I love how the part on the ride cymbal comes in in the weirdest spot ever. if anybody is a good counter let me know what beat that is. i think im going to have to count it to know where to come in. its so hard to feel it the way he does
@jakebiffy Snares are on, and they were on for St. Anger. I don't know why he said they weren't. He just has a metal snare and when you record a metal snare and don't mix it this is what it sounds like. Same with the St. Anger album, they were going for a garage type sound, so they did very little mixing.
Good stuff.. and FUN. why do people forget that? As far as the tuning, some folks (me included) like to tune the heads high and tight since you get a better snap. To each his own.
@kroak666 Yes, indeed. But, the amount of notes on the hihat and toms did not seem relevant considering that it is a cover and age of the drummer. It seems fantastic that a boy of that age play a song from a band like the police and not a britney spears song. Thanks anyway.
@drumsticks135 It's quite honestly the Nicest ride i've ever heard, very vesatile and the bell cuts through perfectly... on a love scale of 1 to 10 i'd say i'm sitting at about 15 :D You can't go wrong man! haha, Sweet... The M-Birch is one awesome kit aswell :)
Spotted your couple of cheats - I know it ain't easy to play at all can be a little confusing and seems irregular but keep practicing you got the main of it just fine tune the little ride bell hits etc - good luck and mainly enjoy
@FreakingVermillion Thanks man, They are awesome Cymbals!!! Well, They are top of the range, nothing better really. the crash goes for about $279 and the ride goes for about $385... Hope that helps?
Right on drumming, those cymbals sound great with the song. Good going!

Great drumming and drum tuning on the toms. Yes, there is a bit of a ring on that snare. Good audio mix too on a tune I've yet to cover.

Nice, but I had the idea that sometimes, you just let the backingtrack fill in the mistakes that you made at 0:59 for example.

@kakuserver He keeps the tempo good, but he is missing a lot of notes on toms and hihat...so it's good, but not excelent.

considering the almost reggae nature of the song the snare seems perfect... and is the original snare not that high as well?
