I disagree. The issue here is that we are disconnected from our history and we always look toward the west for salvation. When you think about it, the west dug up democracy from the Greek history. Actually in Islamic law, if a person is accused of adultery or murder, it's capital punshiment. There is a legal testimony of 4 witnesses. One female witness recounts, second female witness with her to catch any discrepancies.

The point isn't to degrade women. This is a matter of life or death, so necessary precautions are taken.

I second your opinion and add that having sever punishment corresponds to a sever crime. Women take half the share of men in specific situations in the inheritance since the women are supposed to be always financially covered by their husbands or families.
