this is excellent! I was wondering though, since I'm getting a harmonium very soon & this video pretty much demonstrates the sound I'm looking for & capacity, is there anything special about it that I should watch out for? (I'm not an organ player so I have to ask haha.) I'd be super grateful for any answer! Thanks!
looks like good exercise! Used to play a big one of these in a church by our place in Wales. Mr Grand Father bought it for the church in the 50's, one of the bellows broken, it was replaced, and a few year ago they had a tidy up and chucked the old girl out!
The move due to an octave coupler, which essentially mechanically links one single upper octave key with its lower octave twin. Essentially it allows you to hit one note and play two.
yep, woops, heard already better for pump harmonium than this one.. so much repeat the same figures.. besides a regular hand-arm turning.. to the nose(?)
This would be much better on a pipe organ this poor instrument can barely handle the stresses put upon it by this interesting music--like a while gypsy dance.
Amazingly his left hand is more active than the right, as opposed to what most pianists and keyboard players tend to lean towards. It's almost a kind of stride thingie. Hard, very hard.
Waw ! Please post more videos about harmonium; we are a couple of harmonium lovers on YouTube ! And if you want, look at an other harmonium being repaired on harmonium[dot]le-blog[dot]info.
Well I must say.. I listened again.. I am also not convinced.. though, I do believe Tim is a very good improviser on comon piano (he was actually my former student, so I think I know what I am saying
this .... is .........insane .

Impressive brother, very very nicely done

the independence of your hands is truly phenomenal. You think polyphonically, with each hand, and your playing is exemplary for improvisation.

How come some keys move without you touching them?
Meta1Head91 4 years ago
there is an octave coupler stop key, which coulples the notes with the notes one octave lower, so there's more bass sounding.

How much do harmoniums cost and where can i get one?
zappascotland 4 years ago
I got mine for 25 euro.. in excelent shape! :) I was very lucky though, and I haven't yet heard a better sounding one either. I love it to death.
They are very cheap in general though. At least, in europe..

usually churchs which used them 1 century ago want to throw them. You can try to ask them to buy their instrument for $50...
