It's a large 140mm fan, and has around half an inch to an inch gap. You only need around 5mm space between a surface and a fan for it to work, I've done the test and when you cover a fan completely flush it only goes down to around 40% of the pushing power.. a few mm gap is enough to get air to it and you wont notice a difference.

Full tower and mid tower are case sizes full tower is the largest and fits any size motherboard. ATX and mATX are motherboard sizes I think ATX is the second largest. mATX is a size smaller than ATX. the largest motherboard is extendedATX and the smallest case is micro something. I don't know.
