Real miniguns and airsoft miniguns sound very different from other fully automatic weapons due to the rate of fire being higher. There is almost no pause between shots, so unlike the rhythm of a drum beat, its almost a continuous rumble.

@MarcMarccMarccc Airsoft is great for kids. I'd say.... ages 8-15.. At 16 it's paintball time. This guy is clearly not a kid 8-15 yrs old so that behemoth airsoft gun he's carrying is ridiculous and cost him probably $200. Plus I'd peg him for at least 21 which means he should be shooting old TV's, clays or watermelons for sport... not "shootin yer buddie's" with airsoft. Plus what happens to all those little tiny plastic bb's? Talk about littering.
Let me answer a few questions and correct a few things. First off that's me in the video and this was taken when I was living in northern Japan, NOT in Indiana. I was an honorary member of Team T.A.N.G.O. and wrote a review for their site on my old Vulcan. FPS was variable to a point, but around 400 is average at near 6000 rounds per second. I was wearing green coveralls instead of BDU's because it was a lot easier and more comfortable for me...and they worked great to keep the dirt out.

@ibanezjemgmc ...improper use and screwing around with it and made it into a 35lb paperweight. The chamber shims were the first to go if I remember right. Now from my experience, S II S BBs worked the best because the didn't shatter while Marui BBs were the worst by far. I ran many magazines of the S II S BBs without any issues and was what I was using in the video.

The effect looks like how a wheel of a wagon in a Western movie looks like its spinning backwards or forwards, but it does actually spin in only one direction in reality.
@theamazingtoot ... Clearly you didn't get what i was driving at. Its called the stroboscopic effect and should be filed in your brain under common sense. Anything spinning at a high enough velocity will look like its spinning in the opposite direction.
But hey, who am I to judge, go watch a video of a jet engine starting up and argue that it cant spin in two directions at the same time and that its "crap".

@aftershockinfinity Most of us who have real firearms experience or are firearm owners should know that. But typically the average person does not have access to real miniguns or for that matter, full-automatic, or in some countries, even real firearms. Airsoft miniguns are meant to be a means of owning a replica of something that otherwise would be virtually unobtainable. Also its meant for training and wargame use, so a real minigun obviously is more appropriate in those cases.
@XcaliberTactical that air soft mini gun will in no way train you for the real thing. it is cool but slow firing, no recoil, and is in my oppinion a waste of money.

The effect looks like how a wheel of a wagon in a Western movie looks like its spinning backwards or forwards, but it does actually spin in only one direction in reality.

@theamazingtoot ... Clearly you didn't get what i was driving at. Its called the stroboscopic effect and should be filed in your brain under common sense. Anything spinning at a high enough velocity will look like its spinning in the opposite direction.
But hey, who am I to judge, go watch a video of a jet engine starting up and argue that it cant spin in two directions at the same time and that its "crap".

@aftershockinfinity Most of us who have real firearms experience or are firearm owners should know that. But typically the average person does not have access to real miniguns or for that matter, full-automatic, or in some countries, even real firearms. Airsoft miniguns are meant to be a means of owning a replica of something that otherwise would be virtually unobtainable. Also its meant for training and wargame use, so a real minigun obviously is more appropriate in those cases.

@XcaliberTactical that air soft mini gun will in no way train you for the real thing. it is cool but slow firing, no recoil, and is in my oppinion a waste of money.

@THEGUY3690 The footage is over a decade old and the camer used at that time did not have a fast enough capture rate to show the barrel rotation and true rate of fire. The Piper's Precision Products M-134A2 Vulcan Airsoft Minigun has a rate of fire of about 50 rounds per second and their Strafer fires at 150 - 175 rounds per second as reference.

What Xcaliber's rep is trying to tell you (translated from shameless-advertising-English, also known as Shamadlish, which I just made up) is that there are much better models around today, and that the Piper's Precision M134A2 Vulcan they sell is an example of one such model. If you didn't want a lecture, why did you write that last sentence? You're practically asking for it.
