bride-switching from Emily to Constance), Phantom Manor's story is more well-developed and has remained relatively the same for centuries.

  • it is a remake of a old disny atraction known as the haunted manson in disnyland californa. since there has been haunted manson in disny world florida, haunted manson in tokyo disnyland, and phantom manor in disnyland paris

  • The Disneyland Hong Kong doesn't have a Haunted mansion (nor Phantom Manor).

  • I know. That totally sucks. T_T

  • i remember me and bunch of my buddies went to Tokyo Disneyland, and we all were laughing our asses off when we heard the japanese guy talking in the circle room. But when we got on the ride a friend turned to me and said: "hey this ride is pretty creepy dude, more then the US and Paris".

the ride does have a "Creep" factor to it.

  • Ah didn't know every Disneyworld/land had the same attractions. This Haunted Mansion looks almost exactly the same as the one in Paris.

  • WOW! I've been going to DL since 1970 and I had to watch this video to remember what the HM REALLY used to look like. I've only seen it Christmased up and refurbished for the last 10 yrs that I've been (every other year or two). Thanks for posting this original. Sometimes you think your losing your mind when things don't look familiar at all. I don't like the refurbs (the xmas is pretty fun). But the classic ... THIS is the one!

  • Yeah, the definitely could do without the neon-blacklight thing they got goin' on there now.

  • very pretty

  • This looks so much better than Disneyland's and WDW Haunted Mansions COMBINED. Practically an exact copy of what I remember from my childhood. Before all the new additions and everything.

  • i agree with you 100 pecent!! an exact copy of what wdw used to be like when i was young

  • You are totally right, I have been going on the American versions of the attraction all my life and the Tokyo one simply is far superior technology and effects wise. However, I still prefer the exterior of the Disneyland Haunted Mansion over all the rest.

  • B4 I thought that the TDL's HM kicked MK's HM @ss, but after the rehab, now it's the other way around.

  • IN 1990, IT WAS EXACTLY LIKE THIS

  • Very cool! I enjoy seeing all the little difference in-between the attractions.

Whatever new stuff is going into the Florida version is probably going to make it over to the California version.

Still, I can't wait for the day I get to go to Tokyo...

  • I remember thay i was so scared when i had visit first.

  • this ride is really awesome, specially the effects, though i didn't understand what they're saying

  • Just think of the American version while the Ghost Host is speaking.

  • I've been through the Haunted Manison many, many times... but this video actually had me a bit creeped out!

  • this one way different from the Californian one but i still love the California one cuz its the best

  • we need english subs

  • tokyo haunted mansion is exactly the same as the walt disney world one. Thx for the vid!

  • the one in Flordia is undergoing rehab this summer...it may not wind up the same

  • IT NEEDS ALL THE REHAB IT CAN GET

  • with the exception of the bulging face portrait in The Corridor of Doors . . .
