The first good cover of this I've heard that is it's own. Most just go over the top. You did it simple and just tweak everything just right. Awesome cover.
Yeah I know what you mean. Specially cause I'm a baritone and like to write pop punk kinda stuff myself, I'm constantly aware of what sounds good in which key but I found it's just how you really use what you got and you used what you have very well =].
This is probably one of the best Hallelujah covers I've heard guitar-wise. Most people totally skimp out on how classic the guitar is in this song and just play the chords. So I'm glad you took the time and put in the effort to learn the whole thing.
That is one of the verses that Jeff Buckley didn't use in his version. But I really liked it so I had to put it in. So I did a little swapping and used Leonard Cohen's melody for the verse...kinda.
Why Georgia? Yeah that day was pissing me off. Stupid microphone. I'm glad its dead now. I got a new guitar since then too. It's awesome. I've made up some of my own mad licks and blues fills in that song too. I've not played it for a while though. :P
you're back in Edmonton. But you rep Vancouver so well.
Cohen is a poet. I think he's one of the most important figures in Canadian Culture without a doubt. It's kind of funny how many well known people are from Canada yet because Canadians are so open to living a globe trotting life, they aren't necessarily known as being Canadian.

Thank you very much. I wish I was able to sing it higher. I
feel it sounds better in a higher key.

Good song by the way. You play the song much better than I do. I also can't be bothered to learn it, but still. :P Ever tried writing your own stuff?
FatNation 3 years ago
I've seen you play a song I couldn't so I'm sure you can play this one well too. I've tried a few times but never satisfied with what I end up with.

Since when were the walls Red?
I like the red walls. Leonard Cohen. I enjoy his words sometimes but other times I wonder WTF is up with this guy.
I can't stand the song "Closing Time" by him. The words are decent when written out but sung...not good memories for me.
Who doesn't enjoy "Hallelujah" though
