    R.I.P

  • Anyone else think that Renzo v Ryan rolling are the best BJJ battles, might as well be a competition that for the pace and determination. From what I have seen, Renzo always won too! I love seeing these two roll.

  • love the quickness

  • keep in mind that ryan was heavier by 40 or so pounds..

  • man they are really going for it!

  • LEYENDAS

  • some of the best scrapping i've seen in a bjj video

  • History in the making... Clearly, two of the BEST BJJ practitioners of today's time... Ryan was one of the BEST!!! Renzo already is a legend...

  • @jiujitsu75 It would be such a great honor to meet Renzo Gracie. I began BJJ because of him 10 years ago and I still think he is the greatest.

  • great fight

  • pena que houve bastantes cortes durante o rolamento...

    Tapinha na cbeça no final.

  • Im fucken serious when i say this is the best video im ever seen... Im glad im on the wrestling team.

  • @Jmerritt92 watch ricardo vs leo vieira friendly spar

  • Renzo still got kimura'd by Saku. Kimura and Saku proved that Japan produces better wrestlers/grapplers that are more versatile. After all that's where jiu jitsu originated.

  • Saku is an amazing grappler but the fact that he submitted some of the best fighters in the world doesn't prove anything other then that Saku is the man.

  • lol in grappling thats not the case but in a place where there are rules and striking it is. saku beat gracie in mma but when you say he could beat him in just grappling thats not gogin to happen and there are alot of gracies not just renzo.

  • @italdesign1976 they are the only two japanese to beat a gracie and kimura out weighed helio by nearly 70 pounds... and they went for what 12 minutes? sure jiu jitsu originated in japan but that is nothing like the brasilian jiu jitsu today. japanese jiu jitsu relied on strength gracie jiu jitsu or brasilian jiu jitsu relies on leverage. u can be 5 foot 120 pounds but if u have mastered the technique of bjj u can beat a 6'10 250 pound man.

  • @seigemma4 actually jiu jitsu started in india, then it wento to china and then japan. it was when it arrived in brazil that the art was developed into the sport we know today. jiu jitsu is more ancient than i used to think

  • Gracie Jiu-Jitsu is a legacy for all the humanity.

  • qual é o nome da música? whats the name of song?

  • Korn 4 U

  • great fight =)

  • R.I.P. Ryan!

  • My instructor is the dude sitting down watching. Now he's got his black belt from Renzo. Epic.

  • As good as it gets. Love the video of Rickson and Rigan as well, but that one was captured on really poor video. Thanks so much for this video!

  • pure art.

  • pure art.

  • beautifull indeed, very intense sparring

  • beautiful!

  • both are beasts

  • Lindo

  • cool

  • u guys would know better than me...i was jw who was the best gracie?

  • The best gracie grappler has to be RIckson Gracie, he was that one that taught Royce

  • Rickson is the most accomplished MMA fighter of the gracies, but in comp grappling I would have to say Royler. In all around MMA and comp Renzo.

  • Rolls was considered the best until he died. Rickson was the familie champion after him. Since Rickson is 50 now Roger is No1. The rising star of is Ricksons son Kron....

  • Very good point on Rolls. THough I've only seen ONE bit of footage on him all accounts say he was the best. He was lso the one who brought wrestling, a lot of judo an Sambo to the art.

  • yes, he was pretty open minded for new stuff.

  • right, but the main weak point of most bjj guys is still wrestling and judo. thats why I like guys like dave camarillo and kazeka muniz. they included world class wrestling and judo into their game.

  • Yes and no. The regular sport BJJ guy doesn't use much judo, many use wrestling. But the TOP name guys Royler Gracie, Renzo, Anre Galvao, Saulo, Roger all use LOTS of Judo. Rger I think is a black belt in judo and i KNOW Saulo is a brown belt, Royler I think has a black and Rickson trained lots of judo. Run the names of the guys who win the worlds and ADCC and all have strong judo and wrestling.

  • Rickson, Rolls, Sylvio Behring, Mario Sperry, Romero Jacare and many more trained alot with Kastriot George Mehdi. A french brazilian 8th da in Kodokan Judo. I always recomend crosstraining in judo and wrestling. It rounds your game alot.

  • My school has a former Olympic judo player for classes 3 times a week, Saulo's school has awesome judo, my school also has a D1 wrestler teaching it's done a lot. I also go to n RGDA school. Some schools overlook it and talk shit about judo check out Jungle Gym a school in the bronx it's a ghetto thuggish school and the instructor Justin Chim Chim Garcia is a moron who hates judo.

  • Wow, gret to have an Olympian. Im a little bit jaellous now. Hating on Judo is just stupid. Most of the guys at my Gym come from Judo and My Professor is also a Judo blackbelt and a freestyle wrestling all american. So we have pretty much the same approach like you guys.

  • check out osvaldo alves. He was big on the BJJ / Judo mix

  • I say the same thing...Rickson was best on the early mma...renzo then took it further being mora of a modern mma guy than a jiujitsu guy...but I think of that generation of Gracies Royler was the best grappler....just look at his accomplishments...But hey Royce was the guy that made jiujitsu famous...Rorion was the mastermind behind ufc...and Helio along with carlos and Carlson were the pioneers and founders of BJJ

  • I dont think Rickosn is more accomplished than Royce, in terms of MMA.

  • @dietermauer Royce fought in a few UFCs which were the first MMA events in the US he won and did well but Rickson had long been a staple of Brazilian and Japanese MMA type fights and all who truly know would agree he is the best Gracie to ever enter the cage or ring. Maybe Renzo has equal status.

  • How many cage fights did Rickson have?

  • this is amazing, it looks like two spiders just fighting and battling it out. great technique

  • isso é lindo!

  • one of the best matches i seen

  • ryan gracie is the one with the white shirt right?

  • na its renzo in the white shirt.

  • Renzo and Ryan are the best of the Gracie's. 2 bad Ryan had 2 go out like that. One of my favorite fighters of all time!

  • me too

  • one word for this. amazing!!!

  • can see the difference in their bjj styles even though they train the same way. Renzo being more solid and Ryan being more wild. seen this clip like 5 times, still amazing to watch. gotta love bjj

  • Ryan is bigger faster stronger but Renzo is just a legend.

  • renzo - tecnique of the gods

  • Correction, MARCELO = tecnique of the gods..... Marcelo is GOD.

  • very fluid! love that still!

    RIP Ryan

  • it's brasilian jiu-jitsu americans!! FAMÍLIA GRACIE BARRA-BSB!!!!

  • actually its BRAZILIAN. jsut thought you should know for your important point there

  • The flow is amazing, the kind of grappling a grappler appreciates!

  • Comment removed

  • It's amazing to watch 2 world class grapplers go at it. Amazing escapes and such smooth and fast position changing. Very entertaining

  • genial cool maravillozo espectacular video me encanta es corto pero excelente

  • Muito bom!!! Very good!!!

  • One kickass escape after the other.

  • yo renzos tthe man

  • what happen to ryan gracie?

  • Motox:

Got all messed up on drugs and stole a car. Was caught and died in the jail cell. I know my explanation is vague, so go Google it.

  • Ryan Gracie R.I.P.

  • great flow,didn't know about ryan's death...

poor kid, we all mess up sometimes...

  • Twoteh:

Yeah. Ryan wasn't a kid though. He was a adult with a child who was expected to behave just like the rest of us. He got what was coming to him.

  • you're right.what goes around comes around, reap what you sow, ect. He should have been thinking of providing for those dependent on him. seems he was mastered by his own self centered choices, instead of looking at the possible consequences. now his family will feel the effects for years and years.A son growing up w/out a father,a sad thing...

  • Twotetah:

I battle with myself as to weather you are right about us feeling sorry for him. Or weather it is HIS fault and that we should be angry for it. Such an internal battle it is.

  • not saying it's not his fault. we all have freedom of choice and we all have consequences of those choices. it's too late for him to learn anything about his mistake(s) now(if he would've). sad or angry,it's tragic none the less. maybe a commitment to a good set of morals like the 10 commandments, new testament, might have kept him out of trouble("submit to authority" wouldn't have been a bad place to start),but it's all too late now..

  • Being brainwashed with fairytails (AKA christianity) would of done no good.

  • lack of moral guidance definently did not help him....

as far as fairy tales believe what you want, but even the gurus and rastas on your site call upon God and rastafarianism is based largely upon the Bible..

the more the words, the less the meaning,...

    I'm outta here. peace

  • I'm a Sikh. We believe not in anything but the creator, something we know is impossible to understand. Something we know fictional books created by man can not explain fully. That was my point, that's all. Sikhism has NOTHING to do with Christianity.

  • I too believe man cant fully understand God.But I believe we can understand what He reveals to us.There is advanced knowledge in the Bible that can't be easily explained by human logic;earth hung on nothing(Job 1500+B.C.)lot of religion/cultures taught earth carried on the back of a creature, ect.some others;water in space(comets, rings of saturn, ect)Sun travels in space, ect, ect.from 1500-500BC.we believe all men know theres something more,we believe too much proof for Bible to be fictional. peace

  • Christianity or any other religion doesnt provide any moral values..

Morals are learned from childhood and teenage years. Other Gracie family had no problem with that so I think he was isolated case. Probably just stayd under his brothers and cousins shadow. Always trying to compete and not getting the same respect and the attention as others in his family was getting. So he isolated himself by doing stupid shit and trying to be "cool" how he saw some other kids do when he was teen.

  • that's just my analyzing of the sitsuation. I dont know him personaly so I really dont know anything but what rumors and stories I hear and read.

So dont take my stupid mumbling as a word of truth. You know him best by asking people who lived with him and knew him from childhood

  • yeah,I only recently heard of Ryan myself. Didn't know him. Looked like a world class A+ grappler...

  • The Bible does provide moral value(dont steal, murder, commit adultery, obey law, provide for family, how to treat others, ect)To say Christianity dont teach morals is like saying a BJJ school don't teach grappling,or course it does. But you have to want it.Then you have to study it,work at it, make it part of you. To know something and do something are not always the same thing. Applies to teachings of Jesus/new testament as well. trying to be "cool"thing,I hear ya.tend to become like your friends

  • Greeks and the Romans figured out everything you just said LONG before the bible.

  • earth hung on nothing recirded in Bible approx.1500+BC. greek empire didn't really exist till approx 340BC..they taught earth carried on back of Atlas.Bible stated truth over 1000yrs.before greek empire existed.roman empire started approx 200BC. they took most their religion/myths from greeks. it's good to seek Truth and see where it really leads...

  • there is nothing truth about the bible.. So many sadistic rules and contradictions it's hard to believe.

Bible doesnt provide any morals.. If you think it's more to be afraid of hell and obey then do a good thing out of your own heart then there is something wrong with you.

Now I dont judge anyone but you have to see that you wouldnt hit some stranger in the face out of nowhere because bible says "do to other as you would like to be done to you" but because you think it's wrong to hit someone

  • the Bible is truth, much proven by archaeology.the O.T. was wrote for people at that time&place.the N.T. is for everyone and has made much of the OT obsolete(besides morality)most people have sense of right &wrong, but peoples hearts can be deceitful. A lot of influences say it ok to strike, kill, steal, lie, ect. Dont make it right. If there isn't a moral standard, there need to be no punishment, jail, ect. Everyone would claim he's "right".those who dont have truth judged by whats in their heart.

  • I hate to argue about such things for no reason. It's silly that a Ryan Gracie video has turned into such a debate, lol.

  • I agree. Arguing doesn't really help anything.

Dig the conversation, tho. message me anytime,I'd be glad to hear from you.

    take care

  • Hey guys, I don't know if you noticed, but this is grappling video

  • Both Renzo and Ryan's father Robson is a black belt (9th dan) yet Renzo received his belt from his uncle Carlos Jr. Does anybody know why Renzo was promoted to black by Carlos and not his own father?

  • wow... that was awesome!!! to gracies spar each other... smooth. peace to ryan.

  • why did ryan gracie past away?

  • drug addiction

  • u sure about that? i heard it wasa car accident.

  • Ryan Gracie died after a night of stealing cars, fighting, then overdosing on his legally pescribed pills. The guy was a punk and a fool, although an amazing fighter.

  • wow dude i didnt like ryan gracie cuz of his aditude but jeez have some respect for the dead. takes balls to call someone like ryan gracie a punk to his face but takes a world class pussy to call him a punk when hes dead. go back to watching ufc and thinking you know everything about fighting u fuckin PUSSY!

  • I did JUST start Ju-jitsu, so I am doing more "then just watching UFC". And it's hard to compliment a mans stupid actions when he is still alive, when those actions are the things that killed them.

  • no not drug addiction, he was court ordered to take an anti-anxiety med for his erratic behavior and he slammed the entire bottle the 2nd time he got arrested...so it was more of an overdose from depression/guilt kinda thing.

  • I haven't read anything recent on this subject but this is what was on Sherdog.

He hijacked a neighbor's car and injured the man's finger with a knife. He drove like a block, crashed it and got out on foot. He then attempted to hijack a motorcyclist but other bikers came to the man's aid and beat Ryan with their helmets. He was then arrested and the police found weed, crack and other illegal drugs in his system. His psychiatrist came to him and gave him prescription drugs for anxiety.

  • The combination of the illegal and legal drugs in his system caused heart failure. I understand what Ryan did was wrong, but died tragically.

    RIP Ryan.

  • one of the coolest grapplin videos ever

  • rest in peace..bro...

  • howcome there arnt any other vids like this when the Gracies are just sparring or ahnging out together.....say do u got any more like when Renzo and Royce are together? and which one is older Ryan or Renzo?

  • Ryan was the youngest,he recently passsed away.

  • yeah they were all out. that's the young dude tryin to take out the wily vet. awesome roll.

  • nice vid

  • 4U - korn

  • what song is playing?

  • Nevermind I got it..........

  • no one can fight in this intensity for more than 4 or 5 minuts...

  • I agree I have tried it before and it is very hard.

  • i dont get why this guy is getting all the thumbs down grappling for five minutes is like running several miles..

  • then you never grappled in this intensity... you are full cardio and doing all your full strenght all the time... try to do it for 5 minuts... it's maybe like running with your full potential for five minuts, try to do it... you will throw your meal away...

  • haha i agree, i do bjj and its the most intense cardio workout i have ever done, after about 5 min i feel like i sprinted about 2 miles haha

  • i have... i totally agree with you...

  • its worse than running any amount of miles. you have to be so fit for this sport its not even funny. I do it myself and i get really tired fast. ever since i started to do it i have a new respect for the sport.

  • i agree and disagree:

although true, for maximum results you must put out maximum effort, the essence of gracie jiu jitsu is to get as much efficiency as you can through movement so i don't think it is as hard as sprinting for five minutes.

it is tiring as hell though, i'm hoping to roll with renzo in november, at least meet him

  • <
